Google really is EVIL

Most people are unaware of just how evil Google is.
Consider that Google is the only company in history that literally had to remove “Don’t Be Evil” mantra from its code of conduct.

Google was a very successful CIA start-up.

Google has worked hand-in-hand with the NSA and other military intelligence agencies.

In 2013, Google's acquisition of the robotics company Boston Dynamics, and most of the projects were funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

However, this week Google went to a whole new level of E-V-I-L.

Google has quietly secured a contract to work on the Defense Department’s new algorithmic warfare initiative, providing assistance with a pilot project to apply its artificial intelligence solutions to drone targeting.

The military contract with Google is routed through a Northern Virginia technology staffing company called ECS Federal, obscuring the relationship from the public.

The contract, first reported Tuesday by Gizmodo, is part of a rapid push by the Pentagon to deploy state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technology to improve combat performance.

Google, which has made strides in applying its proprietary deep learning tools to improve language translation, and vision recognition, has a cross-team collaboration within the company to work on the AI drone project.

In case you need this translated - Google and the Pentagon are building a fleet of flying killer robots that assassinate people based on algorithms.

In other words, Skynet.
skynet.jpeg

The team, The Intercept has learned, is working to develop deep learning technology to help drone analysts interpret the vast image data vacuumed up from the military’s fleet of 1,100 drones to better target bombing strikes against the Islamic State.

What could possibly go wrong?

Interestingly, this isn't Google's first foray with Skynet.
This was a headline in 2016:
Google Is Working on Plans to Prevent a Skynet Situation

Things have not gone well at Google, because in 2017 this was the headline:
Google's New AI Has Learned to Become "Highly Aggressive" in Stressful Situations

The article on how the CIA made Google deserves its own essay. The first paragraph really grabs the attention, doesn't it?

The origins of this ingenious strategy trace back to a secret Pentagon-sponsored group, that for the last two decades has functioned as a bridge between the US government and elites across the business, industry, finance, corporate, and media sectors. The group has allowed some of the most powerful special interests in corporate America to systematically circumvent democratic accountability and the rule of law to influence government policies, as well as public opinion in the US and around the world. The results have been catastrophic: NSA mass surveillance, a permanent state of global war, and a new initiative to transform the US military into Skynet.

We have been talking about the new corporate censorship that Google, Facebook and Twitter are doing because the government can't do it because of the first amendment. That ship has already sailed Think that congress is going to protect net neutrality? Yeah, me neither. This is just one more way to restrict our freedoms. Which ones are even left?

Comment on the article: The same technology that has outstripped grandmasters in Go and Chess now is focused on checkmating humans with killer drones. How long until the drones are going to be used against us when we protest? Who was it that wrote that wars abroad have a way of coming home? We've watched as the PTB have put us in a pot of water and then gradually turned up the heat and we continued to let them. I think it's about time that we jumped out of it.

EVIL INDEED

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

But to read in print that it was a strategic plan two decades ago to commingle the function of government with corporate business interests and the media sector with no accountability, really burns me.

so they can't use the "we are protecting you from the terrorists" ploy. We've been told over and over that we need to give up our freedoms for safety.

Oh wait, they were doing this before the terrorists decided to attack us. Never mind ...

I never knew that the term "Never Again" only pertained to
those born Jewish

"Antisemite used to be someone who didn't like Jews
now it's someone who Jews don't like"

Heard from Margaret Kimberley

This Google AI drone deal is probably about replacing human remote drone operators who can't stomach what the Pentagon wants them to do.
Besides, it's kinda hard to charge a self-learning AI device with a war crime. And the designers have a built-in cop-out ('we didn't teach 'em that!')

After all, if drone-targeted war journalists can sue to be taken off kill lists and be turned down in America's court system, seemingly to stop reporting on what's actually going on in war zones getting to the public...

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

"I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.” —Malcolm X

Non-psychopathic humans and non-pathologized cultures have human emotions such as ethics and empathy so that those forming the overall society tend not to club each other over the head to take their stuff.

The species survived due to a tendency toward mutual cooperation to at least some degree; machines lack the capacity - and even the complex biological network - for such human/humane emotions and, regarded on a human level, would necessarily be psychopathic. Doesn't mean that they'd necessarily become raging killers any more than do most human psychopaths, but it does mean that they could and that they'd feel nothing if they decided it was best to kill any or all human(s).
The whole concept of creating independently acting artificial intelligence and loosing this to see what happens belongs in a 1950's mad Scientist movie - and so does just about everything else we know TPTB have done or worked toward over past decades...
