Urge Senator Bernie Sanders: Don't Endorse Hillary Clinton for President.

Dear Senator Sanders:

This past Fourth of July represents a sad departure from Fourth of July a year ago when you said, “Now is the time to alter our government. Now is the time to stop the movement toward oligarchy. Now is the time to create a government which represents all Americans and not just the 1%.”

We call on you to withhold any endorsement of Hillary Clinton. Such an endorsement would be a complete abnegation of every precept you have put forward about why you ran for the office of President of the United States.

To endorse Clinton will be to repudiate your stance against oligarchy, entrenched privilege and dysfunctional government. It will also be a betrayal of us, your constituents. We supported you for President and continue the fight for a New Dealer in office. Endorsing Clinton is a vote for an Old Deal, a deal that consistently fails the 99%.

Changing our political narrative is but the beginning of governmental reform; embodying the change being called for is the one ethical position capable of confronting and changing a “lesser of two evils” choice when it comes to the voting process. More of the same will only increase public apathy and dissatisfaction.

We hoped you would be the next President of the United States of America and we remain committed to that goals you set forth. In the face of Clinton's nomination, we call on you to stand firm to your stated values and not endorse Clinton as presidential candidate of a system that continues to reward the top 1% of wealthy donors while short-changing the people who put their trust and faith in you. Such an endorsement not only lends Clinton undeserved validity, it also validates the DNC no matter how underhandedly they garner delegates dismiss reforms at the behest of their preferred establishment candidate.
We the undersigned believe you are better than that and enjoin you to reject any future endorsement of Hillary Clinton.
