great Marvin Gaye songs
listening to A Wonderful One right now. So good.
evening shahryar...
yep, i am particularly fond of his early 60's work for motown which is often overshadowed by his later hits.
have a great weekend!
Marvin was incapable of making a bad
or mediocre song, in my opinion.
I am insisting on no funeral, but if my brother outlives me, has one for me despite my wishes, I am giving him a play list to entertain the mourners that includes some Marvin Gaye songs.
His version of the Star Bangled Banner is off the charts!

evening otc...
glad that you got a kick out of it. have a wonderful weekend!
I should have put
Any promotion of Marvin as just a wonderful singer is so appreciated.
He was from the get go incredible. And I listened and watched his transition from his blues beginning to his very sophisticated war protests with awe, respect, and with all my love. He grew with the times, sang with the times.

Aw, man, always get a kick out of Marvin,
I think I put this out before, but it bears repeating.
A woman was in my office with her 5 year old son. He grabbed a mint from my paralegal's desk. His Mom made him put it back so as not to spoil his lunch. He said, Aw, man! He got into some files and papers and his Mom made his put them back. Aw, man! He then got to running wild and his Mom made him sit still. Aw, man! His Mom told him it would be just a few minutes before they headed to lunch. Aw, man!
Years later, in my office, "Aw, man!" means something funny.
That kid just had us doubling over with laughter.
Aw, man!

Shar, he did it in 4/4 instead of 3/4
at some Lakers game.
Seems the Anthem requires at least 2 octaves. He had no problem.

I'm sure Marvin Gaye had
Rec'd!!
Inner and Outer Space: the Final Frontiers.
Even Whitney Houston had to take a deep breath at
the Super Bowl from growling level low to voice thinning high.
He did die way too young. And I have never quite accepted his father's story, but the authorities did, so that is that.
He is the person and music of my life, my youth, and I am better for it.

great tunes JS!
Marvin Gaye was amazing... I think it was said he had a 4 octave range... which I think is very near the legal limit? One of the best singers ever. Beautiful music he made.
Thanks! And have a goodun'!

A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit. Allegedly Greek, but more possibly fairly modern quote.
