Missing Precinct Data Turns Up Something Interesting

~

This morning on The Hill's Rising, Bernie Sanders senior advisor, Chuck Rocha, shared some interesting information that was not only uplifting, but has some real implications for the race going forward.

~

~

Essentially the message is this: All the groundwork Bernie's campaign did in neighborhoods most candidates ignore, paid off. Bernie won 98% of the satellite caucuses in working class precincts that were predominately Latino, Muslim, & African-American. Maybe those numbers don't mean much themselves in a very white Iowa, but it definitely shows Bernie's outreach strategy works and could pay-off in Nevada and beyond.

~
~

Also, remember when we were merely a small band of Bernie supporters derided and insulted over at TOP for bringing up the inconsistencies in the vote count during the 2016 Iowa Caucus? Well, it seems the times are a' changing because lo and behold it isn't just us pointing out the "inconsistencies" in the caucus results. Straight from the horses mouth, it's none other than The New York Times saying basically the same thing:

Iowa Caucus Results Riddled With Errors and Inconsistencies

Results from the Iowa Democratic caucuses were delayed by “quality control checks” on Monday night. Days later, quality control issues have not been resolved.

The results released by the Iowa Democratic Party on Wednesday were riddled with inconsistencies and other flaws. According to a New York Times analysis, more than 100 precincts reported results that were internally inconsistent, that were missing data or that were not possible under the complex rules of the Iowa caucuses.

In some cases, vote tallies do not add up. In others, precincts are shown allotting the wrong number of delegates to certain candidates. And in at least a few cases, the Iowa Democratic Party’s reported results do not match those reported by the precincts.

Here's Krystal with her take on it. Definitely worth a click:

They don't want a candidate that can defeat Trump (i.e. Bernie Sanders). The DNC wants a stalking horse like Pete Buttigieg that can clear the path for Hillary Clinton to ride to the rescue of god and country.

Elizabeth Warren makes me uncomfortable just listening to her speak.
My bullshit meter short circuits and I get pushy ~ in the nicest of ways.

But she again doesn't answer the question. Must be a lawyer thing to filibuster a question you don't know how to answer.

(site lawyers exempt)

Pushy? Is that anything like uppity?

BTW this got a pass on DK.

@snoopydawg
But in a world where you get called racist for opposing Social Security cuts and NSA surveillance--not to mention drone strikes--in a world where Warren herself used the most toxic of IDPOL as a crass political gesture, this reeks of unsurprising hypocrisy. And of a slightly surprising naivete, like she's using identity politics in its most simplified and toxic form but doesn't really understand how the tool she's using works.

Most white Democratic politicians support Black people the same way I'd support a nice insole in my shoe. A hasty observer might conclude that the insole is supporting me, but the adults in the room know better.

Lots of people thought Warren was the darling of the left, but any thoughts to that went out the window when she started running for president. Bernie never would have come close to beating Her if Warren had accepted the role herself.

about her. Of course she needs to be interviewed about Trump being impeached because...I'm..well because she should be president instead of him. Still

I know people don't want to hear anything from Her anymore, but take just 4 minutes and listen to what she says and at the end how she didn't want to be Obama's Secretary of State, but she did it anyway for the good of the country.

Hillary on Ellen

While Clinton suggested she and other Democrats were “moving on” after Trump’s acquittal, she urged voters to “pay attention” and ensure that the president is “held accountable” for his actions.

“Now the way to do that is in the election,” she said.

Clinton ― who is currently promoting a Hulu docuseries, “Hillary” ― also addressed the notion of what she’d say if the eventual Democratic presidential candidate asked her to be vice president.

“No, probably no,” she said.

When DeGeneres pressed further, Clinton pointed to the time when President Barack Obama tapped her to be secretary of state.

I never say never, because I do believe in serving my country,” she said. “But it’s not going to happen.”

The next woman running for pres has to sign agreement not to whine if she loses and promises not to go on a 3 year pity tour, but will fade away like every male presidential candidate has. And she sees nothing wrong with her criticizing Bernie cuz it's not like she's the head of the party still.

Oh for gawd's sake this impeachment is not about her nor is her opinion needed.

She bitches about Trump ruining the hideously flawed ACA, but then says that presidents should keep promises.

no emotions

Ellen brings up Bernie for her to go off on a rant

Then no mfa right now because what trump is doing. She's on the front line of the battle? She said it would never ever happen.

Hold office holder accountable again.

WOuld she be vp? Great job being a tool, Ellen. Oh she was shocked that Obama asked her to be SOS. Why? Cuz the economy. I am not calling you again until you say yes. THen she did it for the good of the country. serving it.

Fightinf for women's rights again. Hello? Walmart? Welfare reform? Black children's rights?

Please listen and comment. It'll be fun.

Hillbots are in for a hard time. With each passing day, the Clinton influence diminishes and the Clinton voting block means less and less. The Sanders turnout in Iowa was stunning. Every one of the Clinton smears about Bernie bros got blown to smithereens, and the outstanding work that the Bernie campaign team has put in to build that diverse a supporter base is what every establishment slimeball didn't want to do but prayed for those results. Weird how Goldman Sachs fundraisers didn't turn out working class immigrants. Does not compute. Bernie groups on Reddit are getting confessions about former Trump supporters planning on voting for Bernie. Weird how "baskets of deplorables" didn't win anyone over. Just... how is this possible?!

@Wally Mayor Mike is going to be March's major centrist opponent for Bernie. This month it's Pete. In January it was Biden.

I hope Bernie has some more humor directed at Pete on the billionaire donor angle. Hopefully Liz will go after him too -- they tend to compete for the same voters. And this could be her last stand.

Meanwhile the NH polls are sounding a bit nuts. Or are they just cooked a little for Pete? Who knew what happened in Iowa had such clout in faraway NH? Or maybe it's something corporate and toxic in the water in the Granite State?

Used to be New Hampshirites were made of sterner stuff, and laughed at things like Iowans and their corn dogs and peculiar voting proclivities, and shrugged off even being abducted by aliens, as with the charming story of Betty and Barney Hill that some of you old timers here might recall.*

I used to think New Englanders kept their own counsel, were a rugged, independent lot of flinty individualists who would be the last people to be swayed by what a bunch of farmers in Iowa had to say. Apparently by the looks of it, I am misinformed.

* your examples of New Hampshirites showing sterner stuff may vary

and posted it on another thread a few minutes after your post. Hopefully, it will get around so that no one keeps moaning about Bernie folks not doing anything.

The other thing I've noticed is that results from one district remain unreported, at least as indicated in the Des Moines Register listing. I've seen no explanation for that anywhere.

Otherwise, it doesn't result in any differentiation in the allocation of delegates to the national convention whereby they are currently tied.

The damage is done via the MSM as TPTB intended. In this case, I'm specifically referencing the big money meeting Buttigieg with the folks who came out and said they were plotting to defeat Bernie. I will take them at their word.

It's going to be a very wild debate. From all indications, Bernie is going after Buttigieg and his billionaire buddies.

Will Liz just stand by and watch? She might be gun shy because her wine cave shots didn't land and even backfired on her.

Biden is fighting for his life? Is he capable of going after Buttigieg? On any issue? Or taking shots at any other candidate?

We'll see how Bernie fares tonight with the MSM response which will no doubt be brutal.

Stefanopolous is the lead inquisitor.

And then we'll see how it all pans out on Tuesday in NH.

@Wally will again arrange to put Biden's podium right in the center of the stage even though he's no longer the front runner and is polling 4th place in NH, or will his spot and much of the spotlight be devoted to their new centrist favorite Pete.

And how many softball Qs will Petey get tonight?

Will we hear another round of M4A trashing from Steponoffofus, and how long will it take before he presses Sanders on how much more he will tax the middle class? Will we also hear another round of how much Americans supposedly will be upset at losing their current private insurance coverage.

How long into the debate will it be before we hear a question from the mods about how we need to a) increase our troop presence in the ME, b) get tougher on Iran, c) show more support to the illegitimate coup puppet leader Juan Guaido?

And will any of the 7 Dems on stage finally muster up the courage to call out the constant RW framing of issues by the CNN mods or will they continue to pretend that the large pink elephant in the room isn't there?

I wouldn't of course bet a lot on the latter item happening.
