Bernie isn't even President yet and he's already healing divides in our Nation!

This really made me smile.

Why this isn't top of the headlines I don't know but is there any more proof you need to believe that Bernie Sanders can help heal the animosity between so many that has persisted for so long?

I am still a little butt hurt about the way Sanders handled the shenanigans dealt to him in 2016 and then something like this pops up and reminds me of something.

When you spend your whole life with class it's hard to change your stripes and roll around in the mud.

I do hope he's not afraid to get a little Dirty with the Democratic Party's obstruction this cycle since they've proven time and time again that the corrupt Corpricrats Running the DNC.

Previously I think he held off because he didn't want to attack fellow Democrats and hurt the party he considers his (even though he has an I because of his states dynamics).

However, as they kept accusing him of, "Not even being a Democrat" that he will realize that the DNC leadership are the ones that are not really Democratic or Democrats.

Go Bernie! I don't have the cash to send you like I did last time anymore (damn medical bills and massive house repair costs) but I will loan you my fingers on the keys and my mouth in the streets.

It's been a while since I have done my last Essay so I hope this one kept the feel that I had in my others. (I'm still trying to live up to the best comment my writing has ever gotten. Smile )

That is a very relevant and important piece. I hope Burnie's campaign is reading this.
But watch for AIRPAC coming up behind you.

When I saw that I immediately felt good and I think that this is a great indication of not just who Sanders is or what he can do but what he can do to help US come together like we should have been all along.

We are our own worst enemy in the war against the Oligarchy but I am still hopeful that enough of us will wake up and realize this fact.

Bernie can help us to that realization sooner I believe.

Actually, folks like Berniacs and c99ers have escaped this trap, with a lot of help from Bernie. We've come to terms with the fact that begrudging any benefit to any "others" only divides us and strengthens the hands of the plutocrats. It's all Identity Politics (IdPol) ever accomplishes, too.

We've learned that lesson, and our numbers grow every day.

The folks on a certain "Brand X" website need to pay attention, give up on IdPol, and back up their claim to "elect more and better Democrats" by kicking the New Democrats, the Turd Way, the conservadems, and all their Clintonesque ilk to the curb, loudly and publicly.

For, will ye or nill ye whosoever ye be, Bernie's political revolution will not die.

When I was in college, way back in the cultural wilderness of the early '70s, there was one of my classmates (college-age male) who thought it was a great idea to entitle his anthropological linguistics term paper "Cunning Linguistics". The paper was worth a good percentage of the final course grade. The professor was an older female, whom I, in hindsight, think was probably a lesbian. I never did find out the ending to that story.

maybe Chuck Rocha, saying their secret weapon for outreach to Latinos and Muslims is to talk to them, listen to their concerns, and ask for their vote. It's amazing how effective that can be.
That's why I'm not overly worried about Bloomberg. He can flood the airwaves, but not do outreach. A paid employee making calls for a candidate (no offense to people who are just trying to get paying work) is just a telemarketer. Volunteers who are passionate about the candidate they represent can change minds and drive turnout.

Something like 60 million Democrats voted in 2016.
Bloomberg has already spent over $200 million in ads.
I don't know why he doesn't just send a fiver to every Demo and ask for their vote.
Hell, he could afford to mail a $20 bill.
And I'm sure the John Roberts court would rule that it's a club, they do what they want.
Hey, with all the billionaires in the primary, maybe we could get a bidding war going and make a little beer money.
Just sayin'.

The non-joke part: Bernie's team knows this, and does it. None of this "blow 'em off to attend a meeting with megadonors" like we get from some Brand X candidates!

He has been patiently building out alternative infrastructure, from OR to new media to caucusing apps, while co-opting the brand to retain low information voters who just vote D.

Quote apart from their fear of losing power, the existing party leaders and surrogates in the media don’t seem to understand that the majority parties don’t actually stand for anything in particular - they are simply social labels that get attached to the two largest clusters in political phase space. (This is in contrast to the Greens, who have a specific set of principles.)

Bernie is creating (or surfacing) a large cluster and growing it to the point where it is one of the two largest clusters while retaining a link to one of the two major brands. This story is an example of how that growth happens.

@Hawkfish A kindergarten class was selected for a very interesting experiment years ago. I no longer have the reference. Without preparation, the kindergarten students entering their class rooms were arbitrarily given colored cardboard cards, red and blue. Without any verbal clues, the children, who heretofore were all mutually friendly, began clustering with those students who h eld the same color cards for no other reason than the cards were the same color.

Symbols can be very enticing, even when empty of meaning.

If JMS knew about that experiment and had it in mind.

The really scary part about that story line was how the two randomly chosen groups started to get violent.

2020 ELECTIONS

Women of color bolt Warren’s Nevada campaign in frustration
“Complaints, comments, advice, and grievances were met with an earnest shake of the head and progressive buzzwords, but not much else."

A half-dozen women of color have departed Elizabeth Warren’s Nevada campaign in the run-up to the state’s caucuses with complaints of a toxic work environment in which minorities felt tokenized and senior leadership was at loggerheads.

The six staffers have left the roughly 70-person Nevada team since November, during a critical stretch of the race. Three of them said they felt marginalized by the campaign, a situation they said didn’t change or worsened after they took their concerns to their superiors or to human resources staff.

“During the time I was employed with Nevada for Warren, there was definitely something wrong with the culture,” said Megan Lewis, a field organizer who joined the campaign in May and departed in December. “I filed a complaint with HR, but the follow-up I received left me feeling as though I needed to make myself smaller or change who I was to fit into the office culture.”

I saw a quick clip on CNN earlier on CNN and had it muted for most of it and it looked like she was having a panic attack and road rage at the same time and moving all herky jerky.

Of course by the time I found the remote and got it unmuted it was wrapping. I wonder if that is why she appears to be literally, 'losing her shit' (and I do mean that literally, I think she may have pooped a little at one point. Wink

I was gonna go looking for it but hadn't had the time, getting too much media overload bouncing from tv to 8 different tabs in two different windows in my browser, lol!

@humphrey How is it NOT a slide back to racism?

Either it's a pointless politically-correct euphemism for "black" people (a term which also doesn't work, nor does its counterpart), OR it's trying to re-divide everyone into a binary universe of "black" and "white", with (it would seem) African-Americans trying to arrogantly - even narcissistically - "own" Hispanics, Middle Easterners, Polynesians, etc. (and of course, we'll just nullify the existence of dark-skinned Jews like my grandfather, or of the Iranian exchange student I once met who looked like she could've been a Third Reich poster-child). If you think any of those ethnicities are interchangeable with "black" people, or that they would just unquestionably side with "black" people against "white" people in The Coming Race War(TM), you are, to say the least, royally deceiving yourself.

I apologize for raining on the parade of a rare "upper" story on here, but I am just sick of that term. It's Orwellian. The more we blather about "inclusivity and diversity", the less there is of it. They're blindly razing everything that's been learned and accomplished in the past 30 years.
