Are the Wheels Finally Coming off Russia Gate?

A baby born when Robert Mueller started his investigation would be talking by now. But would she have anything to say?

Michael Isikoff and David Corn were the first ones to talk about Trump colluding with Vlad to steal the election from Herheinous and they went on to write a bestselling book on it.

This started when someone from Fusion GPS gave them a copy of the Steele Dossier which was then used by the FBI to get FISA warrants on people in Trump's campaign starting with Carter Page. The number of people involved in this fraud from Obama's justice department is, well a lot.

Michael Isikoff Cuts His Losses at ‘Russian Roulette’

Last Saturday, veteran Washington journalist Michael Isikoff began a John Ehrlichman/Watergate-style “modified limited hangout” regarding the embarrassing overreach in his Russia-gate “collusion” reporting. He picked an unctuous, longtime fan, radio host John Ziegler, to help him put some lipstick on the proverbial pig. Even so, the interview did not go so well.

Those who can muster some residual empathy for formerly serious reporters who have gotten Russia-gate so wrong, may feel genuine sadness at this point. Those fed up with pretense, unprofessionalism, and dodging, however, will find it hard to listen to the audible squirming without a touch, or more, of Schadenfreude — the word Germans use to denote taking joy at the misfortune of others.

In a word, it proved hard to square the circle inside which Isikoff and other Russia-gate aficionados have been living for more than two years after last week’s disclosures. Ziegler’s repeated expressions of admiration for Isikoff’s work, plus his softball questions, utterly failed to disguise Isikoff’s disappointment that Robert Mueller’s Russia-gate investigation is “not where a lot of people would like it to be.”

“A lot of people” includes Isikoff.

Commenting on the trove of legal and other documents now available, Isikoff pretty much conceded that he and his co-writer, journalist David Corn were, in effect, impersonating serious investigative journalists when they published in April 2017 their gripping Russia-gate chef d’oeuvre: “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump.”

Trump’s Tweets Force CNN, MSNBC To Finally Discuss Flaws In The Steele Dossier

Viewers of CNN and MSNBC were exposed for the first time Tuesday night to coverage that undercuts the core allegations of the infamous Steele dossier, and it’s all thanks to President Donald Trump’s tweets.

Michael Isikoff was the first to report Dossier allegations and now seriously doubts the Dossier claims. The whole Russian Collusion thing was a HOAX, but who is going to restore the good name of so many people whose reputations have been destroyed?

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 18, 2018

….WILL NEVER BE PROVEN AND ARE LIKELY FALSE.” Thank you to Michael Isikoff, Yahoo, for honesty. What this means is that the FISA WARRANTS and the whole Russian Witch Hunt is a Fraud and a Hoax which should be ended immediately. Also, it was paid for by Crooked Hillary & DNC!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 18, 2018

Yahoo! News’ Michael Isikoff appeared on both networks to respond to Trump’s tweets thanking the veteran reporter for his recent comments that the dossier’s major allegations are likely false.

Isikoff has been at the forefront of the coverage of the dossier. He was one of a handful of reporters who met with dossier author Christopher Steele prior to the 2016 election to discuss the ex-spy’s investigation. That meeting led Isikoff to write the first article laying out some of Steele’s allegations. He is also co-author with left-wing reporter David Corn of “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War On America and the Election of Donald Trump.”

Isikoff’s Sept. 23, 2016 article would later be cited by the FBI in applications for spy warrants against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

But Isikoff has recently turned sour on the dossier.

In a podcast interview on Saturday, he disputed the host’s contention that much of the dossier has been validated. He also said that he now doubts the dossier’s two most significant allegations — that a tape exists from 2013 of Trump engaged in a “golden showers” scene with prostitutes in Moscow, and that former Trump fixer Michael Cohen visited Prague during the campaign to arrange payments to Russian hackers. (RELATED: Reporter Who Met With Christopher Steele Now Doubts Infamous Dossier)

In both interviews, Isikoff said that while he still believes that Steele’s core allegations — that Russia meddled in the election — have panned out, he believes that it’s claims related to the Trump campaign are flimsy at best, and likely false.

“The Steele dossier, remain uncorroborated and likely not to be. In fact, the evidence for them seems — the sensational allegations seem to be getting weaker rather than stronger,” Isikoff told Cuomo.

Cuomo also chimed in during Isikoff’s remarks, indicating that he too believes that the dossier’s claims about Cohen are false.

“It was probably the most specific serious allegation in the Steele dossier,” Cohen said of the Prague allegation.

He noted that Steele himself has said that he is uncertain whether the claim about Trump with prostitutes in Moscow is true.

Steele never went to Russia to speak with the people he quoted in his dossier, he got a lot of the names of the people he spoke to from Sydney Bluementhol, Hillary's long time BFF.

This is huge for the possible end of the never ending Russia Gate saga. The only way for it to be bigger is for Rachel Maddow to say, "My bad. I have been spinning this for all its worth!"

Stay tuned, things can get bumpy y'all!

You'll just have to buy a 55-inch monitor for your computer and rotate it to landscape mode. Wink

After I studied it for awhile, I began to appreciate how truly creepy these swamp people are. It's gotten even more incestuous and corrupt in the months since that infographic was published. Some new scandals breaking. The only constant in all this time is the complete lack of evidence of Russian collusion.

Best thing I can think of is to download it to your desktop, then use an image editing program to zoom in until it's readable (like 400%), then duplicate it on multiple layers, then crop each layer to the page size, then print it as multiple pages. That's still going to leave a margin when you print, you'll need to trim the margins off, then scotch tape it all together.
Or just view the image from your desktop. Much easier.

Recently I posted a comment that noted that the cost of the Mueller probe was nearly $19 million according to a fact check of a Donald Trump tweet. PolitiFact came to the conclusion that the Mueller probe had cost taxpayers nearly $19 million.

Recently, an update has been done on the cost of the Mueller investigation over the past sixteen months. CNBC and other media outlets are reporting that the bill is now over $25 million.

My question is that in light of Isikoff's confession about the validity of the Steele dossier and the FBI and Justice Department's falsification of FISA warrants, why is the Mueller investigation still continuing after 16 months and $25 million with not one shred of evidence to back up its original stated purpose? And yes, I know the question is rhetorical.

You aren't alone in wondering this. Or why is he being allowed to turn his attention to the Middle East? Everyone knows damn well that they are involved in election meddling.

Russia Gate is an investigation in search of a crime.
