and tell them you are going to submit a Better Business Bureau Complaint if they don't come and put it on your door step. I've had some success with BBB complaints. I think companies hate them because it exposes them in a very public way since complaints are visible on the web.

If that fails, maybe your local high school has a student handy-person program for low cost.

Snow cover makes it brighter, but from my outdoor thermometer, the low for today was 24, but at 5AM it was already 32F. Supposed to be in the lower 50's later, but high albedo from snow out here in the boonies may not let that happen. Yesterday's high was 36F. A decent solar gain day. Yesterday about 1PM, in my upstairs bedroom with clerestory windows it was 80F. House is "classic" passive solar, so overhangs will at some point block solar entry as the sun moves south.

My broken foot may have dropped the pain level a bit, swelling is down, incrementally. Non-compliant patient here; The Boot rubs top of my foot and front of my shin. I have pads to insert, but it all seems counterintuitive to me to make things stuffier. So I am doing sock-walking or barefoot. Keep L foot flat, or heel-walk is best. Fractures are in top of foot. MRI Monday to check whether I blew out a ligament as well. It's been 2+ weeks.

In one of those ironic moments, I ordered a new mattress-in-a-box. And now it sits as a box in the snow 900' away. 77lbs. Half my body weight. Me, broken foot. I have to horse it into my car and then onto the porch and then two half-flights of stairs, up two levels. Really, I do not think I can do this alone. FedEx, deliverer, lied and said it was delivered to my door. 900' away. From my door. UPS lies, too.
