No woman should ever be forced by the state to bring a pregnancy to term, ever

Cross posted at TOS. I don't know how to insert pictures here, but this is the text.

If a woman gets pregnant and doesn’t want to have a child, the state should under no circumstances compel her to do so. If the woman’s community convinces her, for whatever reasons, to have the child, that’s cool. If the woman’s conscience tells her to go through with the pregnancy even though she has grave concerns, that’s cool. If the woman planned to get pregnant and bring a much wanted child into being, that’s the coolest of all. But the state has no place in that decision, none at all, not even a tiny place in that decision, period, end of story. This should have been settled 50 years ago. It sucks that it’s still a thing.

Pregnancy and birth have inherent risks and may cause significant permanent damage. We are no longer chattel to bleed and die in childbirth as a punishment for he "sin of Eve". The cons have never gotten over the sexual revolution and are hell bent on depriving women of autonomy

I completely agree - succinctly and very well said. Thank you.

Trump said something dumb, which really ought not to be news by this point in the campaign. He's actually pro-choice, he's faking it on this issue, and doesn't know all the standard right-wing anti-abortion talking points by heart. So Chris Matthews gave him a pop quiz and he flunked it.

Bernie's take on all this:

"[B]ecause media is what media is today, any stupid, absurd remark made by Donald Trump becomes the story of the week. Maybe, just maybe, we might want to have a serious discussion about the serious issues facing America."

That's the simple truth. Of course, Hillary and her allies are now in faux outrage mode because Bernie dared to suggest anything could be more serious than the latest dumb thing Trump just said.

I am so tired of politicians playing doctor without medical licenses. If a regular person tried that they would be in prison. I think they should be brought up on charges, just to make a point if nothing else.
