(Judicial Watch scores again): Judge orders Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes to answer written Benghazi questions in Clinton email lawsuit

These guys are at least poking the right people. Everyone knows where the sleeze lies and Judicial Watch has been in there fighting to get the truth out more than anyone. And there lies (IMHO) the ugliest irony of this entire situation; It’s put me and people like me (us) in the uncomfortable position of hoping a right wing organization will bring down the ‘Party’ that I (we) supported for my (our) entire lives. For me it was over 40 years. But it’s all over now. And it makes me angry.

Another irony: it wasn’t the RUSSIANS!!! who destroyed the Democratic ‘Party, it was the Democrat’s own inept corruption that pulled back the curtain and showed us how morally and ethically bankrupt they are. RUSSIA!!! is just the boogeyman under the bed (desk?). TPTB has been throwing evil evil RUSSIA!!! In our faces since the end of WWII. I grew up with it. It has now reached Jump the Shark stage.

Judge orders Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes to answer written Benghazi questions in Clinton email lawsuit

*

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth denied a request by the conservative group Judicial Watch to make Rice and Rhodes sit for depositions, but agreed to have them answer written questions. He also agreed to Judicial Watch's request to depose the State Department about the preparation of talking points for Rice, then President Barack Obama's ambassador to the United Nations, ahead of appearances on political talk shows the Sunday following the attack. That deposition is part of Judicial Watch's inquiry into whether the State Department acted in bad faith by not telling a court for months that they had asked in mid-2014 for missing emails to be returned.

*

Lamberth also allowed Judicial Watch to seek written answers from Bill Priestap, the former assistant director of the FBI's Counterintelligence Division. Priestap, who supervised the bureau's investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server, retired from government service at the end of last year.

*

As part of the discovery, Judicial Watch can depose Jacob Sullivan, Clinton's former senior adviser and deputy chief of staff, and Justin Cooper, a longtime Bill Clinton aide who helped arrange the setup of Hillary Clinton's private email address and server.

Judicial Watch said the discovery period will conclude within 120 days. A post-discovery hearing will then be held to determine whether additional witnesses, including Clinton and her former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, may be deposed

In the long run the truth about how anti-democratic the Democratic Party really is will come out. Of course by that time all the lying seditionists referenced in the above article will have slithered and slimed into a comfortable ‘retirement’ and all us plebs will be left out here to deal with the way they destroyed everything in their greedy power-hungry path.

Somehow, it just doesn’t seem fair.

You're right about this. The Intercept has an article about how Hoover's FBI played the same game that they are playing on Trump on Wallace because he too wasn't against getting along with Russia.

Chris Stephens who died during the Benghazi attack was involved with McCain's transferring weapons to the "Al Qaida moderate Syrian rebels."

People said that congress' many hearings into Benghazi was a waste of time, but that was how we found out that Hillary used the private email server and that she hadn't turned in her emails from her time as Secretary of State. And after she was told to do so she erased 30,000 or more. It doesn't matter if they were personal communications or not. But if anyone wants to see all of them they can be found on Weiner's laptop that the NYC FBI office has. This is why Comey reopened his investigation into the emails. When they were found on his laptop the office wanted to go public with the information. Comey cut the damage off when he did that. No one heard what they were about.

I'm still waiting for Huber to finish his investigation into Comey and company's flawed investigation. But maybe JW will come through and tell us.

Thanks for staying with this.

Weekly Update: Benghazi and Clinton Emails Are Back
JANUARY 11, 2019

Judicial Watch Moves to Question Top Obama-Clinton Officials About Benghazi and Clinton Emails

The Departments of State and Justice will not investigate themselves we now know, and of course we can’t expect any more efforts in the House of Representatives to get to the bottom of Hillary Clinton’s fraudulent behavior in high office.

But Judicial Watch and some courts won’t be intimidated from asking tough questions.

We have submitted a court-ordered discovery plan for the depositions of several top former government officials involved in the Clinton email scandal, including Obama administration senior officials Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, Jacob Sullivan, and FBI official E.W. Priestap.

In it we say that we intend “to update the Court regarding the depositions of Hillary Clinton and Cheryl Mills at the conclusion of the 16-week discovery period, unless the Court believes such notice is not necessary.”

The plan for discovery is the latest development in the July 2014 FOIA lawsuit we filed after the U.S. Department of State failed to respond to our May 13, 2014 FOIA request (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)). We were seeking:

Copies of any updates and/or talking points given to Ambassador Rice by the White House or any federal agency concerning, regarding, or related to the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Any and all records or communications concerning, regarding, or relating to talking points or updates on the Benghazi attack given to Ambassador Rice by the White House or any federal agency.

This lawsuit, you will recall, led directly to the disclosure of the Clinton email system in 2015.

Our discovery plan is a response to a December 6, 2018, ruling by Judge Royce C. Lamberth ordering the State Department and Department of Justice to join us in submitting discovery in three distinct areas:

A. Whether Secretary Clinton’s use of a private email server was intended to stymie FOIA; B. Whether the State Department’s intent to settle the case in late 2014 and early 2015 amounted to bad faith; C. Whether the State Department has adequately searched for records responsive to our request.

In his ruling, Lamberth called Clinton’s use of the private email server “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.”

We are seeking the depositions of former U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and former White House Deputy Strategic Communications Adviser Ben Rhodes about the creation and dissemination of the infamous Benghazi talking points because: “No one other than these individuals know better who they were communicating with and where records might be located.”

We also argue for “direct, unfiltered access to [additional] key witnesses with firsthand knowledge and the opportunity to ask follow-up questions” about the illicit Clinton email system. In its pursuit of answers as to whether former Secretary Clinton’s use of a private email server was intended to stymie FOIA, we want to conduct the following depositions:
...

The ONLY valid reason for Her Heinous to have a personal server at the time was to be able to keep her illegal machinations secret. But, because this server was unsecured, it is almost certain that Russia (and China) have copies.

Of course, they would never reveal this fact. To do so would be completely contrary to the Tradecraft. That is also why I am certain that Russia did not pass on copies of the DNC emails to Wikileaks for dissemination (besides the problem with transfer speeds). There would be little value getting involved in the DNC corruption vis-à-vis Bernie/Hillary and the funding scandal graft.

To be honest, Russia would have had more kompromat on Hillary should she have been elected. Maybe they could have surreptitiously donated to the Clinton Foundation and gained another 20% of the American uranium supplies or continued to work with US oil/gas multinationals in the massive joint ventures that were initiated during the Obama presidency.

@CB

CIA may have been surveilling the candidates and entities like the DNC during 2016. Not just foreign intelligence agencies, but the FBI, or private contractors, or who knows who, may have had access to illegal surveillance.

I think Jeff Carlson's emphasis on NSA Director Rogers shutting down this warrantless surveillance in April 2016 is very significant, and I think the DNC lawsuit against Russia also establishing April 2016 as when they say Russia hacked the DNC is also significant.

https://www.litigationandtrial.com/2018/04/articles/attorney/dnc-lawsuit/

... The core of the DNC’s complaint is, of course, about the hack on their servers, and thus most of the case revolves around claims under the Computer Fraud & Abuse Act (“CFAA”) and the Stored Communications Act (“SCA”).

As the complaint says, “on April 28, 2016, DNC IT staff detected and ultimately confirmed access to the DNC network by unauthorized users.”

https://www.theepochtimes.com/nsa-director-rogers-disclosed-fisa-abuse-d...

... On the same day of the discovery of the FBI's use of private contractors, FBI lawyer Lisa Page sent a text to FBI agent Peter Strzok: "Need to try to fix a HUGE who f-up." Page quickly corrected her typo by texting "Wfo" an abbreviation for the FBI's Washington field office.

... Following the discovery that outside contractors for the FBI were accessing raw FISA data, then-National Security Agency (NSA) Director Adm. Mike Rogers directed the NSA's Office of Compliance to conduct a "fundamental baseline review of compliance associated with 702" at some point in early April 2016 (Senate testimony & page 83-84 of court ruling).

Rogers served concurrently as director of the NSA, commander of the U.S. Cyber Command, and Central Security Service chief from April 2014 to May 2018. Rogers previously was the director for intelligence for both the Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Pacific Command, and as commander of the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and the U.S. 10th Fleet.

... On April 18, 2016, Rogers moved aggressively in response to the disclosures. He abruptly shut down all FBI outside-contractor access. At this point, both the FBI and the DOJ's National Security Division (NSD) became aware of Rogers's compliance review. They may have known earlier, but they were certainly aware after outside-contractor access was halted.

So I guess what I am saying is that the private contractors accessing DNC and other candidate communications could have included the Atlantic Council, or their contractors like CrowdStrike, or whomever. And the assertion that Russia hacked the DNC only after NSA Director Rogers shut down such access is interesting.

@Linda Wood

for the epochtimes article. I want to know who the outside contractors were and why we have them being able to look at people's information? Are they part of the 800 private companies such as Nooz Allen? Or could they possibly be part of the 5 eyes?

On the same day, the DOJ and FBI sought and received a Title I FISA warrant on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. At this point, the FISA court still was unaware of the Section 702 violations.

The article states that after Rogers did that Brennan and Carter wanted him fired. Of course they did. Cant have someone honest fudging up your crooked operations now could they?

I feel bad for the people who Mueller is sentencing for lying to the FBI when people like Brennan who lied to congress face no consequences.

@CB as you in your last couple of paragraphs. What would Russia have gained from leaking those emails? The MSM didn’t really cover the contents of the emails anyway, but it was mostly inner DNC stuff, as you noted. I don’t think anyone has done a definitive study (how could you?) but it seems most people agree they didn’t really have that much influence because the only people following the story, already had their minds made up.

And at the very least, Russia would have probably done better with a president with predictable behavior patterns and a history to go by than Trump, not to mention the oil.

That’s kind of the core issue that the Russiagate promoters never really want to discuss. How has Russia benefitted from any of this? What exactly has Trump done on Putin’s behalf? The Wikileaks is just one more piece of the puzzle that doesn’t fit.

Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.

@Dr. John Carpenter

release of the DNC emails showed evidence of two kinds of crime:

Money laundering, having to do with the Supreme Court decision called McCutcheon, involving bundling and loans to the DNC to get around campaign contribution limits; and

Voter suppression, entering into agreements with state officials in the primaries to close polling places in order to disadvantage Sanders voters.

The hysteria to change the subject and distract attention from the DNC's criminal activity and to fill the media with Russia has been a successful effort to hide this evidence from public view.

My freaking god... Judicial Watch is a freak show and a fraud... because they are only interested in destroying one side, not both and certainly not the system. They are PRO TRUMP and every vile member of his cabal. They would never go after McConnell or any one of those freaks.

That they are trying to force the Clintons to be accountable while ignoring the criminality of the GOP is nothing more than political hit job. And it would be great to hold Bush, Cheney, Clintons, Obama accountable for war crimes. Absolutely. But not by promoting these assholes.

So please, don't promote organizations like this one.

Apparently, Judicial Watch is all we get to uncover the Dem criminals. Mueller is busy, and is trying like hell to draw attention to Trump and away from the criminal behavior by the Dems, and away from his own criminal and seedy behavior.

If not Judicial Watch, then whom? As for jokes, that would be "the system", thinking votes are actually counted and used to elect anyone except for maybe, maybe prom king & queen, and the biggest joke of all is the Democratic Party. It's all a big joke. At least JW is looking and exposing the disgusting pigs in the Dem party, because no one else is, that's for damn sure.

However, I'd wager to guess that most people here already know that

because they are only interested in destroying one side,

As with most media these days.

I'd also wager that most of us here can pick through the information presented and discern what is actually relevant without a fake news warning discouraging us to do so.

But appreciate you chiming in.

FIRST don’t tell me who I can ‘promote’ and who I can’t. I’ve posted many times that one of the things I resent MOST about all this RUSSIA!!! crap is that the Dims are so corrupt I am now having to go to places like JW for the TRUTH. Tell me, are the Dims telling the truth? About anything? Oh wait...we already know the answer to that one. They’ve got a lying corrupt president and his equally corrupt administration and the ‘intelligence’ community to protect. It’s not me in the wrong here. It’s YOU and your whataboutisn argument that wrong here. Have fun wallowing in the mud with the rest of them. Some of us have more ethics and scruples than to blindly accept corruption on this level.

Screw the Dims and their entire family trees. They rigged a primary and told all the Bernie Bros & Bitches to get lost. We weren’t needed and weren’t wanted and we did. And when the Clinton Creature lost they put out the line that we’re all fucking idiot tools of RUSSIA!!! We’re too fucking stupid to have our OWN reasons for hating that lying, corrupt, money grubbing war whore who has screwed up EVERYTHING she’s ever touched. And no other scandal in this country’s history has even come close to what the Dims pulled. And they’re still trying to sell their lies. So ANYWHERE we can get the truth is a GOOD source.

Do check yourself before you start telling people what to do.

And, I agree that it sucks to not only have to rely on a "righty" to expose the shit that we know happened, just have no proof yet, but, to have to defend it as the only way we get to know it, blows too.

Partisan Politics = koolaid drinking imo. As I continue to watch it, I get more disgusted at how people who are otherwise smart, act so dumb. Rah, rah rah! Go team!
