News That Suits My Sense of Humor
Supposedly, a glass ceiling was broken recently. I hope no one got cut on the shards.
Meanwhile, it looks like many in the media thought the story was a bit ho-hum to the point that they displayed photos of WJC instead of HRC along with their stories. The author tries to pin the "oversight" on sexism. Personally, I think it is karma.
The Chicago Tribune and The Orlando Sentinel get the headlines right, but then both displayed images of former president Bill Clinton under them. Why did these editors promote their front pages with Bill Clinton’s image and not that of the historic nominee?
...
“Bill Clinton was the featured speaker. Hillary Clinton didn’t appear except for a video,” Cutter added. “I’m not going to run a file photo of a live event.”
...
But they are not alone: The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and The Buffalo News (see their explanation below) did it too.
...
I guess it could have been worse: The Oregonian didn’t even put Hillary Clinton’s nomination in their front-page headline. Instead, editors there did include her mugshot in a one-column wrap-up of Democratic convention news. They ran the history-making news on an inside page with a photo of women delegates holding placards of “HILLARY” in big, block letters. So there’s that.
Edit to add: It is 6:30 am, and I have been up long enough, I think. So , be nice and I will see you all in x hours. = )

Karma..., indeed. I'm laughing, quite frankly.
I remember all the times in the last year+ that headlines blared a story about Bernie..., and the photos and/or videos showed pix of $Hillary instead.
I also remember when WJC became prez and he said we'd be getting a two-fer because his wife was so smart..., so why not put WJC out there - again - because in spite of everything he was a "popular" prez. She, on the other hand, is STILL NOT popular with anyone except her Hillbots and sometimes Mendacious Moronic Media.
IF she is "elected" (by fraud, voter disenfranchisement, and hacked e-voter machines again), he'll be with her in the WH..., and have access to "leaders" he still knows, or wants to know through her, and like when they had her server in their basement when she was SoS, he had access to it, info in those emails, and he would have been able to use that info for his money-laundering schemes. How much more smoothly will that go if he runs his business out of the White House...?
What goes around comes around, and if photos of her are left out of stories about her..., so fucking what?

Considering that HRC plans to put him in charge of the
economy, maybe the press thought we needed a reminder that he would be co-president.
I cannot quite understand how people who understand his racist policies and economic boons to Wall St. think that this is in any way a good thing and "vote" for them anyway. I said somewhere else that I have not heard at any time them saying anything about repealing or changing the awful stuff he did. It is like oh, well, that didn't work out so well for ya and we are not going to fix it but vote for us anyway.

Anything Clintonesque baffles me
Four years ago immediately after the election the 2016 election was mentioned, there was speculation about candidates..., and I said "Anybody but a Bush or a Clinton. We do not need any political dynasties."
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. All those lies, the scandals, the illegal things regarding emails, the private server, ad nauseaum.
I'm still baffled why she has been shoved down our throats as the perfect candidate who would make a "good" president. (She would NOT.)

Beyond HRC's own egotism, there
are some powers that need to fulfill their own agenda. That agenda is not going to be healthy for the rest of us. Democrats are fond of saying that Trump is the culmination of the downfall of the Republican Party while ignoring the fact that HRC is the downfall of the Democratic Party.

Yeah, some are celebrating broken glass, a cop call
in some places. And we are supposed to cheer a recycled (to horror of some) also-ran from 2008. After seeing some of the more blatant shenanigans exposed to plop her in our laps. She has never walked in less-expensive shoes (or pantsuits) than the majority here. A woman of the people is laughable.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I would say that the actual glass ceiling that was
broken would be the one that has been dented since 2000...the blatant Non-election of a president. HRC will have been appointed president (if she makes it) by the elite, not elected.

It's really so very sad that I feel no joy seeing the first
woman candidate for president. I am disgusted with and embarrassed for and ashamed of her. One thing's for sure --- she definitely and truly represents the values of the 1% the world over --- values that devalue human beings. Dr King's words echo in my soul --- that Capitalism will always divide us and will continue to contaminate the soul and spirit of America --- and America needs a revolution of values
Her gender is female, but the qualities that
we tend to value as "belonging" to women are non-existent in her. Empathy is one. Peace keeper is another. HRC will possibly be our last female president IF "elected" for a very, very long time as she is going to leave a very bad taste in the mouths of those who think gender is a qualification when choosing a leader.
I truly do not understand how some people who can see the examples of strong women leaders such as Nina Turner and Tulsi Gabbard can even think that HRC represents what a woman leader should be like.

!st woman candidate
Technically HRC is not the first woman candidate for President. On July 14, 2012, Stein received the official nomination of the Green Party for President at its nominating convention in July in Baltimore. The fact that the Green Party is not considered a "major" party doesn't change that Jill was the first woman nominee for President.
Thanks loves! That fact helps me feel a whole helleva
lot better --- :). I'm so happy you shared this fact!
Victoria Woodhull got there long before Jill
In 1872, to be exact, on the Equal Rights Party ticket. That it was a minor, splinter party and that neither the campaign nor the party amounted to anything are beside the point. She was there first.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Sonia Johnson ran in 1984, nominated by *two* parties,
the U.S. Citizens Party and the Peace and Freedom Party.

Stein and other earlier examples
of women who ran for president is why there are so many qualifiers that have to be added to any statements regarding HRC's nomination.

I don't remember that well but
I don't think she was the party's nominee. I think she thought about running or ran briefly but withdrew. That was the Hart cheating and Biden plagiarizing year, I think.

White-suited Purity
The all-white suit was symbolic of Hill's purity, because she wasn't indicted after all, so all is forgiven. Kind of like Jesus rising from the dead, but in reverse, because WE are taking on her sins while she's been forgiven for them. Quite the political fashion statement.
Good lord lol --- really!? I didn't watch the crowning.
How pretences. Oh man she really has some fucking arrogant nerve --- wow, just wow. Definitely cringe worthy!
The masses might think of a white suit as
standing for purity, but the 1% will recognize the plantation owners garb.

what am i missing?
this doesn't make sense to me. i didn't watch the speech. Clinton only appeared in video? they can't get a still shot from a video? besides, there should be plenty of stock photos to print.
If you want to see the queenly acceptance of
adoring applause, then you might want to see it. Otherwise, it is rather stomach turning. She breaks the "glass ceiling" in the video and then just stands and nods while the crowd cheers. it is a grand display for the peasants.
I did not watch the convention. I just saw the video.
