How to punish the Republicans who voted for the AHCA

The American Health Care Act [aka TrumpCare or Trump Doesn’t Care And If You Get Sick, Die Quick] is an abomination and everyone who voted for it needs to be punished.

Nancy Pelosi was on the right track when she said “Do you believe in what is in this bill? Some of you have said … well, they’ll fix it in the Senate. But you have every provision of this bill tattooed on your forehead. You will glow in the dark on this one”, but she did not go far enough.

The original version of TrumpCare was so bad that their were estimates that it would cause at least 45,000 deaths per year. That wasn’t mean and cruel enough for the Republicans. The new TrumpCare is much worse, maybe twice as bad and will cause 50,000, 75,000 or 100,000 deaths per year once it’s provisions take effect.

Everyone who voted for this monster of a bill knew that people would die and they need to be punished for what they did.

Every republican needs to be tied to every single death from lack of health care that happened in the past 10 years and every new death that happens from now on.

In the hometown and near the office of each republican who voted for the AHCA there should be a large billboard with the republicans face and under it his name and to the side, in Big, Bold, Blood Dripping letters, the words “Guilty of Attempted Murder” and a scrolling list of all of the 450,000+ people who died in the 10 years before ObamaCare.

When TrumpCare goes into effect and people start dying, the words should change to: “Guilty of Murder in the First Degree” and the scrolling list should show the names of each person who died and what condition they died from.

Nancy Pelosi was on the right track

Because I remember:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday that the public health insurance option will not be included in a package of fixes to healthcare reform legislation.

Pelosi's comments throw a wrench into liberal efforts to reintroduce it to the bill. She shut the door on a possible pathway opened by Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), who said earlier on Friday that he would "aggressively" push senators to vote for the plan if the House included it in the fixes.

There would never have been an AHCA if Pelosi had gone to the mat for public option when she had the chance.

Instead we got the awful Obamacare scam and the Dems lost the Congress and the White House as a result.

So now you want me to 'punish' the Goopers for being Goopers?

Frankly Id rather punish the Democrats for being Goopers.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

Our Essayist does have a point. If they're Goopers, they need to be punished for this, whether they ran for office as Democrats or Republicans.

Right now, what folks like us recognize as actual democrats -- the kind of Democrats that continuously-loyal States produced in the 1970s -- are damn few and far between. Everyone else in the Federal Legislature needs this punishment.

I completely get your anger and desire to hold these rats accountable. The problem is that the Democrats added betrayal to their ratfuckery, which makes them as bad if not worse than the Republicans who wrote and passed this bill and the people who keep voting for politicians determined to screw them.

Whether it's Schumer before the election "For every blue collar vote we lose in West PA, we'll pick up two votes in the Philly suburbs" or Nancy Pelosi after the 2016 election ass whupping the Dems took "No, I don't think Democrats want a new direction" their statements prove that they don't know and they don't care.

Their polar star is reelection. Nothing else matters. And if anyone thinks that either party gives a damn about the 99% (Bernie Sanders and a few others notwithstanding) they are mistaken.

up there and says she's not on board with "the government taking over all healthcare" in the US while she herself is Medicare eligible, do you REALLY think Democrats should be let off this hook? I agree Repugnants are indeed Repugnant and should be punished, but until their own supporters are willing to do that punishing we get nowhere. And with Democrats who won't even bother to state the truth of just what Medicare for All would be, fuck them, all of them. They have theirs and they are more than fine with the rest of us suffering so that they keep theirs.

Both parties must be crushed. The incipient revolt of the Berniecrats, almost winning the CA Dem Party chairmanship, except for the wonderful super-delegates, may take hold on a broader scale, although I am non optimistic. The Repugnants under the flawless leadership of John McBlame and sidekick Lovely Lindsey, are doing their level best to split the GOP. Oh, so exciting!
