Democrats radical agenda of standing absolutely still is not selling

The Dems rolled out their snazzy new slogan the other day, “A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages”, and surprisingly people didn't swoon over it. Probably because it sounds like “Better ingredients. Better Pizza.”

It doubles down on Democrats’ useless, played-out trope that they are simply better than Republicans.

Here's a few of the reactions.
The Democrats Unveiled a New Slogan and It's Infuriatingly Stupid

Congratulations to those of you who reflexively whispered "...Papa John's" before burying your head in your arms and sobbing quietly.
For God's sake, it's been only two weeks since the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee invited the Internet to vote on which inane resistance-themed Pinterest meme it should turn into a 2018 bumper sticker, and 13 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes since the Internet responded by mercilessly roasting them for it. But instead of promptly firing every Don Draper knockoff involved in the creation of these abominations, the people charged with wresting control of the country from a senile bigot less than 18 months from today are indeed poised to roll out what sounds like a marketing tagline for Corinthian Colleges.

Some people have noticed something missing from this slogan, other than it not being any good, is any mention of health care.
Remember that Sen. Chuck Schumer was part of creating this slogan.

The Affordable Care Act was aimed at the 36 million Americans who were uncovered. It has been reported that only a third of the uninsured are even registered to vote. In 2010, only about 40 percent of those registered voted, so even if the uninsured kept with that rate (which they likely did not) you would still only be talking about 5 percent of the electorate.

i.e. the uninsured don't vote.

Yeah, I know. Hardly breaking news, but the analysis is pretty good:

But as the New Republic reported in a previous article, many of these accomplishments, with the notable exceptions of gun control and gay marriage, are flimsy and incomplete, in large part because Cuomo has been reluctant to help Democrats gain control of the state Senate. In a bizarre arrangement, eight Democrats caucus with the Republicans in New York’s Senate, a legislative marriage that Cuomo is believed to have brokered to give the GOP control of the chamber.

…(the kind of voters they need) — are things they would never say and things they don't want.

"Power for the People," would get my attention. So would, "Building a 21st Century America." Even something generic like "A better future right now." Why not "Making the economy work for everyone?"

Both parties are sick. The voting system is compromised. The funding is corrupt. Diverse-population representation is structurally impossible. Democracy is tyranny. And our obsolete constitution has been privatized by the capitalists.

If I were running a third party, I'd go for the win with the slogan, "A Senator in Every Pot."

The democrats have come up with another plan to re-take control of congress and it's a sure fired winner, by golly.

Hey, I have an idea. Let's court the Blue Dawgs again.

The DCCC believes that winning seats is "more important than any Democratic purity test for potential candidates," Bloomberg reports. Given the extreme headwinds any attempt to revive Blue Dogism will face, this rhetoric is cover for the fact that the Wall Street and medical industry lickspittles in key positions at the DCCC would like lots of Blue Dogs in Congress, both to keep out leftist candidates and to provide cover for failing to pass policy that base voters actually want

I'm sure that the Clintons and Obama are on board with this. I can actually feel their hands on it. People have another think coming if they think that the Democratic Party is going to move to the left.

@k9disc out in the open like this is and shows that what we want doesn't matter to them. The only thing that they want from us is our money and our votes.
The Green Party needs to get their shit together and take advantage of how many people are fed up with the DP.
If they do, then we will start making inroads on making the DP irrelevant.
If Bernie is seriously trying to change the direction that this country is going, he should join the GP and their candidates.
This video shows that it doesn't matter how many people want congress to pass any legislation that would help us, if their masters doesn't want it passed, it's not going to. Period!

@Wink that I'm aware of. But the way that Keith is behaving in this video is disturbing and out of character for him, IMO.
When he was on during the Bush administration, he was intense about covering what the people were doing, but not like he is in this video.,

I think that the people who are anchors have gotten their talking points given to them and they are obeying.,
I'm not sure what I would do if I was in their positions, but I would like to think that I would stick to my integrity. Especially if I had a few millions stuck away somewhere.
Both he and Rachel have been paid quite a lot of money over the years and just how many millions does one need to be happy?
I'm pretty sure that I would be very comfortable if I had $1-2 million as would most people.
Especially people who have been living on the edge for quite some time. Smile

both.

It's as simple as that.

It's funny; I don't even have to wonder as to where their loyalties will lie on this one.

They don't want our votes, they want corporate sponsorship.

Corporate sponsorship is more important than the vote.

That, in a nutshell, is THE problem with American politics and culture.

What they're really saying:

The new Democratic slogan goes better with Coke

Any Progressives that don't support the Establishment Democrats are beaten into submission.

After 8 months, you'd think they could have come up with something better.

Although it might not resonate with the voters, if the Democrats were being truly honest, this would be their slogan:
