mimi, looked on last nights EBs and couldn't find it. Leave
Thank you. France has had ongoing protests for over a year (?) now. They have been more than Jillets Jaunes. And the issues are many. Even in provicial France, we have to look for information about the protests. We are only an hour from Lyon, where there have been protests as well. We never hear about them.
France has many small daily newspapers, of which we try to pick up the local one. It is another attempt to keep vox populi open. There are many built in institutions because the French powers are afraid of another revolution. Apparently it's in the DNA here.
The latest is that the Macron government (reign) has backed off this "global security" bill. But I don't trust Macron and he has many avenues to move his agendas forward.
Eyes open French people.

The video from Jimmy came out after Friday's EB
I leave it up. Thanks to all who responded.

In fact
.THE French revolution was inspired by the American resolution.
Macron was called the Reagan of France when he was
elected. He's way beyond that. He's outdoing the US presidents. Luckily, he is doing it in the open and the French are willing to go into the streets in numerous large cities (worried about the Pendemic on this) and not just protest but fight them.
One of the most egregious violent acts by the police was the intentional targeting of an elderly French woman who was closing her shutters while police riot was going on below her apartment. She was targeted while on the mobile phone with her daughter, and apparently the police thought she was filming. Ergo the attack which killed her. This was 2018. The courts and reports have just come out.
The Guardian
Our friend who passed the French bar and will be an attourney in a year, has been protesting.
We have said to many French people we know that the protests of the Jillets Jaunes are disruptive and inconvenient, but serve a useful purpose viz what is not done in the US. The independent shop keepers and service people like nurses (private businesses in France), Naturopaths, salons and those like them have a hard time making enough when they can't get to work or the customers can't come. So they are ambivalent about the protests.
Thanks Mimi.

This is what we should have done with the patriot act
Either we have a right to protest or we do not. There is only one reason for cops to be dispatched and that is to shut them down with state approved violence. For what reason were the cops unleashed on OWS? It was peaceful and it was helping those less fortunate. OH NO. They can not have that so it was quashed under the 'best president since FDR' as was Ferguson after Mike Brown's death. Armed police at a peaceful protest against police brutality. Brilliant. You can see in this and so many other videos that the cops are just brutalizing people because they know they can and that they will get away with it.
Has any cop that has injured a person been held accountable? 20 people in France lost their eyes because cops deliberately shot at their faces with non lethal weapons. One of those non lethal weapons killed an elderly women in France when she was looking out her window at the protest whilst on the phone with her daughter. A cop shot a canister at her and it hit her in the head and face and she died. Be interesting to see what happened to the cop who said he did it because he thought she was filming him with her phone.
With society heading for feudalism and Bezo becoming so big that he could bring back the 'Company Store' society doesn't seem that far fetched. Especially with right to work rules being rescinded and now the corporate liability immunity we are going backwards with
BTW just read that Trump is subpoenaing a news site's information on sources. Don't remember the details but it's a war on the press. Of course it is. But none of those complaining about it yesterday even mentioned Assange's name nor have covered his extradition hearings. Heh...Jimmy just mentioned Assange. Great minds.
What gits me is that the 2nd amendment groups have been waiting for government over reach with our rights and then they would get their guns and fight against government tyranny. Funny how they didn't do that with the patriot act. The countless surveillance programs and the cops beating up BLM protesters. In fact they joined with cops to keep people from protesting. Nice.........
I just trapped a fly in the freezer. Then felt bad and now can't let it out. I feel bad.
Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.
Jimmy: Obama's greatest crimes
When you get away with killing 3 US citizens without due process what do you do next? Either go to Disneyland or Hawaii. But Trump is the worst president in history, right Bernie?
What Obama did to Flint, Michigan was as criminal as what the guv and others did that killed 12 people, poisoned thousands and then left without getting people any help.
But Trump. Sure he's an idiot. But people are still whitewashing Obama's crimes. The next Trump will get away with much more than Trump/Obama/Bush.........did.
Here is an example of tweets by congress members telling people what congress must do for us. Lots of demands and yet when the time comes will those people refuse to vote for the bailout until we get back pay to pay off the debts run up from previous refusals to help? Bernie says he's going to fight the bill till we get another $1,200. That won't be enough for millions to evade evictions, but hey it's something. Right Bernie? Something, but nothing that will elevate what has happened.
Ooops I forgot the link. There is one more article on CD that has even more.
Fight both Bernie. Fight for back pay and fight against the immunity deal. You know how bad that will be for the country and you need to tell people. You failed to educate people on the 1st largest giveaway so here's your chance to step up and make sure people know what this will entail going forward. It is not being done just for COVID.
Now call out Pelosi and Schumer for going along with McConnell already 3 times before. You can do it. Unless........

this late. I didn't expect a response and feel uncomfortable about it. Worked the whole day (German time zone) and thought that JS will pick it up on Monday. My apologies.
Snoopy is a walking encyclopedia of all things about kabuki big ego heads and Dawn Meta adds so much information from on the ground happenings in France, I want to thank you both.
Well, I want to take photos of cops. If they can take photos of us, so should we. And I want cops not wearing masks. They shouldn't be able to hide behind those masks. I want transparency.
That's about it. Now we should continue with German Neoliberalism. That gets more complicated.
May be HE just hits the nails on the head:
"Worst Possible Outcome" 2020 Election According to Yanis Varoufakis.
This video was posted two hours ago. Please watch it I think it is interesting. Can't excerpt it. Varoufakis said the worst possible outcome of the election was Joe Biden winning by a thin margin.

Yeo, yep, makes sense to me.
I scratch out this BS. Bad head day.
I won't bother to bother you any longer. I didn't mean to offend any of you for not responding on time.
Have a good night and Sunday morning. And carpe diem!
