@GreatLakeSailor
I can almost feel the wind and the spray from the water. What lake and lighthouse is that?
I would love to be able to go from coast to coast and photograph lighthouses.
I have a book with photos of lighthouses and other nautical things of the Chesapeake area in black and white.

Putin isn’t going to make you homeless or kill you or deny you health care.
Your government will allow it to happen though.
Round 'bout a decade ago, it get delisted by the Army Corps of Engineers as an official navigation aid. It was sold to an acquaintance of mine and he used it for an art studio. He died about 2 years ago and I don't know what the status of the lighthouse is now, other than it is still not a navigation aid.
The other lighthouse, the masonry one, is Kenosha's original, first lighthouse, and it is located on the top of a hill nearby. Again, the googlemachine https://www.google.com/maps/@42.5903135,-87.8165349,36a,35y,128.32h,75.7t/data=!3m1!1e3 Now the city water plant is between the old lighthouse and the lake, but back in the day the old lighthouse stood proud over the shore.
Lake Michigan, as all the Great Lakes, can get mean fast. There's lots of historical accounts of the Coast Guard (and the "pre-Coast Guard" - "Kenosha Life Saving Station" before the Coast Guard was formed) rescuing people in harrowing conditions from that location.
Edit: I see the at-sign befuddled the link creation process. You'll have to copy and paste into a browser tab address bar.
