did anybody watch the VP debate?
If so, please give us all the highlights! Describe the drama! The ID optics! The magic words and phrases!
I am on pins and needles.
Aren't you all?
Made the whole debate without a drop of alcohol. Best debate ever!

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
I'm still messing around with chores, and haven't joined Mr M, but, he's already almost half-way through the first episode of the evening, "A Friend In Deed," about a corrupt (killer) Police Commissioner. This isn't my favorite show, but, not bad.
We've just began the second viewing of this set--all the Columbo series episodes (NBC), plus, NBC/ABC Columbo 'movies.' Spans almost 21 years--Falk looks pretty old in the very last one.
Of course, it was very sad that he died from complications of Alzheimer's. Shows how it touches everyone--even money and fame can't inoculate a person from this disease.
His real life wife had a part in several episodes (6 - some parts major, some, not so much)--Shera Danese.
Our favorite recurring (bit) actor was Vito Scotti. A very recognizable character actor, I'd say. (6 episodes)
Our favorite recurring actor who played the part of the murderer was Patrick McGoohan.. (4 episodes - he directed others) IMO, McGoohan's best performance was portraying an Army Colonel, the commandant of a military institute/school. He absolutely nailed that part!
Hope you're doing well. Gonna try to catch up with you Guys at the Photography OT. Got derailed, last Friday. Maybe I can post a couple photos/screenshots of Falk's character from one of the Columbo episodes.
Before I responded I googled Peter Falk, and read about how his life ended, which at first felt tragic, yet somehow fitting. Thank you for further informing his character and life.

Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
Did they talk about what is important for the the rich and the $7.50 per hour for the poor, and how to reconcile the inequality of the economy and the tax code?
Oh, never mind...silly me. Don't bother with the answer that is OBVIOUS.
I think I am laughing to the graveyard, and why the hell not?

#6 I have to see/hear that shit show?
Aaww, Man!
Spare me! Spare me!
Just tell me about it, friend!
a mom came to my office to sign her divorce papers, and her 6 year old son came with her. He grabbed the peppermints from my paralegal's desk. Mom said, "No, you will spoil lunch.," kid replied, Aw, man. He went to the reception room, started tearing up something, Mom corrected him, he said Aw, man! He interrupted the chat between me and Mom..got shushed, Aw, man!
This went on for about 30 minutes.
Aw, man, is the go to phrase in my office.
But it was always "Aaaw, Man!" with emphasis.

Pence just would not shut up, even after multible pro.pts from the useless mod.
Kamala pretty much let him bleat on and on,letting him make an ass of himself.
He interrupted her many times and twice she stopped and turned to him and said "I'm speaking now, do you mind"
Mind you, I have no horse in this race, but Harris won the night.
Pence? Think of Trump on a couple of Valiums.

were asked. They either went back to the last question or droned on about something else. Kamala gave us her whole bio in response to some question that had nothing to do with her background. She has definitely picked up Joe Biden's penchant for story telling. She also let us know that she has now changed her mind on Marijuana because Joe thinks it should be legalized??? When did that happen? She has changed her positions so many times since she started running, I don't think she has any core convictions. Pence does have core convictions and they all stink.
So once again, a bowl of shit. You can go first on which half to eat.

the hour that I could stand it. Harris reciting her well rehearsed bio was gag worthy. As were most of her mannerisms and comments. She's doing the Obama chameleon act (no wonder he thinks she's top drawer); only not as slick as he was and has more of a record that contradicts her latest claims. Pence does wear his mask of sanity very well.
(There were a couple of politicians that Joe could have picked that would have gotten me to vote for him. Harris wasn't one of them.)

At one point Kamala is talking about Russia/Putin (of course) and Pence retorted with Trump moving the embassy in Israel. Pence also mentioned taxes more than anything else iirc -- regardless of what they were actually talking about.
Haven't read all the comments here, but did anyone else notice Pence's left eye? When he looked at Kamala, it was deep, dark red on the left side of the iris. The rest of that eye was slightly red, but the left side looked horribly red. Did I dream that pink eye is an early symptom for some covid patients, or is it actually a thing?

The inter-tubes are all aflame regarding Pence's pink eye. From what I've seen, it is indeed something that can show up with COVID infection.
Would he Pence come to the debate while infected? My money would be on "Yes."
Does he have it? Who knows. The Trump administration is packed full of immoral liars from top to bottom, so we may never know.

I heard a Fly buzz - when I died -
The Stillness in the Room
Was like the Stillness in the Air -
Between the Heaves of Storm -
The Eyes around - had wrung them dry -
And Breaths were gathering firm
For that last Onset - when the King
Be witnessed - in the Room -
I willed my Keepsakes - Signed away
What portion of me be
Assignable - and then it was
There interposed a Fly -
With Blue - uncertain - stumbling Buzz -
Between the light - and me -
And then the Windows failed - and then
I could not see to see -

Hey, this was an historic event--first time a presidential
candidate, debated the opposing vice presidential candidate!
Seriously, glad it's over.
If I were a beating person, (I'm not) I'd put my money on HHJ backing out, which he's already brought up.
Also, I'd refuse (if I were OM) to agree to 'virtual' debate, since HHJ would probably use a teleprompter, or cue cards, in that situation.
(he's clearly done so, in video interviews that I've seen of him)
Got another date this evening, with Peter Falk. Hooked on 'Columbo,' again.
Everyone have a great evening.
Mollie
Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
"Hooked on Columbo"
I might have to revisit that character I enjoyed as well, at some time.
Now a Columbo and HHJ debate would be interesting ; ).
Hi, Janis--nice to see you! Now,
that would be an interesting debate.
