The DLC called me
DLC fundraiser called me the other night. You know the disclaimer that the call is recorded and may be used for training purposes? Well, THIS call is definitely going to be used for training!
After his spiel, I told him that I was no longer a Democrat because I had DemExited last month. I said that I would not be intimidated or scared into voting for Hillary. I am not voting for Trump, I am voting for Jill. I am voting against the TPP. I am voting against fracking.
Look, I would love to have donated to the DLC. I've already given $400 this election cycle. But I paid it into a corrupt system. I wasted my money perpetuating the Democratic party's unethical, if not illegal behavior, and I certainly would not be rewarding them with my vote.
"Well, you know, a vote for Hillary is the only way to stop Donald Trump."
I don't care about stopping Donald Trump! Don't you get it? If a Donald Trump presidency causes an upheaval in the Democratic party, or its destruction, then GODSPEED TO THAT!

Nice!
Boy, I hope you got this in, verbatim
Yep
The conversation was just a little bit longer. This is what I remember of it, no embellishments.
“He may not have gotten the words out but the thoughts were great.”
lol love it
Don't believe everything you think.
Who says we want to stop trump?
For all that people say that trump & Hillary are both of the establishment, it is clear that the republican political establishment doesn't like trump (btw, someone was on cnn this am saying that if trump dropped out by 1 sep they could still get his replacement on enough ballots).
If trump gets elected, you'll have the Rs & Ds working against him (a la Jesse Ventura)
If Hillary wins, she'll work with the Rs & Ds will go along with it.
I don't want the things Hillary wants done done
Exactly. Hillary working with the Repubs, with support from
other democrats, would be worse than watching them all work against Trump.
Unfortunately, I think Rs would work wth Trump.
After all, he has merely taken off the mask and promoted the Rs actual agenda. Why wouldn't they support him?
On a side note, I just saw a Jill Stein ad. On MSNBC. She actually has enough money to run an ad! (So let's give her more). The message was, stop voting for the lesser evil, and vote for the greater good. She closed with (paraphrasing), vote like your life depended on it, because it does.
The Repubs don't like Trump
The Repubs don't like Trump because he's in it to directly enrich himself, rather than to work for Those Who Matter and to collect large crumbs en route. Trump and Hillary are both evils, as would be any 'acceptable' corporate/billionaire representative.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
I once got a call from the DCCC
It was the year that my Blue Dog Democrat Congressman had announced how he was FOR the repeal of the ACA. He got in office in the wave of 2008 because we usually have a Republican rep where I live. This guy didn't understand why he got into office so then he started acting like there had been some mistake and acting like the biggest Republican ever in order to appeal to the people who hadn't voted for him as opposed to those that did. Classic Dem mistake. (Yes, he lost the election).
Anyway, the caller and I actually had a pretty nice conversation and it ended up with me doing more of the talking and her asking more of the questions instead of the reverse. She kept saying "I did not know that" when I told her very specifically why the Dems were pissing me off so much.
When the call was over, my husband, who had heard my side of the conversation said, " I would bet $100 bucks that they hung up, got their coat and clocked out."

Well done!
I carefully print on the solicitations I've been receiving that I have no interest in stopping Trump if the price is a vote for Clinton/Kaine. That if the D party had as much interest in stopping Trump as it trumpets (sorry), it would have nominated Sanders rather than putting every possible roadblock in his way, legal and otherwise. Instead, it would rather risk losing than risk any meaningful reforms or dwindling of the corporate money pump. Couldn't even adopt an unequivocal anti-TPP or anti-fracking statement in the non-binding party platform.
So for the future of the species and the planet, I must vote Stein. #I'mWithDrHer

ask them...
...if Clinton has it in the bag then what's the worry about Trump?
they're going to tell you she doesn't have it in the bag?
I just answered a Democracy for America email survey. It
seems to indicate that the Dems are well aware of the four way race and the issues. People here at 99% could have written the survey! Of course, upon completion the Act Blue donation page came up.
I think TPTB know the issues but are hoping to hold onto power through misdirection, divide and conquer, and fear of boogeyman Trump.

I've never been a Dem and they call me anyway
I've never been a registered Democrat but they still call me because I've donated to their candidates. In the last presidential election four years ago, I asked the caller if he knew of any actual Democrats running for President.
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."
Perfect!
How do you know
if it is the Democratic Party calling?
I would like to give them a piece of my mind also but I got tired of polls about my how much TV I watch--none--and where I buy groceries, and I stopped answering the phone unless I knew who was calling.

A Democratic volunteer called me the other day
to ask if I was going to vote for Hillary (I've done a lot of volunteer work for them in the past). I said "absolutely not!" And that I'd vote for Jill, unless Hillary seemed to have a chance to win Wisconsin, in which case I'd vote for Trump. She asked why & I said 1) the TPP and 2) warmongering. She then tried to tell me that Hillary opposes the TPP - I said no, that "opposition" was weasel-worded. Sad. Poor kid wasn't really up on the issues.
