Anyone else receive emails from CTR Media ("Correct the Record") tonight?
My husband received nine emails tonight after the Democratic debate from CTR Media ("Correct the Record") - below is one of them, but the theme of all nine is the same, slamming Bernie Sanders' performance at the debate, insinuating that Bernie really does have super pacs, etc. His research revealed that "Correct the Record" was originally created by American Bridge 21st Century to be a rapid response program to defend Democratic presidential candidates. In May of 2015, "Correct the Record" broke away from American Bridge to coordinate with the Clinton campaign (source: Washington Post May 12, 2015 article). Just wondering how they obtained our personal email address and curious about their timing since the Michigan primary (where we live) is this Tuesday. We did not have a chance to watch the debate but have seen a couple of Hillary-biased headlines on-line (i.e., Bernie Sanders snapped at Clinton in the debate). It appears that CTR Media is taking a page out of the republican smear book.

CTR STATEMENT ON TONIGHT’S DEMOCRATIC DEBATE
Washington, DC – Correct The Record President Brad Woodhouse released the following statement in response to tonight’s Democratic debate.
“While Secretary Clinton demonstrated her long term commitment to the people of Flint, Michigan and spoke with specificity and passion about raising wages, rebuilding our infrastructure and creating jobs, this debate was an unmitigated disaster for Bernie Sanders,” said Brad Woodhouse President of Correct The Record.
“In a debate over guns, Bernie Sanders stood by his vote providing immunity to gun manufacturers and continued to parrot talking points that could have come out of the mouth of Wayne LaPierre and the National Rifle Association.
“In a question about racial blind spots, Bernie Sanders said ‘When you’re white, you don’t know what it’s like to be living in a ghetto. You don’t know what it’s like to be poor.’
“In a debate over how to bring jobs back to Michigan, Bernie Sanders stood by his vote against funding for President Obama’s auto rescue which not only saved the American automobile industry but has it breaking records for auto sales. Apparently Senator Sanders is nostalgic for Mitt Romney’s famous headline ‘Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.’
“But perhaps nothing from this debate will be more memorable than Bernie Sanders rudely flying off the handle – losing his temper and shushing Secretary Clinton, wagging his finger and repeatedly yelling the likes of ‘excuse me, I’m talking’ and ‘let me finish.’ It was a cringe worthy moment from Senator Sanders more fitting of the GOP debate stage than the Democratic one.
“Senator Sanders came into this debate the longest of long shots to win the Democratic nomination having been all but mathematically eliminated. After that performance his climb became all the more steep.”

I deleted an email from CTR
I deleted an email from CTR last week. I think it was shortly after the TN primary. It was an unknown and unsolicited which automatically gets an email a one way trip to the trash bin. The accompanying AVG scam tag hurried it along. Sounds like my normal practice is proven effective once more. My email box is becoming more crowded with spam of a political nature. I really had no idea how I got on the lists but I imagine DK is one probable source.

If it had only been one email
I'm sure my husband would have sent it to the trash bin, too. But there were nine of them, all sent within minutes of one another, so hubby, being the curious guy that he is, just had to find out who was behind them (plus he was pissed that they all trashed Bernie!). We know the content of all the emails is complete bullshit and a lot of the so-called "facts" were cherry-picked. They wasted their time sending the emails to us -- we already voted for Bernie in the March 8 primary by absentee ballot!!
Life is like Disneyland - if you haven't been on all the rides by the end of the day, you have no one to blame but yourself.

CTR is a Super PAC founded by David Brock (who also founded Media Matters). This is somewhat amusing, since previously David Brock, a former conservative, has made a living off tearing down the Clintons. He now supports Hillary and has linked up with the Clinton campaign to tear down the Sanders campaign

Yeah, I make it a point to keep track of what David Brock has his dirty fingers in, and this is definitely one of his.
Brock is an utter slime ball. He is the guy who assassinated Anita Hill's character back when she came out against Clarence Thomas. He wrote a whole book about it, which became a best seller. He started what would become TrooperGate. He switched camps in the early 2000s. I would have never touched him with a 10-foot pole, and I thought his confession over-wrought and light on actual insight. He said that he was done with character assassination. We see how truthful that was.

That the Clintons even associate with him, never mind use him now to smear Bernie, speaks loudly about how morally bankrupt they really are.
I wonder how one can fight email campaigns like that. I also wonder whether they get their address list from the Clinton campaign.
Is it possible
that email addresses get from Dkos to the Clinton operation via the DNC? One of the primary functions of the site is to harvest email addresses and, judging by numerous complaints about spam, the addresses do get passed to other organizations.

Hubby was not registered with Dkos
and we use different email addresses. He thinks the DNC or our local Democratic party may have provided his address to CTR.

Wouldn't surprise me at all
One thing this cycle is illustrating is just how close the connections between the Clintons and the DNC are. I used to think that the claims that Bill and Hill had all but assimilated the Democratic party machine were exaggerations - not so much anymore.
Still wouldn't trust Dkos with email addresses though. Their constant petition drives based on silly memes of the day are designed to harvest emails and little else.
