On July 17, 1938, Corrigan flew out of Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, with the supposed intention of flying back to California. He instead started heading east and flew all the way to Dublin, Ireland. Oops

One of my brothers calls me 'captain wrong way'. He has always been funny like that.
About the only time I get lost is in the suburbs.

I hate to give clicks to
Zerohedge, but in the last two days there have been two articles with which I can actually agree (an all-time record: alert the media). The comments are a vast wasteland, as usual, but the pieces themselves have merit.

When our downfall occurs, it will be pretty much instantaneous- whether driven by the white flash, or driven by the all-too-visible hand of the market. And once again, that's why I'm glad that I'm old and child-free.

Good morning QMS. A newly spotted widget tells me that it
is 14 to 25 here today, which I reckon is close to 57 to 77 and good for practicing one's mental arithmetic skills and some level of familiarization with ROW.
Had to check my spam folder for something today, only 2 or three attempts to scam or con me per hundreds of political e-mails for a very few days that I had to search.
Still no hint of any F-16 arrival(s) in Ukiestan from Sputnik, RT, Asia Times and SCMP. I suspect that no country wishes to be the first to send its pilots to try to land any of them of whatever Ukiedom has left for airfields.
Have upper raised bed finally gopher proofed, now to figure ut what to plant this late in the summer, but, all the same, one project done for now.

Porch table is full of ripening maters and kitchen table full of ripe maters. Time for processing!
Not to advertise the Amazon monster, but it is "prime day". I've got a small camping power unit, but I ordered a larger one that can power our home appliances after recommending that idea to JtC and OtC after their week without power. Half off the unit I ordered. Just a thought. My other item is a grape press. The muscadines are coming on and my method of crushing last year was ridiculous. The wine came out nice and I want to give it another go using an easier method.

Last week, an emergency food bank was set up for the locals. They were giving away some basic necessities. One was giving out giant boxes of bananas. Still green. Well, 6 days later, they are still green, but completely soft and even runny with syrupy liquid, said liquid goo got all over the counter top and floor of the office utility room.
I would not recommend Kapi banana brand from Costa Rico. What on earth could those things be sprayed with?
I took in two cases of types that I seldom do, and find myself having to actually do research. Sigh...
It is hot.
