True, and I avoided it until now

but I find it a handy place to dump some stuff rather than just dump them into my Bookmarks where I will never find them again. I do keep stuff private and have no friends. = )

I do not know for sure if it works the same if you do not have an account. If you click on the video, it will bring up the video in a smaller window. At the top right there is a drop down arrow where the Embed request is found. Sometimes it just says Embed; other times, there is an extra kink to click on to get the embed code (usually the last link). Unless it is a Youtube or Vimeo, you cannot download them as far as I know.

Once you have the embed code and you want to post it here, just click where you want it to go and paste the code. Publish/Send.
