Greens think they can raise $1M on Saturday

First of all, this is not a Green fundraising guilt trip. If you want to donate to this campaign, you can use this link, but for this essay I'm more interested in the size and scope:

Because even though you’ll be able to vote for Jill in 48 (includes 3 write-ins) out of 50 states this year, she and Ajamu STILL won’t be allowed into the debates
Please help us OCCUPY THE DEBATES, and join our official MoneyBloom this Saturday, the 17th of September, on the anniversary of Occupy Wall Street!

Our goal to raise $1 million dollars so we can make 1 million calls for our candidates. Will you help us today?

Jill and Ajamu are exploding in the media and millions of people just like you have raised their hands as supporters, donors, and volunteers!

In the coming weeks, those millions will grow exponentially if we do our work. To prove how strongly people want Jill and Ajamu in the debates, it's time for our:

OCCUPY THE DEBATES
24-HOUR MONEY BLOOM!

This is a lot more ambitious than the last big fundraising effort from the end of July, when the goal was half a million over several weeks. They blew through that, but the new goal is double that in a single day.

The point of all this fundraising is also interesting:

The media is shutting out Jill and Ajamu. Even Judy Woodruff at PBS went so far as to censor all of Jill’s potentially negative comments about Hillary Clinton from her interview.

So what are we doing about it? We’re creating our own press!

We will not be silenced!

Our goal is to raise $1 million dollars so we can make 1 million calls for Jill. Will you help us today?

Phone banking as an alternative to traditional media sounded a bit strange to me at first, but really the problem for ignored campaigns is access to people who watch TV and have land lines. This might well be an effective way to break through to that group.

In a related story, I was surprised to see a full-page ad in the printed New York Times this morning from the Libertarians arguing that Johnson be included. It didn't mention the Greens, but then again, it was their own money.

I've been re-watching a lot of Planet Earth lately, and it is instructive to watch predators hunting. Harass the prey, take turns, wait for a mistake. Then pounce.

I was thinking about the Greens today. I was wondering where at least on a national what they we're doing other then there presence on fb. I really believe the time is ripe for a 3rd party. It's not unconstitutional and even though unprecedented in our history the electoral partisan process has never been this corrupted and complicit. It's a global screw on every level and it's going to get worse regardless of theis farce of an election.

I wrote an OT essay a few months ago about the history of faction in our party system. It seems most change does come from old party's that morph into new ones or are taken over by a faction from the inside the existing party. That is no longer possible with the transnational global oligarchical collectivists owning both parties and all branches of our government.

This really is a duopoly and both parties are complicit in the take over and destruction of democratic representation by the global cabal that owns the place. So why not go for it. I have up until now been skeptical of the Greens and there ability or desire to be a major player in politics. As each day brings a new revelation about of the the extent of the corruption and destruction of democracy, the planet and human rights and lives I think it's about time to actual come together and start giving them a run for their money.

The Greens and their candidate Jill Stein will not win barring the complete collapse of the electoral duopoly but more and more people are hip to their jive globally. Bernie may have been a dead end but the movement he gave political voice to makes it clear that a huge swath of people 43+ million in this country are done with this obvious coup by the powers that 'rule the world'. There is no way in hell that either party is going to be a vehicle for desperately needed democratic change.

Here's what that traitorous fake 'progressive' Howard Dean had to say back in 2003.'I'm taking back my country and the vehicle I'm usiing is the Democratic Party'. Where is he now a lobbyist singing the praises of Hillary and out stumping for the thoroughly useless, corrupt and owned Democratic Party.

Since this election/selection is just a fear driven con why not occupy the Greens and help build there infrastructure in the next 4 years to the point where they are not a fringe party but a real player locally state and national. We need a people driven challenge to the blood sucking vampire on humanities face. Hey it's worth putting some effort into. Bernie also showed us all what organizing grassroots on every level and countering the big money donors can accomplish. I'm in. Thanks for this essay.

but gave up after it wouldn't process the donation amount.

Anyone else have a problem?

5 year anniversary, wow...I can say for sure Occupy changed my life.

The a Fear is thick out there. I'm not succumbing. I pity the minions who can't help themselves tuned into the nonstop torrent of propaganda. But I'm deeply contemptuous of the state of affairs here, from our spineless media to our corrupt government.

We're witnessing the Greatest Fraud in Earth.

I found a big Jill 2016 button on the floor of the club in work at in NYC. I've been wearing it every time I leave the house, alternating sometimes with Tax The Rich.

but I think we have to somehow get them help if they are open to it. Their techies are pathetic and on a state and local level they have no organization. My local Portland Oregon Pacific Green Party has nothing on their website but an announcement of a meeting dated September 2015. That's pathetic. If enough people joined with them on a grassroots level surely they would expand their organization to accommodate an influx of new members who would make them a viable party to be reckoned with.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

brazenly stealing the election from Bernie. There was no other way to stem the tide of a legion of volunteers, massive rallies nationwide and tens of millions in small individual donations.

To pick yourself up after all that incredible energy generated, which was on par with Obama's run, and get back up to do it again for Jill. Well, we see where things are. These fucking bastards wanted to crush the Left. But like Occupy begat Bernie's run, it'll be that much bigger exponentially next time.

I canvassed my neighborhood with a 5 month old baby in a harness, went to other neighborhoods to do same, attended rallies, phone banked in people's apts, donated multiple times, etc.

Hard to dust yourself off and do that again.

I'm still angry about the web of deceit and fraud.

We had a family gathering last weekend there were 6 of us from 3 generations. We briefly talked politics and three of us we're voting for Jill Stein, one for Gary Johnson. My son and his wife were the only ones in this group who were going to vote for Hillary. They fear The Hairball. Strange generational break down old coots and millennials who are not not succumbing to fear. We all should just let go of misplaced fear that says there is no way to break the grip these fuckers have globally. I really liked Jill standing up at Standing Rock.

This is good to see. There is this house near where I often travel that had about 20 Bernie yard signs of all types and sizes and the last time I went by the other day they had all been changed to Jill signs! The only logical choice for previous Bernie supporters is Jill. Period. #JillNotHill

lawn signs, posters, etc wherever I am.

I've noticed a trickle of HRC bumperstickers (read:two or three in the past few weeks, including one clown with three Clinton/Kaine stickers on his car on my block - took a lot to resist defacing them). Still not many at all, and not becoming of a the nominee less than two months out of the election (further validation that her support is astro-turf, Emperor's New Clothes, Fear Trump - very, very few are excited about her). But was surprised yesterday to be in Bklyn and see a Gary Johnson bumpersticker. Still have not seen a Jill sticker in NYC.

Am pleased to see there are still stalwarts out there though. There are two houses in my neighborhood who still have their Bernie signs out front, have not come down since being put up during the NY primary in April. Bernie stickers everywhere, dominate the whole 2016 election season, including Trump, whose I still haven't seen many at all around NYC, though definitely some. It was kind of chilling and disconcerting to be in PA for vacation over the summer and seeing a pickup truck with a huge American flag on one side and an equally huge Trump flag. The Neoliberal scum running the Dems ceded the economic populist high ground to a goon real estate shyster/reality tv buffoon. I'll never forgive them for that.

Best graffiti, "Hillary Stole NYC."

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Hey Moneybloom, can you correct the text in your message re. Judy WOODRUFF of the PBS News Hour?

with no difficulty. I hope that they do well- Stein faces the same media blackout that Bernie faced at first. Maybe a little cash flowing in will help her buy her way into some polls...

If the Green Party can become more successful, then maybe we will have a two-party system -- the people vs. the plutocracy.
