Nightwish: Greatest Show On Earth
As a 'refugee' from the now deceased Jackpine Radicals forum, I plan on primarily posting things geopolitical.
Furthermore, I am counting on you folks to point out errors in my use of history or my interpretations.
I am 67, a child of the Cold War who grew up an 'army brat'. Every 3 years we would move from Ft. Lewis in Washington State to Germany then back again.
I participated in those old "Duck and Cover drills. Regardless of where we lived, we kids knew that we were on Ground Zero-we knew there was no way any of us could survive the fireworks.
That all said, I wanted my first post to be about this particular song by the band Nightwish.
Nightwish is a symphonic metal band out of Finland. While they are huge throughout Europe, it is rare that I meet someone here in the US who has even heard of them.
This song is slightly over 20 minutes but I urge the listener to follow it to the end credits. I believe it sorta exemplifies my current feelings on where my country is taking us.
(I hope this posts)

When I went to the youtube version it gave the CC option. It fooled me for a bit (as I rarely use that option) due to extended instrumental parts but it did work.
Hope you have found this a new place for your ideas!
