BERNIE SANDERS: Almost 7,000 of my supporters just signed up to run for office
Bernie Sanders has inspired thousands of supporters to express interest in running for political office.
After the Vermont senator made an impassioned plea to his supporters during a Thursday-night webcast to carry the "political revolution" forward, his campaign released a statement claiming that nearly 6,700 of his people said that they'd be interested in seeking elected office.
The supporters went to a portal on Sanders' campaign website, BernieSanders.com/win, and signed up to receive more information about running at the local or state level.

"I have no doubt that with the energy and enthusiasm our campaign has shown that we can win significant numbers of local and state elections if people are prepared to become involved," Sanders said in the release. "This will be part of transforming our country from the bottom on up."

I am an old lady and I've been watching politics sine I was a kid and I can truthfully swear upon everything I hold dear that this is an extraordinary man and we are living in an extraordinary time. We are being given a gift in this man's continued fight to make us a better country. We have to grab it while we can because people like Sander's don't come around very often. I've never seen anything like him and I am 66 years old and he's who I've been waiting for for decades. Every president from Reagan down has sold us short including Hopey-Changey. This woman that they've got lined up to take his place is worse than all of them except Reagan. And she's not far behind him.

Fill out the form, folks. It is for more than just running for
office. The form also has a place for people who want to volunteer to do other things to help candidates who are running. This is a good opportunity to stay in the loop.
I just signed up, not to run, but to help those who are running for office.
Edited to add: I think this a good way to learn some skills and insights into what it takes to run a campaign and to foster relationships with others who have similar goals. It does NOT mean that I plan to work for or within the Democratic Party. it means I will be prepared to help others of any party, hopefully a third party, who will advance the goals of the Revolution.

In Colorado, the Bernie supporters won the DNC seats, so at least he has some supporters in the DNC now.

This is very much needed.
But then, it was needed a year ago. Some states still haven't run non-presidential primaries, but others have.
I'll have to look into this. The problem is, how to do the vetting? I can see some RW nut job taking advantage of this effort to sneak into office.

If Trump wins the Dems will be able to claim they are the only hope. But if Hillary wins the party will continue to screw reformist candidates and force them to give up on the party.
