DU Has Gone Full Hillary

Here's the complaint and decision on my time out on the General Discussion Primary thread:

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This poster has been advocating for voting against the presumptive democratic presidential candidate throughout this thread.

A clear violation of the TOS. This particular post is over the top.

If I can't argue against voting for the "presumptive nominee" or accuse Hillary of bring corrupt I don't have much to say over there.

Saw DU going Full Hillary coming. Now it's here. Surprisingly, I'm ok with that. DU has joined The Washington/Markos Consensus.

Time to make a burnt offering in gratitude to The Kush Gods for giving me Caucus99percent.

Most here are not voting for hrc nor are we worried about this:

it creates more stress between the different candidates. which we do not need at this time. It also calls Hillary corrupt. this plays into the hands of Trump folk.

Thanks for acknowledging her corruption. We know they cannot handle it in a meaningful, adult manner.

On the same level as a Republican who knows man-made global heating is real, but won’t allow it to be discussed because it “plays into the hands of ‘Algore’ folk.”

I used to participate in some pretty good discussions. The Berniacs raise good issues, but The Cult of Hillary has taken over.

I expect we will be seeing DU dropouts migrating here soon.

The Emptiness that swallows everything in the Neverending Story?

Atreyu: What will happen if s/he doesn't appear?
The Childlike Empress: [sadly] Then our world will disappear — and so will I.
Atreyu: How could s/he let that happen?
The Childlike Empress: S/he doesn't understand that s/he's the one who has the power to stop it. S/he simply can't imagine that one little voice could be that important.
Voter: Is it really me?
Atreyu: Maybe s/he doesn't know what s/he has to do!
Voter: [shouts] What do I have to do?
The Childlike Empress: S/he has to vote into existence a new frame. S/he's already chosen it. S/he just has to call it out.

…among all your wise and mysterious posts that I eagerly follow.

The logic of this analogy — "…she has to vote it into existence." — so charming in its simplicity, puts me in mind of Tipper Gore or Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" anti-drug campaign.

I envy folks who still believe in voting, which might work for domestic feel-good issues, but cannot work against the very forces that are gutting their futures. That makes for a dangerous assumption among Americans; it is their way of surrendering and denying at the same time.

Personally, I think clapping for Tinkerbell has more impact on one's future well-being.

As the pun is the lowest form of humor, the vote, so sacred in popular patriotic culture, is but the lowest form of participation in democratic process.

I used to make fun of Tea-GOPers (known as Republicans during the George W. Bush administration) for their 100% all-in loyalty to The Worst President Ever, come Hell (Iraq) or high water (Hurricane Katrina). It's just plain weird to see Democrats demanding that level of unquestioning obedience.

I want my two dollars!

A while ago, I got into a "discussion" with an HRC loyalist that claimed Bernie wouldn't be speaking at the Vatican. I replied with a link to the schedule listing him as a speaker. Next time I visited DU, I found out I'd been banned. I was always careful to be factual and civil so took the banning to mean DU'd sold out completely. Haven't been back since...

is the DNC and whoever else going to continue to support all these supposedly "democratic" bloggers when it has become clear that they have been in the bag for Hillary for years?

I am a conspiracy theorist, I do believe in connecting the dots, that this isn't all just random BS. Many of the so called left-wing bloggers got their start, as did Air America, shortly before the 2004 election. I think that those that have succeeded have had a lot of help from their "friends" in the Democratic Party ala the Clinton's Third Way or whatever they wanted to call it. I think it was all done in preparation for the presidential run of the Queen. That failed in 2008 and now they have brought out the big guns in desperation to get Hillary ELECTED. This is their last chance. Hillary cannot fail, it is all supposed to work this time.

They can't afford for Bernie to get in. He will not be the gatekeeper for the neocon/lib agenda that Bush and Obama were. Their only hope is to continue to get neocon/libs elected to the presidency so they can protect each other from the war crimes trials they all so richly deserve - Hillary maybe more than most because she takes such delight in killing people.

Pluto's Republic's picture

It has always been about having a reliable Neoliberal and a co-opted Neocon on both the Republican and Democratic sides in all Presidential races. This has kept the current economic and military trajectory on course for decades. After the fall of the Soviet Union, this strategy became politically aggressive because of the possibility of global Empire. To voters, who are largely controlled by propaganda, this reality was and still is, invisible. They are lost in the weeds that have sprung up as a result.

In 2015, the nation was unexpectedly attacked by a populist tide in the form of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. Both of them up-end the Neocons and Neoliberals, in their own particular ways. This threw our Overlords, political and corporate, into a crisis mode of frenzied realignment of their powerful resources.

The full-court press around Hillary, the only reliable Neocon left standing (after Jeb Bush bowed out) is now of monumental size, consisting of both Republican and Democratic establishments working together to elect her.

Their weak flank is Donald Trump, who could be their Waterloo. But Hillary is their only hope, policy-wise, so they all took the risk of backing her. The military weapons trade hangs in the balance; the global chaos of war defines the strategic interests of the United States. War and Empire-by-force is now the major economic pillar of the US economy, after corporations dispersed the rest of it globally (although their profits are not returning to the US, as planned). Nonetheless, there is no Plan B.

The American people are fighting in blindfolds.
