Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
It is yet one more and I would suppose unexpected documentation of when she checked that box.

The comments are mind-boggling. "Family lore". As if there's no difference saying there's Native American blood somewhere back there and claiming one is a Native American.
More importantly, she's one of those Republicans who is now comfortable in the Democratic Party because today's Dem Party is what used to be Republican.
I am not sure that she is who I would want to vote for either. However, after the last election in which the two primary opponents had serious moral issues- "grab her by the pussy" and the other being an enabler of a life long sexual predator- and those issues didn't seem to really make a difference. I am not sure that people care anymore. It could sink her, or maybe, if she learned anything from Trump, she just stands in there and buffets the storm. We could have reached "peak scandal" as a nation. The fact that no one seems to even care that Trump or B Clinton are so connected to Epstein might be proof.
IMHO, indigenous people, or indians, or natives, or whichever title is preferred by these people, they get to choose by their standards who is an "Indian" and who is not. (as well as what they would like to be called) Whether they may choose blood quantum or lifestyle it is up to them not those of us who are the invaders. But when it comes to checking a box for an institution that is run by the invaders then the invaders get to choose in this situation. And if she met the qualifications set out by a bunch of non indians as to who gets to call themselves an indian then she is not lying. If she told a "real indian" that she was an indian then it would have to be up to that indian to decide if she was telling the truth or not.
Thats the way I see it anyway. And I think a lot of the younger generation will feel the same way.
She is the perfect establishment Democrat from MA, but I don't think she is going any further on the national stage. She understands the economic issues of the middle class in the US, or what is left of it. I haven't heard any interesting or progressive policies coming from her on other topics. Also, she failed the biggest test of all, not supporting Bernie. I really don't understand her using the Native American identification. Did she feel that it was an advantage? She is clearly not culturally or genetically N.A. She would be savaged by Trump in an election because of this. Also, as I said before, she whines. Not a great image. I'd like to see her in a position in Tulsi's cabinet. Actually, I'd like to see Abby Martin as the first female POTUS. Wow, now she is the genuine thing, a real Progressive. She is what Rachel Maddow pretends to be.

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.

Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
the "character" of the parties. We have the r's figured out. The d's, that's always a process of discovery. Is her populist bent even too much for the dem establishment? Mainly, the party seem to be a bunch of cowards. Shirley Sherrod comes to mind, they've learned nothing. By process of elimination they'll end up with the party make up they want. It won't be fun to watch.
