Obama blasted for black bullying

Leslie Wimes, a community activist in Florida, penned an intensely personal op-ed taking it to President Barack Obama for suggesting it would be "a personal insult" if black Americans fail to turn out in support of Hillary Clinton.

Leslie is not holding back.....

She warns the President to watch his mouth:
I recently wrote that Black America really didn’t want to see you go, but if you keep talking like this, we’ll hold the door open for you.......

She turns his argument back on the Pres:
Hillary Clinton hasn’t always been a friend to our community, so should we take it as a personal insult that you are now trying to tie our respect for you with a vote for her?......

She checks his assumed influence over the community:
You can’t make us love and support Hillary Clinton by turning it into some insult to you. All you can do is make us look at you with a side eye. Right now I’m side-eyeing the hell out of that personal-insult comment.....

And then she transposes his comments in historical terms for the ultimate effect:
It actually stinks of the house Negro telling the field Negroes to go support the mistress or we all are goin’ get in trouble, and I’m sure you don’t want us to feel like that, Mr. President.

If Obama wasn't totally corrupted when he was elected in 2008 (an iffy proposition), he most certainly is by now. He's a living illustration of Lord Acton's theorem ("Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely").

There is no justice. There can be no peace.

And that's why nobody in a democracy is permitted absolute power or to be above the law. And if they take it anyway, they need to be promptly deposed.

Hard to do, though, when the whole system of checks and balances has been corrupted before anyone really noticed...

Terribly sad to see the President of the United States speaking and behaving as he is.

Reeks of desperation, and clearly part of whatever deal he made to get the Clinton support in 2008. He paid w-a-a-y too much for that.

What a loss. Or as the Tundra Tart said: "How's that hopey changey thing workin' out for ya'"

and will be to many. Inspiring in the way that it is important to make our voices heard. Inspiring in the way that it is best to take a stand. Inspiring in the way that it doesn't matter who you are standing up to and being heard.

I hope this op-ed goes viral. Good

I am not black or a minority, but I can identify with her outrage because I felt the very same anger when Gloria Steinem and Madeline Albright chastised women for not supporting Hillary. The Clinton campaign, either directly or through her surrogates, has managed to insult nearly every voting demographic except the wealthy. Hillary Clinton has such a sense of entitlement and hubris that is difficult to conceal. Now we are seeing that hubris in Obama himself. They are not winning votes.

I'm white and middle aged but for him to so cynically use race, or at the very least coded racial appeals like this just pisses me off to no end. For him to take what in many ways is an almost openly bigoted stance, like the black community OWES him, he makes a mockery of the very real racism he himself was subjected to along with every other person of color in this country. And it is the same cheap mockery of feminism that Albright and Steinem used - women who were themselves subjected to real sexist discrimination back in their day, using that to get younger women to vote against their own self interests. These people deserve that special place in hell!

a creepy side to this: he wouldn't make appeals to race to get himself elected, but he's willing to do it to get Hillary elected?

Raw identity politics for the sole sake of identity is getting old. And it seems I'm not the only person annoyed at being talked down to by my self-appointed "betters."

I did not post a video of him saying it only because he probably supports both Obama and Clinton very strongly.

He is such a tolerant man that he can praise FDR's greatness, even though he and his family were interned. That is a big man. Although I often praise FDR, I don't know if I would in his shoes. So, I did not want to disrespect him by using a video of him that way.

I think it might even be racist for him to assume that black people don't think for themselves and will just follow the black President because he is black. I can vaguely remember 2008 and having the ToP crowd attack people as racist who said that some black people were supporting him simply because he was black. You know, like Hillary's `I'm with her`.

Straight talk from Leslie Wines! Love it!

Obama is far from alone in the category of black elitists attempting to manipulate working class blacks into supporting one of the most racist politicians in American history.

When Jesse Jackson made an appearance at Occupy L.A. I was part of the crowd shouting him down with chants of Go home One Percenter!.

I am on record accusing the entire Black Congressional Caucus of being race traitors:
http://caucus99percent.com/comment/reply/7398/166403

I stand by my opinion and suspect Leslie Wines agrees. We all recall the despicable statement John Lewis made about Bernie. I slammed Chauncey Devega for selling out and I haven't changed my opinion:

Alan Dershowitz belongs in hell for this crap:

This is an extremely difficult election for discussing racial issues and racism. It can be done without using the language of skinhead racists, but it won't be easy.

Thank-you Leslie Wimes.

Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.

I have always thought that BLM as a movement was also in a way a revolt or heavy suspicion against the traditional political order in African American communities and within the democratic party. Obama's appeal may not be going anywhere.

Lets hope it goes nowhere! He's attempting to Blackmale, guilt and bully already marginalized, abused and police-terrorized Black people into voting for a racist psychopath because she'll sell off her country in a profitable-for-her, hostile corporate take-over, which he's also pushing, which will kill life on the planet for extra profit and claiming that refusal to vote for suicide in this manner causes disrespect for his legacy? He's just disrespected himself in one sense and the entire Black community in another - his legacy already stinks, even if not as badly as Hillary's record.

Edited because The Typo Queen should have moved her dinner out of the way to properly access the keyboard before posting, lol.

http://act.colorofchange.org/sign/terence-crutcher-justice/

Terence Crutcher died for being Black. Indict Officer Betty Shelby.

Terence Crutcher needed help. But instead, he got a bullet.

On Friday night, Terence, a father of four, was on his way home from class at Tulsa Community College when his car stalled in the middle of the road. Someone called the police. And instead of helping him, officers jumped out of their vehicles with guns drawn while helicopters circled in the sky filming the entire incident. The officers in the helicopter can be heard on video saying "He looks like one bad dude. He must be on something."

Terence died because he was Black. There's no other reason for someone to be killed by police when they are unarmed, walking slowly away with their hands up. He posed absolutely no threat. To make matters worse, after Officer Betty Shelby killed him, Tulsa Police let Terence Crutcher bleed out on the street, while they went to console and comfort Officer Shelby. He died in the hospital a few hours later.

This kind of continued disregard for Black life is enraging. Officer Betty Shelby killed someone. She should not be on administrative leave, sitting at home collecting a paycheck. Terence Crutcher's family and local activists in Tulsa are calling for Officer Shelby to be arrested and criminally charged. Let's join them and make sure this officer is held accountable. ...
