With all these misguided beliefs of happiness under my belt, the waves of discontent still threatened to drown me. I kept treading water with no movement. -- Rebecca Mckown

Welcome to waves in various forms.
Ain't much, but it's about all I got right now.
This is an open thread, so post whatever wave hits you.

A man without decision can never be said to belong to himself; he is as a wave of the sea, or a feather in the air which every breeze blows about as it listeth. -- John Foster Dulles

The political wave is described brilliantly by Kucinich via Taibbi:

After six years, still getting robo-calls from Marriot Hotels.
They're like herpes.

Good morning QMS. Erwin Schroedinger had a function for that. Beyond that, oscillatory
motion, all things cyclic and periodic, which just might actually be all things, period.

Harmonics and harmonies:

Light and sounds,

Longplayer:

go ahead, enter long player in the You tube search box, and in the search engine of your choice, but, there is a longer player, in Tibet and elsewhere, continuously for centuries past and the present:

be well and have a good one

@enhydra lutris

Wavy harmonics like poetry in motion.

Cheers!

QMS, when you are on the water, are you fishing or sailing?
I have neighbors that fish. They are fishing in rivers. One drives to a place to fish from the riverbank. The other has a boat and fishes almost year round, I think, depending on the weather on a given day, and how recently he caught a fish. I gather his fishing license limits how often he can catch one. And though he loves being on the water, and gives away most of what he catches, he only goes out when he can hope to catch a fish.
Whichever you are doing, I hope your day is an enjoyable one.

@Granma

I am not a fisher among men. It is the sailboats I play with (actually work). Although I did fish a lost halyard out of a sheave box today, using snakes and grabbers, messengers, pokers and prods. Hope your friend shares the bounty of his catch with you!

Then the bowsprit got mixed with the rudder sometimes:
A thing, as the Bellman remarked,
That frequently happens in tropical climes,
When a vessel is, so to speak, "snarked."

But the principal failing occurred in the sailing,
And the Bellman, perplexed and distressed,
Said he had hoped, at least, when the wind blew due East,
That the ship would not travel due West!

Hunting of the Snark, Fit the Second

They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care;
They pursued it with forks and hope;
They threatened its life with a railway-share;
They charmed it with smiles and soap.

Hunting of the Snark, fit the fifth

be well and have a good one
