Looking for a little lightness and liberation

What’s your favourite computer sound?… the sound of an incoming email or message, the sending of one. Maybe it's the sound of the trash being emptied, or something else?

The sound of the trash/bin being emptied on my new macbook is new to me. I really like it. It sounds to me like thin glass or icicles being gently shattered, or crackly paper being torn. I have chosen a different sound for incoming emails, that I find less distracting but nonetheless present.

... at least we still have some choice in life ; ).

some time in the seventies and strolling through DC streets passing by people dancing at the entrances of some bars on the streets. All I thought was, 'Geez, these people have rythm and can dance'. (compared to Germans)

I still think that is true today, just a little less. ... Smile

that I can't stand anymore the noise of my vibrating phone or the little noise it makes when someone sends me a message. I wait for the day I would not need that phone anymore.

So, my favorite sound is total silence and just the sound of our many birds chirping, when I wake up. And I love the wind going through our many birch trees. Me and my sister sit silently just watching and listening to the sounds of our garden.

trees that fell down over the years in our garden, I have 'chopped'? I have the experience.
I am even not allowed by German law to use that kind of chain saw. Need to have a license for that.

the light and liberation as much as you gave it to us all the time here on C99p.

Since days they forecast for us here in my woods storms and rains and so light is sometimes accordingly, they never came.

And now I don't know anymore which light I would prefer.

Sigh, sending you some winds in your direction, hoping they bring you lightness and liberation from the darker clouds.

I keep the sound on my devices off now but I used to have a lot of fun with sounds when friends and acquaintances tagged me in to handle their tech issues back when sound card capabilities had just moved beyond the basic beeps and into real sounds. Almost nobody understood how any of it worked yet so it was a joy for me to re-configure any desktop to which I had access with sound clips like Homer Simpson's D'OH on errors, James Brown's YEAH to signal a download completing, or the computer voice from War Games "would you like to play a game" whenever the user tried to connect to the internet.
