Politcal Apocalypse. Are you paying attention?

This started for me with adding a comment to this from gjohnsit:

The distraction, the other hand, the man behind the curtain.

Let's review, shall we?

1. Inauguration Speech: America First.
2. Cabinet Appointees.
3. EO Undercutting mandate for Obamacare.
4. EO mandating Wall
5. EO Pipelines
6. EO Immigration
7. EO EPA Regs
8. Tomorrow SC Nominee.

Say what you will. This guy has blown the system out of the water. This is not a dumb man (no matter what ToP writes.) It is a total system overload. "Scotty, more power!"

Our Dem leadership doesn't know where to fight first, cause every day there's something horrifically new. And they don't know what to do except tear up? Schumer? Really?

It's like they didn't see this coming. He's been telling us for 18 months.

It's like they never had a plan except HRC FTW.

He has been in office for 7 fucking days!

This will not end well.

For those advocating a new/different way to address this BS, keep it coming.

For Big AL, you're turning me into an anarchist. Shame on you....

"African or European Swallow?" Be careful how you answer...

Heh!

State. Schumer would never shed a tear. DC must be a raging fire of hair. African or European swallow, indeed.

I want a Pony!

Trump is averaging one EPIC fail every 24 hours. I can provide a list, which is pretty long for somebody who is just getting started. It includes several impeachable offenses. This is Day 11.

The idiotic and illegal Muslim ban caused utter chaos and led directly to a full-blown constitutional crisis.

At this rate, most of the Dems probably will want to sit back and wait until the Tea-GOP gets rid of Trump to save themselves.

At the above link, found on the page to which you posted your Guardian link, was some advice rather basic and important, phrased in an amusing manner, and which I hope nobody misses - I rather enjoyed the pictorial tutorial, at any rate, and it seems to me to embody the attitude we need to take among ourselves during this learning experience.

And thankee muchly for your link, although this Trumping of the spirit of democracy is merely a more blatant version of what's been going on (continually worsening, because never stopped now, just always as something 'to be fixed next time' in an outdated 'tomorrow never comes' tactic) forever, regarding the abuse of the guaranteed Constitutional rights of Americans by those sworn to uphold them, as they must, in order to hold or retain public office.

The public does not delegate the powers of such public office (these belonging in perpetuity to the American people, as does the American government itself) and pay with public funding (also belonging to the public) those within public offices intended to serve the public interest, in order that these public servants may act against the public interest in order to serve their own/hostile self-interests.

The only legitimate government is one of, by and for the people, ensuring (among multiple other issues, including the welfare of the country and people) equal rights, treatment and opportunity for all. And they need to be reminded that 'We, The People' know that and never again will forget or forgive further powerful offenders, officially absolving them of consequence borne yet again by the lives - and planetary life - damaged and destroyed.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

before they get any saner. If they ever do. Trump is a raging bull in the china shop of US politics, rampaging to his heat's content. Shards of over-priced crockery are flying all over the place. Little did the PTB realize how fragile and poorly guarded their establishment was. Now they know.

Reaction from the Dem Party? Hysteria and grievous hand-wringing. Universal wailing and gnashing of teeth. Considerable moral outrage, devoid of either introspection or any coherent strategy. An agglomeration of me-firster neoliberals, bought off by the very plutocrats they pretend to opppose. I don't expect much help from that quarter. Caught with their pants down and standing there butt-naked with their hands full of corporate cash, the moral high road will be hard for them to claim. The tactic of railing against Russia seems to have outlived its usefulness, and no matter what the tv pundits say now, Trump's supporters will be unlikely to believe them.

@native

I suspect that the response anticipated by the Dems and their paymasters to this radily anticipated Trumpling Of Everything was for a frantic and overwhelming demand for the Mad Bomber to take Presidential office, start nuking and put everyone out of their misery more rapidly, if they happen to be lucky enough to be at Ground Zero for instant relief.

Instead, The People begin (oh, horrors) to demand democracy and civilization...

I am getting ripped a new one, but not flagging out yet. Interesting what folks are saying I said in the past but never said. Alight, I don't like HRC>

I also found out that TopP has removed the ability to delete a diary. All for the good of the "community" don't you know.

Sliding through a kind of time warp, Maddow’s performance on the night of January 26 was akin to what the most extreme Republicans have reveled in doing to incumbent Democrats in past decades – baiting them as accomplices of the Kremlin and warning against actual détente between the two countries.

To be clear: Donald Trump has already shown himself to be a horrendous president in countless ways that matter, from his Cabinet appointments to his numerous corrosive statements to his executive orders on subjects ranging from family planning for women overseas to immigration at home. Why spin into agenda-driven conjecture and illogic when there are so many empirical reasons to directly challenge Trump?

Just as the Republicans never attacked the Clintons on what they'd really done. TPTB are writing the same old script which was 'big box office' back in their day. Now, they're just running the show a good 6 feet into the ground far faster than they expected.

Thank you so very much for the link! This is the unnecessary living proof that social democracy - government of, by and for the people, with equal rights, treatment and opportunity for all, with the welfare of the country and people the main purpose of government - sustainably works, now that such as NAFTA, the Koch brothers and others have taken over/utterly corrupted the Canadian government to ruin society, the economy, ecology and all else in the country right next door to you.

@Ellen North Koch brothers believe they are in charge/control of
our government and I can't find any evidence to the contrary
nor in agreement of, but with their hands in all the cookie
jars give me rise to make the assumption that they are, that's
not good to put it mildly.

If Churchill was correct we get it right soon, don't we?
