Hill IS running out the clock

So that's what this "pneumonia thing" is all about! Just read a Chris Cillizza post in today's Washington Post about how Hillary Clinton's sudden (but not too serious, although it is mildly contagious) case of "pneumonia" may have her out of commission for six or more weeks, perhaps through October. What an absolutely convenient way for her to run out the clock and avoid pesky debates and press conferences (yet free her schedule up for fundraisers). Plus, it puts to rest all the rumors about her health. Plus-plus, having pneumonia but paying her respects during the 9/11 memorial ceremony makes her into a brave hero, sacrificing her own needs for the departed. Clever and Clintonesque, no?

yes, it was she.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/13/opinion/campaign-stops/did-you-hear-th...

Did you know she has a body double? She was that blond woman waving at reporters in front of Chelsea Clinton’s apartment a few hours after Mrs. Clinton felt unwell and left the Sept. 11 commemoration at ground zero.

Did you also hear that Mrs. Clinton has Parkinson’s disease? Her coughing fits prove it, as does her latest bout of illness. She has epilepsy, as well as advancing dementia. She has managed to hide all these illnesses through almost a year and a half of a grueling campaign because the man the world thinks is the head of her Secret Service detail is actually her hypnotist. He’s also a medical doctor.

No, I haven’t lost my mind. I’ve just lost many hours on social media, where these conspiracy theories run rampant.

But yes, there are accusations from some already that "thinking Hillary has a double" is CT. So there's that.

And to be clear, nowhere do I state that if Hillary has a body double that means she has Parkinsons (which is probably not what you meant to convey, anyway, it might could be read that way, so I'm just sayin'). My bigger point is, the NYT has lied so often that I simply do not find them credible, period. Frankly, a lot of people should no longer find them credible about a LOT of things.

Are they always wrong? Maybe not, but that's not my problem at this point. I don't trust them. They've lied too many times. Period. I have no reason to suspect anymore that they ever tell the truth, with the exception of demonstrable facts like--oh, I don't know, sports and traffic reports? But for these political times? The default conclusion is "they're lying", IMO. YMMV, of course.

I was lumping 'theories" together: that includes, her having Parkinson's, her having a double. And I didn't mean to suggest that you thought either of those things to be the case. Only that this site has people believing either or both of those things (and other things too, like shitting her pants). I don't know what you believe and since you were responding to the NY Times link and paragraphs I included, I responded back.

My first was a response to JtC's comment that the so-called double was Hillary. MY only additions to the quote and the link were these:

Yes it was she

and

You, on the other had wrote this

What I believe about her?
That she is unfit to be president. And w/o resorting to any medical stuff. For sure if she has some cognitive issues, she's unfit. But I don't know that she has those.

I saw the video of her fall. My husband and I are both M.D.s and he's a neurologist and terribly cautious. I forced him to watch the video, against his will. He believes she was fainting. We would never venture to guess why that was, if that indeed was the case. Only that it appeared to be a fainting spell.

From your link:

Yes, the Clinton campaign should have disclosed her pneumonia diagnosis on Friday, curtailed her schedule and allowed her to recover. Lack of disclosure only increases the number of people who suspect she’s hiding something.

But there’s also no amount of disclosure that would change the minds of people who think she’s been hiding epilepsy, Parkinson’s and dementia, thanks to her secret hypnotist and persuasive body double.

Bolding mine. LOL! Since lack of disclosure is, by definition, hiding something, why yes, yes, I would expect lack of disclosure to increase the number of people who "suspect" she is hiding something. I would also expect it to increase the number of people who know she is hiding something. Since she is, in fact, hiding something if she is not disclosing it. Duh.

I can safely say it was unpleasant, debilitating(even walking Pneumonia in the Army), and was painful and yucky. The antibiotics helped but took about 5+ days to start to clear it up, and I was on them for 2weeks. She allegedly was diagnosed with the illness Friday? If she pushes herself, she can still kill herself that way, I was in my 20's when I was hit with the disease, she is 68, and no way near as healthy as Bernie with her soft 1%-er lifestyle.

Hole in tongue
Metal clip falls out of her pocket(rumors of catheter abound)
Her odd spells of eye and head control loss
having to be propped up by security on a stool, walking up stairs and into that van.
Her long absences from press conferences, just making speeches yet the coughing even then, she has shown illness since the debates, she got stressed as Bernie almost robbed her of this second time to go for the POTUS spot.

Stress makes a healthy person ill, and as I know from personal experience, a sick person worse!

So, nutshell? I take the Pneumonia only story with a dump-truck sized grin of salt.

In fact, the pneumonia may be a cover story for something else. All the other oddities we have seen from Hillary Clinton are not products of this new pneumonia. Her loss of complete motor function on Sunday was very frightening. I am not a doctor, but I would venture that anyone who saw all three versions (three different angles) of what happened to her on Sunday would probably have second thoughts about voting for her. She may have pneumonia, but it sure looks like something else unrelated is also going on here.

I have posted here and elsewhere that politics is all about perception and perception becomes reality. The perception is rapidly becoming that Hillary Clinton is not healthy enough to withstand the rigors of the Presidency. Hell, even Tom Brokaw of all people is calling for her to release her medical records.

Great Comment Gulfgal,

The collapse, seen by millions, was awesomely scary. The campaign will have to not only release full, independently verified medical records, BUT , Hillary will have to undergo a full and verifiable Neurological examination by 3rd party doctors. I don't think they will do this, and I feel they have to do this to change public perception, as you say. She also has a looming deadline with judge Sullivan for written responses to JW's subpoena. If he's unhappy with those answers, he can compel a verbal response. Plus, Chaffetz and Grassley are going full tilt after the FBI and State Dept for all of their emails, etc. I never thought I'd be rooting for these guys ! The (invisible) noose is tightening around Hillary. Again, perception is key here, and she cannot change that now in superficial ways, though it appears that lying and superficiality is all she's got. The clock is ticking a LOT louder now, louder than she ever thought it could I imagine.

Hillary was convulsing but i saw what I saw. Up to Sunday's episode I was very put off by all the speculation, to the point that I even stopped coming to this site so i wouldnot be tempted to read certain essays and the comments I hate speculation. I won't say hillary lost ALL motor function, I wasn't there and I am not a medical professional but I have been close to two epileptics and have seen plenty seizures/convulsions. What's more, if you look Hillary's jerky movements on Sunday are too similar or exactly what has been shown in those videos I previously dismissed. If you add allthe propping and help she needs in every photo I see it's obvious something is very wrong.

How about their recent editorial that the Hillary email topic was "out of control"? Of course, it just now is potentially heating up again, I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

And, the Editorial Board has on it Jonathan Capeheart, who wrote the scurrilous column about Bernie falsely using the picture of another person to burnish his own liberal credentials as a protestor, which column was itself completely false and debunked with no resulting apology or acknowledgement from Capeheart except a follow-up column about the "fog of memory". This, after bleating about Bernie being ethically challenged.

The WP seems to be the last and the least in covering this election among formerly respected newspapers.

But being a candidate for companies controlled by the rich, the hypocrisy is thick.

If this is really such a bad thing, why doesn't she do something about it? It's because her masters don't want her to.

we just can't do that because that would somehow be unfair to the uber-wealthy among us, and the employers too. Those employers NEED to pay those shitty wages to make a profit, and private insurance companies too are job creators, so we just can't fix that little problem of people having to work while sick. But hey, Shill's does it, so we can too, amirite? We too are rough and tough American's who can not only pull ourselves up by our bootstraps but perform super-human feats working 24/7 to make sure our employers get what they're paying for.

And the sick thing is that there are just enough voters out there who'll swallow that swill too. Aw, poor, poor Shillary, she works so hard to protect us all, but she isn't a miracle worker after all, and she too is merely a weak human being, evidenced by her going to work when sick.

Obvious snark.

http://www.salon.com/2016/09/12/hillary-powers-through-pneumonia-because...

Clinton’s health has been a front and center topic of public speculation and armchair diagnoses for several months now, all couched in the vague concern about whether this woman — this woman with actual political experience and knowledge — is less qualified to run the country than her Twitter-troll reality-show-star opponent. It’s a popular old ploy: Ladies, aren’t you too weak to do this stuff? Why don’t you just sit down and have a lemonade and leave the heavy lifting of running the world to the menfolk, dear? To which I say: You have got to be kidding me.

Yes Hillary has more political experience then Trump has, but I don't care for the decisions she has made especially when it comes to how she treats poor people and her decisions on invading countries and killing thousands of people.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Has the author ever had pneumonia? My younger brother spent a couple of days in hospital with it, and a very close friend was laid up and broke a rib with all the coughing, etc.

The idea that a 68-year-old with health issues is going to 'power through it' to stay on the job is laughable.

Plus, Hillary doesn't have pneumonia.

strep throat, cancer and a few other illnesses.
And as you pointed out, Hillary might have pneumonia but that wasn't the problem with her trying to get in the van. That looks more like neurological disorders than dehydration and weakness.
The commentary on the article was fun to read.
I liked this one. I thought the same thing.

So the crux of this piece is that women are stronger than men, and Hillary wasn't being secretive, she was being stoic and brave? Duly noted, excellent attempt at journalism. Maybe next time try a little less spin, I'm still a little dizzy from reading this.

I've had a couple of run-ins with bad Flu (yes, I know, not Pneumonia).

But still, in those two weeks or so of feeling like utter crap (and this was 20 and 30 years ago), the idea of leaving the bed or sofa to travel into central London, would have left me gibbering.

That's madly contagious, and you would infect everyone in the office who hadn't had either chicken pox or immunizations for it.

You don't even work through shingles - same bug, same reason.

If you had you would understand why she said that she worked through having chicken pox.
It was because She was working at home.
I wish that people who reply to comments would bother to read links that people provide.
I have seen many people reply to someone's comment and it's obvious that the person didn't bother to read the links that people provide..
