CIA teams trained at Harvey Point for the planting of mines

Not to make too strong a point of it, but just to say that our clandestine forces are known to have attacked shipping with mines, as well as with drones, in case there is any doubt that we could be a suspect in the Strait of Hormuz incident.

And furious that Pompeo is trying to make the farcical point that Iran aided Al Qaeda because Al Qaeda suspects traveled through Iran at some point in time, I want to add that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was trained with other jihadists at Harvey Point North Carolina when he was a student nearby during the time we trained jihadist terrorists in the use of explosives.

A terrorist training base that specializes in car bombings

(WMR)—For some three decades, local residents near a top secret terrorist training base have reported on hearing explosions, seeing sudden flashes of light and night time flares, and noticing small planes and “black helicopters” arriving at and departing from a small airfield on the base. The airspace over the base is off-limits to unauthorized aircraft.

The base is not in Pakistan’s restive Waziristan region or in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley but in northeastern North Carolina on Albemarle Sound, near the town of Hertford. Officially known as the Harvey Point Defense Testing Activity the base, which was once a Navy Supply Center, actually serves as a paramilitary training course for the CIA and allied intelligence and paramilitary services, including Israel’s Mossad and Britain’s Special Air Services (SAS). On march 20, 1998, The New York Times reported that during its existence, Harvey Point trained 18,000 foreign intelligence operatives from 50 different countries.

Among those terrorists trained at Harvey Point were those who worked for the Chilean military junta of General Augusto Pinochet, El Salvador’s death squad chief Roberto D’Aubisson, Egypt’s General Intelligence Directorate, Katangan secessionist leader Moise Tshombe, Angola’s UNITA guerrilla force, Colombian counter-insurgency personnel, Laotian anti-communist paramilitary forces, and Arab cadres who would later join Osama bin Laden’s forces fighting against the Soviets in Afghanistan.

… First used to train anti-Castro Cubans for the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1960, the base has seen Lebanese Phalangist militia train for the failed March 8, 1985, west Beirut car bombing assassination attempt against Lebanese Shi’a spiritual leader Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah, who was also known to be a leading figure in Hezbollah. Although Fadlallah escaped assassination, the car packed with 440 pounds of dynamite leveled an apartment building and a movie theater, killing 80 innocent people, including women and children, and injuring some 300 others.

… Former CIA operative Robert Baer wrote in his book, “See No Evil,” that his two weeks of training at Point Harvey was, for all purposes, an “advanced terrorism course.” Baer was trained in the use of plastic and other types of explosive materials... former CIA and Chilean DINA intelligence agent Michael Townley, convicted in 1978 for the 1976 car bombing assassination in Washington, DC of former Chilean Foreign Minister Orlando Letelier and his American assistant, Roni Moffitt... became part of the federal witness protection program in 1978 after his conviction in the murder of Letelier...Townley was spotted in Stockholm in 1986 a week before the assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme.

… Just north of the CIA terrorist training facility, past Elizabeth City, lies the sprawling Moyock, North Carolina training facility of the company formerly called Blackwater and now known as Xe Services. Now known as the United States Training Center, the Moyock facility is on a former U.S. Navy installation that once hosted a U.S. Naval Security Group Activity listening station that was part of the National Security Agency’s global signals intelligence eavesdropping network.

Harvey Point is used by Navy SEALS/Underwater Demolition Teams for training. Blackwater founder Erik Prince had served as a Navy SEAL and many of his early Blackwater employees were ex-SEALS. Their numbers were later supplemented by retired CIA officers. Navy SEALS/UDT and CIA teams trained at Harvey Point in the 1980s for the illegal planting of mines in Nicaraguan waters...

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

… According to official records, Sheikh Mohammed was born on April 14, 1965 (or March 1, 1964), in Balochistan, Pakistan.

At age 16, he joined the Muslim Brotherhood.[17] After graduating from high school in 1983, Mohammad travelled to the United States and enrolled in Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. He later transferred to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical engineering in 1986.[1][18]

In the following year, he went to Peshawar, Pakistan,[1] where he and his brothers, including Zahed, joined the mujahideen forces engaged in the Soviet–Afghan War...

water in this case, but did your wiki say that khalid sheikh mohammed had trained there or had trained there? your wiki leak said he'd confessed to all sort of nasty murders, bombings etc., but given that he'd been waterboarded 183 times, and that the victims of torture often provide false intel, and admit to anything that will stop the torture...i'm a bit leery about his actual guilt. but that's just me, of course. ; )

thanks for the madsen & robert baer historical narratives.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was trained at Harvey Point. It says he was in the Muslim Brotherhood, came to North Carolina as a college student, attended 2 colleges within an easy commute to Harvey Point and the special ops training base in Virginia. He then went to the Middle East as a key part of the jihad with a specialty in remote detonation of explosives, which was what Harvey Point specialized in training.

I am saying he was trained at Harvey Point. I have always felt the torture controversy was misrepresented by the media and of course by the Bush administration. After reading FBI interrogator Ali Soufan's Black Banners, I understood clearly that torture was used, not to gain intelligence, but to make all information gained during torture inadmissible in court.

So I believe KSM and others were tortured so that their cases and histories would not reach the public realm, much less a courtroom, because there are clear connections between these suspects and their training and our government, especially the CIA.

I don't know if KSM was the mastermind of 9/11 or if he carried out a plan designed elsewhere, likely in the United States. But he was here during the time we trained jihadists, and he was a jihadist before and after he was here, and he has yet to be tried publicly.
