Sanders made America distrust Hillary
So says Neera Tanden, 'a longtime Clinton confidante and influential policy-politics-communications adviser' who leads Center for American Progress.
From POLITICO
Meet Hillary Clinton's anger translator
In an interview for POLITICO's 'Off Message' podcast, longtime Clinton confidante Neera Tanden sounds off on Bernie Sanders' attacks, the 2016 election coverage and Vladimir Putin.
Here's the podcast audio:
So, here are the victim narratives being put forward:
On Sanders:
“He did do significant damage to Hillary's negatives,” she added. “I mean, he drove a lot of those negatives, and the truth of it, I mean, just to be candid — or honest about it, I think getting those kinds of attacks from another Democrat or another liberal or another progressive is much tougher for Hillary. … If you look at her trust numbers the last six months of that primary, it was much— those numbers took a much sharper dive and hard to recover from.”
Those pesky Russians:
But the thing that worries her (Tanden) most long-term is the reported meddling by Russian leader Vladimir Putin in U.S. internal politics, amid reports that Moscow was behind the hacking of the Democratic National Committee on the eve of the late-July convention in Philadelphia. The revelation that DNC staffers had coordinated activities with the Clinton campaign resulted in the forced resignation of Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a polarizing figure Brooklyn was glad to see go. The leak, Tanden said, was clearly designed to spur an unstoppable insurrection among Sanders supporters geared to help Trump.
Puh-leese - as if any of them actually believe the boogeyman they've put up to scare America.
She takes that line a step further:
“Look at [Putin-funded cable channel] RT, Russia Today. The amount of time they spend propping up the third parties in the United States, the amount of time they spend attacking Hillary, and in ways that are just very aligned with the arguments of the Trump campaign," she said. "Russia has a history of playing in European politics. And we should not be surprised if they are attempting to do the same here.”
EDIT:
My theory? They're setting up the excuses in case she loses just as we all predicted she would use. She does yammer a bit about October surprises.
I found this interesting:
I was really taken with how the Wikileaks email right ahead of the convention played with the psychology of Sanders' supporters and others - obviously, what happened at the DNC was outrageous and stupid and I'm glad they've taken a series of steps to change that all throughout the organization -but didn't actually show any evidence of, like, changing votes or anything (laughter), and yet we live in such a cynical time that people do just believe the worst...
She says that Russian financing far right groups is a thing - seems pretty weak. "I'm not saying it's a conspiracy," she says. She thinks it's weird that people on the left are denying that Putin may be interfering.

*Hillary* made America distrust Hillary
by being the lying, deceitful, conniving warmonger she's always been. But her cronies and followers can't admit that and will project the blame on anyone else rather than admit what a walking disaster she was, is, and will be.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Sanders always pulled his punches on HRC
He very strongly spoke out against Wall St., etc., but he could have spoken out much more forcefully against Clinton if he had chosen. His supporters certainly spoke out strongly against Clinton, but Sanders almost ignored her in his speeches.
That's not what they're mad about.
He provided a contrast. They don't like that.

And I think we are seeing now why he did what he did
Sanders showed incredible restraint in his "attacks" on Hillary. He made sure that all of his punches were "above the belt" so to speak.
Clinton might be mad at Sanders for exposing the truth about her, but that is the classic "kill the messenger" strategy.
The messenger ain't the problem. When the truth is exposed about HRC and the DNC, they have only themselves to blame. But snakes are always gonna snake, as some wit said here previously. Of course they are going to try to shift the blame off themselves and onto somebody else. It's what they do ...

And in this country, it usually works
especially with the 24/7 "news" cycle bleating it over and over and over again.

Lying, deceitful, conniving warmonger
Established 1992. Or even earlier.
I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The single most reliably right-wing US city of its size north of the 37th Parallel. In 1992 and 1996, there were plenty of folks around here vociferously not desiring Clintons in the White House. Almost none of the objections went to Bill Clinton, however. Almost all of the objections centered around Hillary. And that's before we had any real track-record on her (most of the unwashed masses still had no Internet back then; it was FidoNet's hey-day.)
Bottom line: Neera Tanden is full of shit. Americans distrusted Hillary Clinton long before Bernie Sanders entered the picture, especially for Americans who reside in other States than Vermont.

RT is propping up third party candidates?
I saw plenty of interviews with Stein on American media before I ever saw an RT interview. She's now been on CNN, Fox, PBS, TYT and probably a bunch more places that I missed.
American media loves a horse race. Trying to stop them covering one is like relying on an addict to stay clean.

So RT gives fair coverage of third and fourth parties
What a horrible thing to do! People might actually find out what the Greens and Libertarians stand for and consider voting for them. Sounds dangerously like democracy.

Idiot. Idiot. Provably, obviously false.
Perhaps "idiot" is the wrong word. "Baldfaced liar" might be better.
Hillary has had problems with her public image, particularly her "authenticity," since the 90s. Most Americans didn't know who Bernie Sanders was before last August.
It's true that the contrast between them did not make Ms. Clinton look good, but that's the danger of actually running for office against real competition. I understand she doesn't like that. But sadly, she can't control public opinion as absolutely as her hired hands can control the vote.

Sorry, lunachickie is right, the Center for American Progress.
I thought it was clear from the diary but I got lazy with the acronym.
Meanwhile, Politico, under some rubric of journalism, basically gave someone quite cozy with the HRC campaign, who works for others even cozier with the HRC campaign, a free rein to blame Bernie for Hillary's not having already locked in 100% of the votes that will be cast in the upcoming election. I mean, what kind of coronation is it that permits any resistance at all? Clearly, we must find blame, now, and why not pick on the candidate who's out of the running already and isn't attacking Her Highness? Otherwise, popular doubts could tarnish her crown.

Yup. She's got me all pegged. medicare for all, anti-TPP, free public college tuition, $15 minimum wage, etc etc. the only candidate remaining who supports these policies and more is Trump. /s
Sorry, Hillary. The only way this #BernieOrJillNeverHill supporter would vote Trump is to rat fuck you in the general (it's -2 votes from your popular vote margin.). But Jill's on the ballot in Alabama, so I can vote for her & have my vote counted & registered as to the left of the "Democratic" party. (And it probably will get counted. Madison county Alabama didn't show signs of election fraud in the primary)
Oh, and so what if there is an insurrection amongst voters? Jefferson said revolution was good for the country.
"Insurrrection" is a really interesting word to use about
people's voting choices.
I thought it was the people's right, in a republic, to vote for whom they choose. Voting should not constitute "insurrection" in a republic--always assuming this is a republic and not something else, where all us little guys owe our allegiance to the selected leader.

Desparation?
Or just sport? Hippy punching seems to have become the favorite pass-time of the DNC.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
A lot of them are just incompetent a**holes
However, some may be trying to stamp down Bernie's dangerous ideas so that they do not permeate the Democratic Party and persist. This would be very dangerous for the DNC.
Honestly, it's not dangerous--
the way to fix that problem is to tame the idea.
Present a bunch of fake stuff and call it by the names people use for actual social change: hope, revolution, whatever.
then use those organizations or campaigns to funnel money and time into the Democratic party, where you know you'll be able to essentially nullify most of the positive effects.
The platform controversy reveals their strategy pretty well. Have a big fight over something that's pretty much meaningless (no pols give a shit about the platform except when it's being written), smash Bernie's ideas down in most respects, and then give him one or two crumbs that he can call a success.
His choice? Either admit total defeat (demoralizing for the supporters) or pretend these two crumbs are actual progress. If you choose option 2, then you weaken the whole notion of social change, because too many people can see that what you're calling social change has no real impact. That makes them disbelieve in the notion of social change itself (really great for the Clintons, whose primary aim is to make real political change or dissent unimaginable).

Where is the Evidence of Russian hacking?
All these claims the "Russians" did it, are absurd! (at least to me)
Not one shred of evidence has been provided the Russians have done anything, ya know, like invade Ukraine, shoot down an airliner over Ukraine, reconstituting the Old Soviet empire, which if you think about it, the old USSR was not an "empire", as compared to the US.
How many military bases have they deployed around the world?
How much to they spend on defense? Gee, something like 85 billion but we spend half a trillion, who's the "empire"?

Who actually found Trump?
Not sure it was the Republicans -- they just thought he'd self-destruct and got some jollies seeing how directly a racist and anti-democratic position could be advocated -- for future reference. Trump's ties to the Clintons are well documented. Even Chelsea and Ivanka are best friends. Sorry for my tinfoil hat, but it had to have been hard to find someone who would be mistrusted more than Hillary.
Did it really all happen by chance? When she wins in a landslide will any of those rushing to vote for her and to block the madman ever regret being so taken in by the 1%? The 1% are all supporting Hillary because she represents their interests better than the Donald. And she also represents the greatest threat to the 99% --a fact being completely obscured by a red-haired buffoon who is being presented as a viable threat. I'm just finding this all very convenient, as the coronation proceeds unimpeded.
