OMAHA, Neb. — More than 80 U.S. Army Reserve soldiers stationed in the metro area are heading to the Middle East to join the war on terror.
The farewell ceremony for the 561st Regional Support Group took place Friday morning. Organizers say so many family and community members wanted to attend, they had to move the event to Omaha's Salem Baptist Church.

If we really wanted to fight the ‘War on Terror’ we’d drone the Pentagon. That’s where most of the fear felt by humans all over the globe comes from.

Not true.
Increasing numbers of challenger candidates -- on both left and right -- are making Forever War an issue in their campaigns. The rightists cite the money costs; the leftists, the blood costs. They wouldn't be using those issues if nobody really noticed.
The centrist slime, of course, want Forever War to continue, well, forever. But it's being challenged, more and more, thank the Ultimate.

Most people have no real idea
how many people and military bases we have everywhere. Ask someone how many we have. I made the remark that we have over 30,000 troops in about 750 foreign military bases, stations and outposts once and only one person said that “it was possible” or something and the other 2 or 3 (? can’t remember) said that it wasn’t true. One told me to quit trying to be ‘such a down’ or whatever it was they say, and no one wanted to talk about that stuff or crap (he doesn’t swear, he’s funny). The dingbat in the bunch said everyone would know if something like that was true. (She’s always been the ‘expert’ on everything in the small group I sometimes associate with. Every group has one. But what makes her tolerable is she will do anything for anyone. Anyone.)
I only gave so much detail just so you understand that these are just your joe and jane six-pack kind of people. Most don’t know or don’t want to know. And regarding people who do know, they don’t seem to care. As in “it’s possible”’
And the majority of millennials aren’t paying attention. Between the challenge of surviving in this economy and the fact that they know things will be harder for them than it was for most of us, they don’t have time or the inclination to troll the internet to see how much more misery and grief there is out there. That’s how a lot of my son’s friends think anyway. (I have a 25-year old son.)
Only hair-on-fire political junkies like us (on both sides) know the fine details. I used to wonder how people who faithfully watch the nightly news could be so ‘uninformed’.It took a while, but I finally caught on. The nightly news not only doesn’t tell you everything, oft-times what they do tell you isn’t even the truth. And the same with the internet.

ask them how many military bases outside your country is "normal". If you aren't currently an empire, previously an empire that hasn't divested your bases, or an aspiring empire, the number is "zero".
