Merely because they are cheap.

I am reading an electronic copy of Great Disasters and Horrors in the World's
History, by A. H. Godbey, copyrighted 1890.
A quote from that ancient tome epitomizes much we here on c99p complain about regarding American Capitalism:
The American is in a hurry: and so if speed be obtained, trains may wreck, vessels collide, or boilers burst, and the coroner’s jury will obligingly render a verdict of “nobody to blame.” Since he also wants things at the bottom market price, he encourages the production of countless unsafe buildings, dams, and similar structures, merely because they are cheap.
Amirite??

Sounds like a quote from
The Jungle.
Americans not knowing their history, makes their lives unknowable.
Now, watch this drive.......

Gëzuar!!
from a reasonably stable genius.
golf is pretty simple
Cheap, impatient consumers
sounds about right. Get a new constitution below retail prices to beat the X-mas rush.
I call it the "crapification" of amerika
Hedges's says this
“We now live in a nation where doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and our banks destroy the economy”
Chris Hedges
I never knew that the term "Never Again" only pertained to
those born Jewish
"Antisemite used to be someone who didn't like Jews
now it's someone who Jews don't like"
Heard from Margaret Kimberley
The quoted lines.....
..... come from the volume's section on the Johnstown Flood of 1889.

"All power corrupts absolutely!" -- thanatokephaloides
Capitalism -- an absudity
I could not think of a more ridiculous system. Consider the absurdity of allowing the most greedy of all of your people the ability to allocate the most precious of resources, capital. Then allow them to live like kings and queens and buy control of your government. "The government should not pick winners and losers" a quote used to justify the complete theft of any decision making by or for the people. Then put a sham "democracy" on top of it where the oligarchs determine the candidates and power them to win with corrupt money, bought and sold. No wonder the quality of statesmen in government today is crap. Where's the friggin debate? It's been all homogenized to protect the oligarchy. While the sheeple are led to the slaughter with fabricated memes. The "issues" today are Russia, illegal immigration, a military budget too small, The Dow not jacked up enough, and nations actually willing to stand up to the hegemon. Oh really? It all stems from Capitalism, the ultimate take over of a society by the rich. If you want a civilization then you are going to have to take it back.
Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.
Yup. And anyone who dares to question capitalism...
Meanwhile, Venezuela is run by an actual statesman.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
