DWS finally debating Tim Canova

From the Canova campaign earlier today:

Debbie Wasserman Schultz will debate Tim Canova tomorrow morning at 8:00 am eastern on CBS Miami. It appears as though this will be the only debate that Wasserman Schultz will agree to in this election as she’s terrified of defending her record in front of the voters.

She's been avoiding it for months and now her polls have dropped so far she's finally agreed to do one. At 8AM with under 24 hours notice. What an accountable public servant she is!

What a strong confident candidate DWS is. Snark as if you couldn't tell.

he's really gotten under Little Debbie's skin about "debates" down here--it's been a steady drumbeat from his campaign, and people are really paying attention. Yet still, she's so completely arrogant about it--earlier this week, she offered him "fifteen minutes", and I think this TV appearance is it.

Arrogant as hell. I hope Canova cleans her clock. I know she'll have a job with Her Heinous if she loses, but it will still be satisfying to see her get beat out of her Congressional seat. She's been useless to anyone other than the 1% in Florida....

I see she's using the same strategy she used for the presidential debates: choose a time when folks aren't watching television. Eight on a Sunday morning... Yeah, THAT's the ticket!

It will give the kiddies must-see TV, or something. Is she so busy that Sunday morning is the only time in her busy bag schedule to fit in a debate?

Tim Canova won't participate in CBS4 debate with Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Tim Canova's campaign manager Richard Bell told the Miami Herald today that Canova won't participate in a debate with U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz Sunday morning.

On Wednesday, Wasserman Schultz announced that she agreed to a debate on CBS4's Facing South Florida with Jim DeFede, a half-hour show at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Wasserman Schultz is still expected to appear and CBS4 plans to leave a chair available for Canova.

snip

"After four months of dodging debates and running scared, Wasserman Schultz now wants to schedule a 15 minute debate? If she believes one 15 minute debate is sufficient to defend her record, it shows she's learned nothing from her failures in scheduling debates at the DNC before her shameful resignation. In April, I proposed a series of real debates, and that's still my hope, that the voters will get the benefit of hearing us discuss the issues in more than one debate of at least two-hours each to cover a wide range of issues of importance to all of us.”

“When I first heard this news,” said Canova, “I thought it was a joke. But actually it’s quite a disgrace and shows the arrogance of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and once again her contempt for democracy. The people of South Florida deserve better than a representative showing up for 15 minutes to defend her record."

“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

He's right to tell her to shove it about this joke called a "poll." 15 minutes @ 8:30am on Sunday? Way to go, you crooked dingbat. Rec'd!! OT: what's with all the rumors about this site having $$ headaches?

Is this the year when all debates are cancelled? Scheduling or tantrums?

Scroll down a little. Canova got her to agree to the full four in the end. The 4th video loads first (so pick video 1 to see the start of the debate).
