This has got to be the most depressing news that I've seen in a long time.

Rainwater almost everywhere on Earth has unsafe levels of ‘forever chemicals’, according to new research.

Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a large family of human-made chemicals that don’t occur in nature. They are known as ‘forever chemicals’ because they don’t break down in the environment.

They have non-stick or stain repellent properties so can be found in household items like food packaging, electronics, cosmetics and cookware.

But now researchers at the University of Stockholm have found them in rainwater in most locations on the planet - including Antarctica. There is no safe space to escape them.

The US will participate in war games with the Indian military in an area of India that is less than 62 miles away from the country’s disputed border with China, known as the Line of Actual Control (LAN).

The drills will be held from October 18-31 and will be the eighteenth iteration of annual exercises between the two militaries known as Yudh Abhyas, which is Hindi for “war practice.” They will be held in the Auli area of the Indian state of Uttarakhand in the Himalayas mountain range.

The Yudh Abhyas drills are meant to train for fighting in high altitudes. The last iteration of the exercises was held in the mountains of Alaska in October 2021.

Tensions have been high between India and China in the Himalayas since June 2020, when clashes in the Galwan Valley killed 20 Indian troops and four Chinese soldiers. Since then, China and India have been engaged in talks to reduce tensions, but they have also reinforced their militaries along the LAN.

@humphrey Having worked with the elderly for several years, I have told people that I seriously doubt if Biden can dress himself without help. I guess this proves it.

@humphrey enabling the goofy. NO WAY I would have let my husband go out in public with his sun glasses on his nose, or allowed him to twist and turn over a jacket. She made sure the cameras got a clear shot of him. We are seeing more and more of his disabilities on msm. We are being set up for when he is taken out of office.

I don't know who that ahole is, but I wonder if he is going to apply that doctrine to his own children? As in, leave them nothing, tell them to motivate themselves, make it on their own, pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
Yeah. Fat chance that will happen.

the rich have lobbied for decades to end federal taxes on inheritances. I haven't met a rich person who paid taxes. They jump through legal hoops to make sure their heirs do not pay in a dime.
