The political ramifications have been staggering. To my mind this has been used to grab power and shift wealth upward. The Canadian truckers and their "Freedom Convoy" arrived in their Capitol asking to meet with the administration in order to lift the vaccine and mask mandates. Turdoo and the shitlibs refused. It is postulated that the Nazi and Rebel flags was truly a false flag staged by Turdoo and his allies in order to label the peaceful truckers as villains. One person claimed the saw Trudeau's official photographer staging the two flag carriers. The oddest part is the flag EVERYONE was carrying and waving was the Canadian Flag.

Russell Brand had a couple of good 15 minute takes this week.
In this one, he discusses Matt's article about the Freedom Convoy.
And a clip from later in the week, he asks "Justin Trudeau has invoked emergency powers to deal with the Canadian freedom convoy – are these the actions of a liberal leader who believes in democracy?"

I suspect his loyalty is not to his country but to the WEF.

I watched Canada's parliament a bit this week. Turdoo could only vilify the convoy members and repeat over and over vaccines are the only way out. He even accused a Jewish gay woman of being a Nazi and racist.
And don't you love how he claims there a national emergency because of a peaceful protest by a "fringe minority with unacceptable views". By law the state of emergency requires a vote in Parliament, but he just assumed those powers anyway, sending in the storm troopers, and beginning to freeze truckers bank accounts. It was something to behold.

No, I haven't heard anything further about that lawsuit

@Lookout Surprisingly the lawsuit doesn't include, Trudoh, Adhern, ScoMo, and Joementia. This whole debacle has been "5 Eyes" centric.

And like you said yesterday I believe about Joementia still calling for emergency powers while

In the beginning of the Fitts video posted above, she says that she was told that they are moving the money out of the country. "It’s a financial coup." Your taxes are supporting the debt that is now in your retirement funds. Wow. I’ve been hearing about this for decades. A dictatorship of the deep state. asking to what extent Klaus Schwab and the WEF influence the actions and votes of members of Parliament, particularly when Emergency measures are being considered?

The man on the podium acts as if he could not hear or understand the question, then a member from the floor pronounces the question “disinformation” and the podium person moves on to the next question.

No acknowledgement and no answer are given. That intentional non response is your answer, and it speaks volumes about the capture of government by unelected individuals and their corporate sponsors.

They discuss a journal that concludes that IV is not effective as a treatment despite their own results showing less hospitalization, less need for ventilation, and less death.
Their own results showed a death difference of 3 to 10 between the IV and the control arm. Out of around 250 participants. Saving 7 lives out of 250 seems pretty effective to me.
They use the definition "severe form" and note that IV did not prevent patients to having Severe Form of Covid. Why wouldn't they use a meaningful metric like ventilation, admission or death?
This reminds me of the whole kerfuffle between Kory and Hill.

not reading it carefully. I’m guilty of doing that because too many numbers and I get lost so I just read the abstract and then the conclusion. After they read what supports their thinking they have to spike the football and tell people who believe that it’s helpful that it isn’t.

We are told to follow the science, but there are no absolutes involved in the interpretation of
science. It has become a catch-all phrase to mean whatever the mouthpieces intend.
Case in point, when Candice Bergman went toe-toe against Trudeau, they were both espousing
the refrain "science has proven" but the conclusions were 180 degrees opposite. So who is one
to believe? This mixed up mess of public dialog has been transmuted into a shouting match.
My science is better than your science, or I have a bigger audience than you, or if you don't
believe me, then you are against me type of hyperbole.

Can we just look at the facts and decide for ourselves?

I am really sick and tired of this game. FFS – it has an incredible safety profile – it is cheap – and it has the above efficacy numbers for admissions, ventilations, and death. And yet – the press is still screaming IVM is dead – and this proves it. IT FAILED TO PREVENT THE SEVERE FORM – whatever that means. According to the clinical endpoints, it is certainly more helpful than Remdesevir. This study seems to suggest that it is a valuable tool to be used – certainly better than what we have available now. This study makes me want to use it more ——-

One doc that posts on DK talked about how he’s tired of watching people with Covid die. I wanted to ask him why he hasn’t been speaking out for people to get treated with monoclonal antibodies so that they don’t end up being vented? On one of the many discussions on early treatments they talked about how a couple went to the ER because they were sick from Rona and one got the antibodies there but the other one was admitted and then he couldn’t get it because he crossed some imaginary line. They said that happens quite frequently. But remember how not many even talked about them for over a year after Trump was treated with them. Why? Because the PTB wanted everyone to get jabbed instead and the hell with the death count! I have no words for that.

Fauci and Walensky know damn well that ivermectin can help and they also know that the jabs are not perfectly safe for everyone. That’s unconscionable.

They are wondering if China’s zero Covid is worth it.

On December 22, 2021, the entire western Chinese city of Xi’an was put into lockdown. “It was all of a sudden,” says Fan, a Xi’An native and university student in his early twenties who didn’t give his full name, due to privacy concerns. “The university wouldn’t let us go outside of the dorms. Our freedom was restricted, and they stopped all our classes. I couldn’t leave and I couldn’t go home. We were stuck.” Xi’an, a city of 13 million people, spent the end of December 2021 and much of January 2022 in one of China’s most severe lockdowns. The trigger? A handful of cases of Covid-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, China has clung to a zero-Covid strategy consisting of strict containment measures that have served the nation remarkably well. China’s official death toll has remained under 5,000, and its total reported caseload of 124,900 is significantly lower than the 78 million cases in the United States or the 18.4 million in the United Kingdom. (No mention of the over 900,000 deaths in the US. I wonder why?)Aside from travel disruptions, life has been largely normal—and China’s success at containing the virus has become a source of national pride.

That issue of vaccine effectiveness is compounded by the uneven spread of coverage throughout China. Much of the country’s elderly population also remains unvaccinated and vulnerable—due to the government's decision to delay vaccinating seniors in order to prioritize those in high-risk jobs and to ensure the vaccine was safe for older people. (Chinese vaccine makers reportedly included fewer elderly people in final-stage trials than did those in the West.) Although China opened up vaccinations for seniors aged 60 and above in March, health authorities proceeded cautiously and vaccine hesitancy remains high—nearly nine months after China started offering Covid-19 vaccines to people aged 60 and above, about 50 million in this age group remain unvaccinated. For those aged 80 or older, vaccination rates range from slightly above 40 percent to below 30 percent in some areas, a National Health Commission official told state broadcaster CCTV in December.

In China and abroad, people have started to question the validity of the government’s zero-tolerance approach. “I understand many are still afraid of the virus and willing to bear the burden [of zero-Covid], but I feel we’ve reached a certain point,” says Fan, whose parents had to quarantine for two weeks at their own expense after meeting a friend who visited a grocery store linked to a single Covid case. “It has a huge impact on us.” So why is the government insisting on pursuing a zero-tolerance strategy? The official line is that abandoning it would lead to a devastating outbreak that would overwhelm the health care system and disrupt social stability. And experts say this is valid—to a certain degree. But the situation is far from straightforward.

It goes on to say that China’s vax is less effective than the other ones that are given here. Well it sure seemed that many people who were triple jabbed still came down with omicron, but let’s not talk about the breakthrough cases since the CDC has decided not to tell us about them anymore. Alex Berenson discusses this here. Even the NYT is finally questioning why they have stopped doing it. But bottom line is that for some reason it’s wrong for China not to want its people getting Rona and quite alright that people here do. Sure what’s a little long Covid for those who only have access to health care in America?

Not everyone agrees a large-scale outbreak would be as disastrous as the state makes it out to be. In fact, there are many steps China can take to mitigate the damage done to vulnerable communities and the health care system as it eases out of a zero-tolerance strategy, experts argue. Such measures include introducing more effective vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, making more accessible antivirals available for use, and educating the public on the health risks posed by the virus. “If you have these measures in place, you can significantly reduce the risk to make it manageable,” Huang says. The cost of maintaining zero-tolerance, he adds, will only increase over time. “You have to give up that strategy. You can’t expect the virus to disappear.”

That’s all I’m going to read. Remember the sh*t storm that broke when Trump hinted at herd immunity? Democrats were all over him for not valuing life. Same with Johnson and Sweden. I don’t have any answers for how to stop the epidemic, but it doesn’t seem like anyone here has one either. Given the high and steadily increasing vaccine coverage rates in large parts of the world and the ongoing mass vaccination of children and continuation of booster campaigns, I am of the opinion that Omicron has the capacity to evolve into a much less benign variant, regardless of whether or not infection prevention measures are relaxed or lifted.

A coronavirus (CoV) can only replicate and mutate. The widely held belief that during the course of a pandemic viruses tend to become more infectious but less virulent is a myth—one kept alive by those who don’t understand the evolutionary dynamics of a pandemic. The latter are fully dependent upon the outcome of the interplay between the virus and the host immune system at a population level. Abiding by this ‘rule’ is the sole qualifier necessary to be an expert of viral pandemics. For several months I’ve been warning that continued mass vaccination and high vaccine coverage rates would prevent SARS-CoV-2 (SC-2) from generating sufficient herd immunity to control, let alone end, the current pandemic (1, 2, 3). The advent of Omicron hasn’t changed my mind, on the contrary!

Now that mass vaccination campaigns have quickly rendered the virus resistant to the adaptive immune response (cfr. Omicron), I am fearful that this may have a snowball effect. I’ve been postulating that the mechanism of innate immune adaptation to viral exposure (i.e., through a process of epigenetic changes referred to as ‘training’) is compromised in the vaccinated population and I am now predicting that the resulting burden of infectivity will cause massive population-level immune pressure on Omicron. In an attempt to overcome high immune pressure on Omicron’s infectiousness, natural selection of viral mutants that are capable of resisting both the acquired SC-2-specific and the CoV-reactive innate immune response in vaccinees is likely to occur. To understand why I fear that the growing vaccine coverage rates that we’re witnessing in large parts of the world could ultimately promote the propagation a new type of variant that has the capacity to fully resist both types of SC-2-directed immunity in the vaccinated population, one must turn to the ‘rule’ mentioned above:

While the vast majority of healthy unvaccinated individuals continue to resist Omicron’s high infectious pressure by virtue of the ongoing training of their innate immune effector cells (4, 5), a steadily increasing number of vaccinees are now becoming more susceptible to vaccine breakthrough infection and contracting C-19 disease. Although resistance of Omicron’s receptor-binding domain (RBD) to vaccinal anti-S antibodies (Abs) is thought to diminish suppression of innate Abs and therefore enables a predominantly mild course of the disease, a subset of the S-directed Abs may still be able to bind to immunogenic domains situated outside of the RBD of the S protein. Abs directed at the N-terminal domain, for example, have been reported to interact with lipid rafts on target cells via multivalent interactions (6, 7). As multi-specific innate Abs (i.e., IgMs) are known to bind to S using the same type of multivalent interaction, it is reasonable to assume that even non-neutralizing vaccinal Abs still have the capacity to compete with relevant innate Abs for binding to SC-2. It is, therefore, entirely possible that even non-neutralizing vaccinal Abs outcompete innate B1a cell-derived Abs for binding to SC-2, particularly under the following circumstances:

In conclusion, there is no place in this pandemic for any of the current C-19 vaccines. Even the most passionate vaccinologist can only conclude that the current C-19 vaccines are harmful, both from an individual and public health viewpoint, and that their use in mass vaccination campaigns is violating all rules of vaccinology. Instead of cutting the chain of viral transmission, these vaccines are now increasing the rate of infectious cases in the vaccinated as compared to the non-vaccinated population across all age groups (14-19). Furthermore, there is no single scientific rational, let alone scientific data, to believe that their use in mass vaccination campaigns across all age groups (including children and pregnant women!) will not entail detrimental consequences for both individual and public health. Those would come on top of the alarming rate of adverse events that are regularly reported shortly after the injection of the genetic C-19 vaccines. The ongoing mass vaccination campaigns are a threat to our human species. Vaccine mandates and immunologic discrimination are, therefore, a crime against humanity and will undoubtedly be referred to as such in the history of mankind.

Once again, I hope I am wrong, but unfortunately, I doubt it. I am afraid to predict that it will take a disaster before these hardened sinners become fully aware of all the harm they’ve been causing to our very own species.

Public Health Scotland will stop publishing data on covid deaths and hospitalisations by vaccination status - over concerns it is misrepresented by anti-vaxx campaigners.

Why that’s exactly why the CDC said that they were going to stop publishing this information. Almost word for word as shown in the Alex link above. They don’t want to give the anti vaxxers fodder to say that the jabs don’t work. 2 is a coincidence, let’s see if I can find #3 and we can call it a conspiracy. My local rag has also stopped reporting on breakthrough cases and deaths, but they didn’t say why they did. However most of the deaths are in the 64-85 age group where most of them have been jabbed. Especially people who are in long term health facilities.

They are wondering if China’s zero Covid is worth it.

On December 22, 2021, the entire western Chinese city of Xi’an was put into lockdown. “It was all of a sudden,” says Fan, a Xi’An native and university student in his early twenties who didn’t give his full name, due to privacy concerns. “The university wouldn’t let us go outside of the dorms. Our freedom was restricted, and they stopped all our classes. I couldn’t leave and I couldn’t go home. We were stuck.” Xi’an, a city of 13 million people, spent the end of December 2021 and much of January 2022 in one of China’s most severe lockdowns. The trigger? A handful of cases of Covid-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, China has clung to a zero-Covid strategy consisting of strict containment measures that have served the nation remarkably well. China’s official death toll has remained under 5,000, and its total reported caseload of 124,900 is significantly lower than the 78 million cases in the United States or the 18.4 million in the United Kingdom. (No mention of the over 900,000 deaths in the US. I wonder why?)Aside from travel disruptions, life has been largely normal—and China’s success at containing the virus has become a source of national pride.

That issue of vaccine effectiveness is compounded by the uneven spread of coverage throughout China. Much of the country’s elderly population also remains unvaccinated and vulnerable—due to the government's decision to delay vaccinating seniors in order to prioritize those in high-risk jobs and to ensure the vaccine was safe for older people. (Chinese vaccine makers reportedly included fewer elderly people in final-stage trials than did those in the West.) Although China opened up vaccinations for seniors aged 60 and above in March, health authorities proceeded cautiously and vaccine hesitancy remains high—nearly nine months after China started offering Covid-19 vaccines to people aged 60 and above, about 50 million in this age group remain unvaccinated. For those aged 80 or older, vaccination rates range from slightly above 40 percent to below 30 percent in some areas, a National Health Commission official told state broadcaster CCTV in December.

In China and abroad, people have started to question the validity of the government’s zero-tolerance approach. “I understand many are still afraid of the virus and willing to bear the burden [of zero-Covid], but I feel we’ve reached a certain point,” says Fan, whose parents had to quarantine for two weeks at their own expense after meeting a friend who visited a grocery store linked to a single Covid case. “It has a huge impact on us.” So why is the government insisting on pursuing a zero-tolerance strategy? The official line is that abandoning it would lead to a devastating outbreak that would overwhelm the health care system and disrupt social stability. And experts say this is valid—to a certain degree. But the situation is far from straightforward.

It goes on to say that China’s vax is less effective than the other ones that are given here. Well it sure seemed that many people who were triple jabbed still came down with omicron, but let’s not talk about the breakthrough cases since the CDC has decided not to tell us about them anymore. Alex Berenson discusses this here. Even the NYT is finally questioning why they have stopped doing it. But bottom line is that for some reason it’s wrong for China not to want its people getting Rona and quite alright that people here do. Sure what’s a little long Covid for those who only have access to health care in America?

It also decides what is best for China.

Not everyone agrees a large-scale outbreak would be as disastrous as the state makes it out to be. In fact, there are many steps China can take to mitigate the damage done to vulnerable communities and the health care system as it eases out of a zero-tolerance strategy, experts argue. Such measures include introducing more effective vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, making more accessible antivirals available for use, and educating the public on the health risks posed by the virus. “If you have these measures in place, you can significantly reduce the risk to make it manageable,” Huang says. The cost of maintaining zero-tolerance, he adds, will only increase over time. “You have to give up that strategy. You can’t expect the virus to disappear.”

That’s all I’m going to read. Remember the sh*t storm that broke when Trump hinted at herd immunity? Democrats were all over him for not valuing life. Same with Johnson and Sweden. I don’t have any answers for how to stop the epidemic, but it doesn’t seem like anyone here has one either. It’s just interesting that instead of being congratulated for less deaths then we’ve seen others want China to have more than 5,000.

The pattern has been to maximize the fear quotient for EVERY variant of interest that comes down the ‘pike.

On the other hand, the entire Omicron lineage appeared from “nowhere” (aka bio-lab?) gifting us with two ‘sibling’ variants. Rather than indicating a progression of mutations of the original BA1 variant, the BA2 genome suggests concurrent development from a common seminal, and unknown, source.

In addition to the natural evolutionary progression of the viral disease process and our human interventions (in particular the mass vaccination program) that Geert describes, we also have the effects of known and unknown laboratory genetic manipulations into consider. Foul play can not be ruled out, but at the moment there seems insufficient evidence to either fully relax our guard or to reflexively push the panic button on BA2.
