Trump was right, just like we were, that this was a phony story coming from the Democrats, on a par with "Lamont hacked my website".

Trump is also wrong that the "2020 election was rigged". Because that particular statement is on a par with "the Russians did it!"

Of course, competing narratives drive cognitive disonance in the general population. Competing realities force people into into selective denial of existing data. This psychic crisis is exacerbated by the extreme levels of propaganda and the prejudiced censorsorship.

I think many people believed that when the hoax was revealed to the world, the victims of the propaganda would return to the evidence-based world. My own experience with lifelong friends, of the Democratic persuasion in New York, however, has convinced me that too much mental damage has been done. They cannot return to the world that is unfolding before us.

I fear the consequences of this deceit may be very grave for the nation.

If the US does start a hot war, the fight will be with an enemy that we have manufactured from the fever dreams of our collective psychosis.
