More examples of why Pelosi needs to go

Speaker Pelosi went on the talk shows recently and showed exactly why she is useless.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) quipped Wednesday that it would be nice if Mitt Romney was president.
"Wouldn’t be nice if he were president of the United States?” she asked during a Los Angeles Times event, according to the Boston Globe.

What is it with Democrats and mainstream Republicans?

However, this wasn't the only TV appearance for Pelosi.
She made another one that was even more enlightening.

Pelosi said in an interview on ABC's "The View" that she was ready to leave had Hillary Clinton become president, putting a woman at the top. But Clinton lost, and so she must remain, Pelosi said, as she recounted a White House dinner last month where she was the only woman at the table....
"I was ready to go if Hillary won, have a woman at the top of the table, protecting the Affordable Care Act, which is to me similar to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid," Pelosi said.

It's interesting that she thinks a neoliberal woman would be significantly better than a neoliberal man.
However, what caught my attention was later in the interview.

Meghan McCain shot right back at Pelosi, responding, “That’s from winning, though. I mean, President Trump is in the White House, so there’s a breakdown someplace.”
“This is our turn,” Pelosi said, before repeating the Democrats’ new slogan, “Better deal, better jobs, better pay, better future for the American people” and asserting that the Democrats’ sole problem is in its messaging.

"This is our turn"???
You mean like it was Hillary's turn last year?!? WTF?
And that isn't the worst part of the interview. Between "this is our turn" and the slogan she spoke the most important part of the interview:

This is the first time since 2006, when we won the Congress. This is the first time that House [Democrats] are communicating with the American people...

Double WTF?!? Where have you been for the past decade?

anywhere unless she wants to. What makes someone rise to the top of the Democratic leadership is one big thing...the ability to fund raise. The Democratic party elevated fund raising way above winning. And Pelosi is without peer in her ability to fund raise. In the end, it always is about money.

Pelosi might not have a choice.

Money doesn't mean everything. If it did Hillary would be president.

In elections, we found out that the biggest spender did not win. But within the structure of the party, it does mean nearly everything. They are f*cking addicted to money.

Exactly. And they really believe that money can buy everything - because enough of it invariably buys them.

They're well-paid to lose elections, they can always become lobbyists, and the Berniecrats have renewed their collective pretense of standing for something. Sure, the world will go to Hell in a handbasket as things stand. They can always buy luxurious beachfront mansions out around Point Barrow, Alaska to live out their declining days as Global Warming Earth turns into beginning-period Triassic Earth, except with a 2% hotter sun.

Most of the rest of suburban America has become like that character "Jerry Smith" in the cartoon series Rick and Morty: when confronted with the full glory of the universe we prefer to continue bickering away at our dysfunctional marriage. In America's case, it's a marriage to the Democrats.

1) Because no one who replaces her will prove to be progressive in the end; and

b) The longer she remains in the spotlight, the better it is for those of us who would like to see the entire system collapse.

When the system collapses and the veneer of respectability of politics and government is removed, there will not be a revolution.

Corporate will step in, assume the functions of government, and make the trains run on time. They are the only institutions with the organization and cash to make that happen, absent the government.

Once they're done poisoning the political well, it won't mean revolution, it will be the End Game.

Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.

It's 'their turn' to be out, to be the 'good but helpless cop who'll fix everything the next time they're in, only they can't because the other guys don't like the public having anything' while the other guys have their turn to be out, to be the 'good cops who are fighting the bad cops, but will fix everything the next time they're in'.

But what are the Dems 'communicating for the first time' to the American people other than 'FU - shut up, bend over and take it' and what used to be labeled as 'right-wing' 'scare and 10 minutes of hate' tactics in favour of enriching their paymasters and therefore their personal bonuses and investments in attacking even more other people's countries to kill them and steal their stuff at American taxpayer cost, while poverty increases and the country falls apart from 'cost-effective' neglect intended to increase privatization-for-private-profit of essential public property?

Oh, that and 'we're capitalists, we drain the public and country of money and power because those we take it from you for give us kick-backs, and that's just the way it is.'

Now, that's something to vote for something else against that, isn't it?

(Edited to add a missed space above and the following.)

They're communicating their psychopathic soulessness, what's being termed 'conservative' or 'Republican' or 'right-wing' but is really just the pathological corporate culture which I believe to have been brought into government and industry in the US (and other countries) by Nazis via projects such as Paper Clip...

This is something to give a general idea and to make the point adequately; best read in full at source, if whatever device used can manage it - and the book mentioned here certainly sounds interesting:

Behind the secret plan to bring Nazi scientists to US

By Maureen Callahan

February 1, 2014

As the Allied troops advanced through France in November 1944, three experts in biological weapons huddled, by candlelight, in a grand apartment in Strasbourg, France, guarded by US soldiers.

The scientists were poring through documents left behind by Dr. Eugen Haagen, a high-ranking Nazi who specialized in weaponizing deadly viruses. They were looking for evidence of the Third Reich’s progress in atomic and biochemical warfare; what they found were chronicles of devastating carnage. ...

...Within the year, hundreds of the Third Reich’s upper echelon would be relocated to the United States, where they would be given excellent jobs, healthy salaries, and all the benefits of living in a free society.

It was a secret program known as Paperclip, and it remains one of the most complicated and controversial epochs in American history. And, still, one of the most classified.

In her new book “Operation Paperclip: The Secret Intelligence Program to Bring Nazi Scientists to America” (Little, Brown and Company), author Annie Jacobsen uses newly released documents, court transcripts, and family-held archives to give the fullest accounting yet of this endeavor — one shared by the British, the French, and the Russians, all of whom enlisted and embraced top Nazis. ...

...Simultaneously, the US government was learning more and more about just what the Nazis had done: the extermination of millions of Jews; the mass sterilization, the live experiments and operations conducted without anesthesia on humans code-named “adult pigs,” the systematic yanking of gold teeth, the slave labor and starvation, the drowning of men in ice-cold tubs and the many failed attempts to resurrect them, the exploding bodies forced into high-altitude chambers in efforts to master space flight.

“German science presents a grim spectacle,” wrote Dr. Leopold Alexander, a Viennese Jew who immigrated to the US in 1933. When the US entered the war, Alexander enlisted, and at its end was sent to Germany to determine what the Nazis had wrought and learned medically.

“Grim for many reasons,” he continued. “First it became incompetent and then it was drawn into the maelstrom of depravity of which this country reeks — the smell of concentration camps, the smell of violent death, torture and suffering.”

He went on to call the Third Reich’s experimentation “really depraved pseudoscientific criminality . . . It sometimes seems as if the Nazis had taken special pains in making practically every nightmare come true.”

Meanwhile, the Allies held elite Nazis in two luxurious locales: the Palace Hotel in Luxembourg, renamed “Ashcan,” and Crane Mountain Castle in Hesse, Germany, renamed “Dustbin.”

Here, the most warped and wicked Nazis lounged in well-appointed rooms, strolled through apple orchards, played chess, smoked and drank, and gave each other lectures in grand halls. In the mornings, Hitler’s doctor taught a workout class. ...

...The War Department moved quickly. In July, they made their top-secret project official, circulating a memo titled “Exploitation of German Specialists in Science and Technology in the United States.”

Jacobsen writes that President Truman “was not made aware of the initiative,” which was initially known as Operation Overcast.

Months later, when the War Department began tagging the files of their most reprehensible Nazi recruits with paper clips as intra-office code — these Nazis were truly to be smuggled in, made known to no other bureaucracies — the program became known as Operation Paperclip.

Meanwhile, Truman ordered the Department of Commerce to propagandize the advances made by the Nazis, ones that were now making Americans’ lives easier, more comfortable: Women could buy stockings that wouldn’t run, butter churned so fast and juice now sterilized so simply that there would be an abundance for all. Electrical equipment that had once been the size of crates was no bigger than your smallest finger.

By January 1946, two months after the Nuremberg trials had begun, there were more than 160 Nazis — many with their families — living and working in the United States. ...

...In November 1946, shortly after 10 Nazis were executed at Nuremberg by US Master Sgt. John C. Woods (“I hanged those 10 Nazis . . . and I am proud of it”), news broke that the US had smuggled hundreds of Nazis into the country, and that about 1,000 more were coming. (The final count was close to 1,600.) The government attempted damage control, then message control: These men, so mild-mannered with their silver hair and American sport jackets, had never been members of the Nazi party. The Army disseminated pictures of the men and their families engaged in wholesome outdoor activities, and any reporter requesting an interview had to submit their copy, pre-publication, to the army for approval.

Not everyone was fooled. Eleanor Roosevelt publicly decried the program, as did Albert Einstein. By March 1947, Paperclip had generated such lacerating public opinion that General Eisenhower, then the US Army chief of staff, demanded a briefing. It lasted 20 minutes, and upon emerging, Eisenhower said he approved of the project.

The legacy of Paperclip, Jacobsen writes, speaks to the triumph of pragmatism and self-interest above unthinkable atrocity. ...

Having trouble finding any that mention such as the Bush family and other Hitler-supporting industrialists involvement with this - gee, I wonder why...

Might be something in here, but I'm too tired to go poking though:

Records of the Secretary of Defense (RG 330)
Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency

Notice to Researchers in Records Released under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act and the Japanese Imperial Government Records Act

The Nazi War Crimes and Japanese Imperial Government Records Interagency Working Group (IWG), in implementing the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act and the Japanese Imperial Government Records Act, has taken the broadest view in identifying records that may be responsive to the Acts. Information relevant to the Acts is often found among files related to other subjects. In order to preserve the archival integrity of the files, the IWG and the National Archives and Records Administration, where possible, have released entire files together, not just those items related to Nazi or Japanese war criminals, crimes, persecution, and looted assets. These records may relate to persons who are war criminals, former Axis personnel who are not war criminals, victims of war crimes or persecution, or civilian or military personnel investigating Nazi activities; the records may also include mention of, or information about, persons having no connection to these activities.

The Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA) was established in 1945 as a subcommittee of the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). The JIC served as the intelligence arm of the JCS, responsible for advising the JCS on the intelligence problems and policies and furnishing intelligence information to the JCS and the Department of State. The JIC was composed of the Army's director of intelligence, the chief of naval intelligence, the assistant chief of Air Staff-2, and a representative of the Department of State.

The JIOA was given direct responsibility for operating the foreign scientist program, initially code-named Overcast and subsequently code-named Paperclip. The JIOA was composed of one representative of each member agency of the JIC, and an operational staff of military intelligence officers from the different military services. Among the JIOA's duties were administering the program's policies and procedures, compiling dossiers, and serving as liaison to British intelligence officers operating a similar project. It was also responsible for collecting, declassifying, and distributing Combined Intelligence Objectives Subcommittee (CIOS) and other technical intelligence reports on German science and industry. In addition, the JIOA took over many of the activities of CIOS when that organization was terminated. The JIOA was disbanded in 1962.

This series consists of personnel dossiers on over 1,500 German and other foreign scientists, technicians, and engineers who were brought to the United States under Project Paperclip and similar programs. Among the dossiers are those on Georg Rickhey, a former official at the Nordhausen underground V-2 rocket factory who arrived in 1946 but who left the United States in 1947 when he was tried (and acquitted) for war crimes by a U.S. military tribunal; Walter Schreiber, who had been instrumental in medical experiments on concentration camp inmates and who fled the United States to Argentina in 1952 after the appearance of a newspaper column about his activities; and, Arthur Rudolph who had been a V-2 project engineer and who left the United States in 1984 following the Department of Justice's discovery of his role in the persecution of prisoners at the Nordhausen factory. Not included among the dossiers is one for rocket scientist Wernher von Braun. It was never transferred to NARA.

In any event, these psychopaths were brought in, normalized pathology and influenced the intertwined US corporate/political culture, as I believe to be evident.

Certainly, there were psychopathic individuals already present in these, who supported Hitler even through war-time and knowing poisoned consumer sand the general population, as well as workers without providing even minimal protections for the latter which might have cost, 'some pennies per worker', but I believe this influx of Nazi's to have reinforced and solidified the acceptance of callousness and even outright sadism in America as a successful way of 'doing business' with regard for nothing but self-interest and profit, both as industrialists and politicians, and helped to concentrate psychopaths at the top in both areas.

This also, I suspect, explains a lot in some of the more sickening actions officially countenanced or ordered within the US military since that time, which appear to come right out of the Nazi playbook, although admittedly common to certain psychopaths and psychopathic cultures.

Too tired to be trying to write, lol, hope this makes the point, which I feel to be important.

None of this is integral to American culture or to properly regulated and responsible business; it is inherent to psychopaths, who must be kept out of positions where they can exert power over, and cause harm to, others.
