A word from SeniorLinux (that's me - from pre-stroke times back at good ol' dkos)

Of course, don't open anything that looks like a paper-clip: that could be a virus. But if your Spam directory says it's about caucus99percent and mentions the ID you registered under, chances are that is what you are looking for.

If you want to be extra-safe, I suppose you could login at your local library and register from there. But that has its own problems. So just be safe.

I feared that I had been rejected, but I try to not be paranoid about things that come my way. And I got a uid under 2K, not that it matters.

er, I mean SeniorLinux. Thank you for the reminder. I'm going to make a page here explaining the registering process and post a link to it right under the "Registration" link. I have a text explanation under it now but a bolded link may get more attention, I hope. The problem is a lot of folks don't read everything and miss the important stuff. Thanks for reminding me.

SeniorLinux was (is?) the group name. jabney is (and was) the administrator of SeniorLinux. And there was a group of users that amazed and awed me.

Of the five chapters, the lowest (re. tips) was SeniorLinux v.004 - and that was using AVLinux 6.01 just as an illustration. I wasn't trying to get people to start AVLinux - it wasn't for everybody. Now, AVLinux 2016 is supposed to be available soon. And maybe I'll change my opinion to a recommendation. A preview http://bandshed.net/forum/index.php?topic=3637.0 shows its bias at the very start: a beautiful screen of - not one but two - JACK windows from qjackctl - as you might guess, timing is rather important in AVLinux 2016. Thing is, the person in charge is firm that AVLinux 2016 is not a distro.

"AV Linux is NOT a Linux Distribution in the ‘proper’ sense…

It is a freely shared 32 and 64bit downloadable and installable ISO Image created from a carefully pre-configured snapshot of the Debian GNU/Linux “Testing” Distribution etc...."

So that is what I'm waiting for in LinuxLand. In the meantime, I'm enjoying Windows 10. And I'm starting to look at Android-x86. Any recommendation of a respectable torrent software?

Strange that a harp of thousand strings should keep in tune so long

I could go through the member list and shoot out emails to all the folks that haven't logged in yet. But that would accomplish nothing because they'd just end up in the spam folder too.

So to help alleviate that problem, in addition to the link to a "Registration Information" page, I'll also add a bolded message at the top of the Front Page where folks usually land at reminding them to check their spam directory if they don't get the registration emails.
