Her throwing that hat up in the air performed miracles for the cause of women's equality and rights. I don't know what else to say.

MTM did more to advance the cause of American women
...... than a million Gloria Steinems or a billion Hillary Clintons.
She did it by reminding American men that the genuine feminist cause is that of the women they love: their mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, girlfriends, partners.
While some tried to extract the benefits of equality through bitterness and strife, MTM reminded us men that we owed all women these rights; and the noble and gentle men amongst us then arose and fought to get women those rights too.
United we win; divided we lose. MTM called us together to fight for the right.
In addition to the sexism Beast, this same formula worked well against juvenile diabetes, too!
Ye shall not be forgotten, madame, ever!

Exactly, thanks for saying that about her
MTM was real and Hillary did what would make her look good. How she kept her image of being for women and children after welfare reform, I have no idea.
MTM had been a brittle diabetic for decades as the statement said. I am surprised she lasted so long with it.
Scientists are concerned that conspiracy theories may die out if they keep coming true at the current alarming rate.
RIP MTM
Her production company produced Hill Street Blues.
First time I remember seeing the MTM logo -- a parody of the MGM logo, with a cute little kitten mewing instead of a lion roaring. Astonishing television for the era. The pilot episode includes a scene where a SWAT team loses control and opens up with everything they've got. At the time -- and even now, if you watch it -- it was funny, because it was so ludicrous. Now, it's SOP: The cops get scared, think someone might be about to get shot, and unload their weapons.
The earth is a multibillion-year-old sphere.
The Nazis killed millions of Jews.
On 9/11/01 a Boeing 757 (AA77) flew into the Pentagon.
AGCC is happening.
If you cannot accept these facts, I cannot fake an interest in any of your opinions.
One of the all time greatest
Some of my best childhood memories watching her on The Dick Van Dyke show and who can forget her infamous Oh Rob! line.
Anyone else remember her 'single-girl' apt. in the Mary Tyler
Moore show? For a nostalgic amble down memory lane, here are some photos of it and her (with Cloris Leachman and Valerie Harper): http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/the-mary-tyler-moore-show-apartment-was-...
How I loved that show.

That's Chris Hedges, not MTM.

(From PBS:) Mary Tyler Moore: A Celebration Full Episode
The video won't work here, it's not 'supported', whatever that means. You must go to PGS to watch it. Trust me, it is well worth watching. I promise.

Fixed - thank you!
That Hedges link is as far from Mary Richards' sweet top-floor flat as could be.

It certainly had me confused. Then I looked at the link.
