About this Mayor Buttercup Guy – The Fly in the Ointment

This guy comes out of nowhere and is already a “leading democrat contender” for the democratic nomination. It's absurd. This guy is a nobody, with zero grassroots support, no infrastructure, fucking nothing, but he's already a “contender”, and came away from Iowa primary with more delegates than Bernie? Hmmm...

Well, according to WallStreetOnParade, he has over 10 THOUSAND lawyers supporting his campaign. Let that sink in...

"According to our tally from the Federal Election Commission’s data, 10,599 donor entries for Buttigieg list their occupation as lawyer or attorney. On top of that, there’s a high correlation between Buttigieg’s Big Tech donors and the law firms these lawyers work for: the law firms have big antitrust departments that work for Big Tech, at a time when it is under investigations for monopoly practices."

Just look at this top contributors...

But it's much worse than that.

“Is Buttigieg simply a strawman to throw the election to Trump? Is he a strawman to throw the Democratic nomination to billionaire Mike Bloomberg — who is willing to buy the Oval Office for $1 billion of his own money. Or is Buttigieg the brainchild of the biggest corporate law firms in the country who want to eliminate Senator Elizabeth Warren from the running because she has promised to break up Wall Street’s mega banks as well as the big tech giants Amazon, Google and Facebook – all of which are cash cows for the biggest corporate law firms.”

His healthcare plan is a fucking bad Hillary Clinton joke. From his website in big red letters...

“We must ensure that everyone has an affordable option for health coverage that guarantees access to care when they need it.”

Anytime a “candidate / politician” says “affordable”, it is not.

I can barely “afford” my cell phone and internet services, and some crappy food, how the fuck can I afford anything else, especially “healthcare”, it's fucking absurd!

Heck, I have to go to the “poor people's clinic” and they won't even give a proper diagnosis (actual diagnostic tests costs money), but they are just too happy to prescribe medications that I can't afford, and are more expensive than my fucking rent! I'm like “How can I afford $600 a month in medications, when I can't even afford $400 a month in rent?” crickets....

they are putting people in jail for not paying their past due medical bills!

In rural Coffeyville, Kansas, where the poverty rate is twice the national average, attorneys like Michael Hassenplug have built successful law practices representing medical providers to collect debt owed by their neighbors.

"I'm just doing my job," Hassenplug said. "They want the money collected, and I'm trying to do my job as best I can by following the law."

That law was put in place at Hassenplug's own recommendation to the local judge. The attorney uses that law by asking the court to direct people with unpaid medical bills to appear in court every three months and state they are too poor to pay in what is called a "debtors exam."

So, the lawyer representing medical companies, made a recommendation to the judge, to make people behind on their medical bills (ie force, under threat of arrest) appear in court, every 3 months to PROVE they are too broke to pay their medical bills. If you fail to appear, you go to jail.

The free market doesn't work for everyone. Oh no it works for those who have money to make it work for them.

Lots of people on my local board say that billionaires earned their money the old fashioned way and we shouldn't make them pay higher taxes than us. By hard work and giving their business everything they have. BS. Tax breaks and subsidies are rigging the system for a select few while others do have to do it the old fashioned way.

The free market is only free if it does work for everyone equally.

Pluto's Republic's picture

It seems like he came out of nowhere because his narrative has been sanitized and repackaged over and over again. It's like a Xerox of a Xerox of a Xerox. At this point in time, every article about him contains the exact same details parsed in the exact same way. If you were reading about him on paper, it would crumble to dust in your fingers.

If you try to take a closer look, you'll come up short using familiar internet searches. Most people will give up and let it go. I did a lot of research on many folks who conspired on the Russia Hoax of 2016. Among them, there were several who only showed up in desiccated form, like chalky limestone fossils. Or Xeroxes of fossils. If you didn't personally archive it, it would be different the next time you looked at it. Some of the details you remembered would be gone. Each time you looked, it would be more faded. I could never get used to this. I felt like something was looking back.

But I digress.

After a while, when you see these signs, you'll know immediately what you are dealing with.... Spooks.

His media coverage is strangely flavorless and dry. And your mind will know less than it did with each Buttigieg article you read.

The only quality coverage on Pete Buttigieg is being published at The Greyzone, where you'll find articles like these:

• Media darling Pete Buttigieg was in unit that worked with the CIA in Afghanistan

• The spooks' choice: Coup plotters and CIA agents fill Pete Buttigieg's list of national security endorsers

• The insider: How national security mandarins groomed Pete Buttigieg and managed his future

• Acronym group that sabotaged Iowa caucus birthed by billionaire who funded Alabama disinformation campaign

• Iowa debacle fueled by anti-Bernie billionaires, Russiagate hucksters, failed DNC elites

• Billionaire pro-Israel Buttigieg backer Seth Klarman funds group behind Iowa's disastrous voting app

• To rig primary against Bernie, DNC chair Tom Perez nominates regime-change agents, Israel lobbyists, and Wall Street consultants

.

Mostly authored by Aaron Maté. Poke around in there. Scroll further down for stories like those above.

The Intercept pretends to take a deep look at Buttigieg, but it is mostly scrapings from "news that doesn't mean anything" and Twitter leftovers. The interesting thing about The Intercept is that they're spooks, too. So it's instructive to watch them write about their cohort, academically speaking.

@Cant Stop the Macedonian Signal

Also, New Republic, which is absolutely sickening to read.

Indeed, it is striking how much Buttigieg owes to the Cold War liberals of yore. While avoiding the hyperbolic “axis of evil” rhetoric of the George W. Bush era, Buttigieg sees the world in largely binary terms, as a contest of universal values of democracy against autocracy. In his stances toward China, Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, and Iran, he avoids discussion of military force and relies on a combination of sanctions, technological innovation in the U.S., and multilateral diplomacy to tackle the threats each country poses to the U.S. But elements of Cold War thinking are reflected in his urgings to prevent China from “legitimizing authoritarian capitalism as an alternative to the democratic capitalism embraced by the United States.” Buttigieg still sees defense against threats to ideas, to values—not simply states—as the basis of a world order.

Such a moral view has skewed Democratic presidents’ notions of “good” and “necessary” wars before. “I guess we’ve got no choice, but it scares the death out of me,” Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson remarked, on first sending the Marines into Danang on March 6, 1965. Marines remained there long after Johnson had left office.

Forty-three years later, in a foreign policy speech that began—like Buttigieg’s—by extolling the Marshall Plan and American values, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama declared that he would divert resources away from the “careless” Iraq War in order to redouble U.S. military efforts in Afghanistan. “I will make the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban the top priority that it should be,” he said. “This is a war that we have to win.” President Obama, too, was outlasted by his good war.

.

I feel so sorry about what's happening. Poor doomed Americans. Everyone is lying to themselves and each other. And they're throwing themselves an old-fashioned election. Yee haw! Y'all come and vote!

I think up until Obama passed the domestic propaganda bill in 2012, there might have been a chance to reach some kind of sanity threshold via facts and information. But I know that is just my own brand of delusion.

Then I imagine if you could get Americans to write down what they want the future to look like —just a sentence that described their goal for the nation — it might reset the collective mind, when the submissions reached critical mass.

@ggersh he has the backing of, wait for it, a Russian linked Oligarch! I shit you not...

From Twitterverse

From Law&Crime

Democratic presidential candidate and former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg is facing questions after recent revelations that his 2020 effort has taken campaign contributions from an infamous Republican Party billionaire with direct links to the Russian oligarchy. That’s according Federal Election Commission (FEC) data reviewed by Law&Crime.

Snip

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow long and loudly beat the anti-Blavatnik drum–and played up his oligarchical connections–while he was mainly known for donating to Republicans and ramped up criticism amidst a controversy that saw Deripaska’s network delisted from the United States’ sanctions regime against the Russian Federation."

snip

And, since making the donations to Buttigieg’s campaign, the Blavatniks have attempted to “purchase” “influence” (as progressives maintain) with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) as well, giving the Democratic Party’s leading congressional incumbent protection organization well over $400,000 — all the while hedging their bets and keeping up similarly-sized donations to the GOP as well, according to publicly-available data collected by the FEC. Giving to both sides is a tactic also employed by some American businesses and business leaders.

Not a fan of TYT, but here's a link to an excellent investigative report about his history in South Bend, which alleges that Bootyjizz got bought off by an $10,000 donation from someone in South Bend who wanted the black police chief (Boykins) fired. Well, Booty got elected Mayor and the Black police chief got booted -- how's that for a quid pro quo? A lot clearer, IMHO, than some phone call that got Trump impeached by the Dem. Congress.

will be the dictator that we're all assuming would be Trump. Total speculation on my part but all his connections to the Deep State would sure make him the ideal candidate for that role. Not to mention he's young, he's gay, and he is nice looking, qualities that would probably serve nicely to blunt his dictatorial aspects with just enough of the electorate, and he's not so blunt about his tendencies as Trump is. I confess I have never watched Mayo speak but if he's well spoken and can look like hope and change, who knows. He might be just the perfect one to actually pull it off while most people sleep peacefully through it and convince themselves the danger is gone if Trump should lose to him. Now, that said, I do not believe Mayo would beat Trump in 2020, but what's to say they don't roll Pete out in 2024 after things are even uglier than they are now?

of him. But when you see him speak look at his eyes and that thing he does with his nose and upper lip when he doesn't like what he's heard.

He is now calling out the democrats for the deficit even though it's been republican tax cuts that have driven it up as well as the ever increasing military budget. And remember he thinks every high school student should serve....after they graduate. Yay for mandatory servitude.

His health care plan Medicare for some will tag people who can't afford to buy it with a years worth of premiums if they don't.

Bottom line is Pete the Rat is removing all his masks and telling people who he is. It's amazing how many centrists are voting for him. But I doubt they have looked deeply into what his platforms really consist of. He reminds me of Obama with none of the charm or any of the other things people saw in Obama before he took his mask off. I'd say anyone thinking of voting for him that they should run. He'd be horrible for the country.

@snoopydawg Not that I am for one, but the draft did cause problems for our owners during Vietnam, so now we have a "volunteer" military which makes it much easier for the general populace to ignore the wars since they are not touched by them so much. Hearing this from Pete the Cheat does give me chills though. That whole National Service thing might sound good in some feel good way, I used to think so, but now I would not advocate that in any way, not in "service" to this shithole country and its "interests" for damned sure. Perhaps Boot is just softening up the crowd for that next war when our owners may have to resort to a draft, recruitment numbers are down even in today's shitty economy, get the public on board thinking it's only National Service and maybe they don't make one peep this time around. With our fully propagandized population it just might fly. Must do what ever we can to protect our way of life now....

.but when that country has been at war for longer than a few years it's a bad idea. It's mandatory cannon fodder for the elite. Period. Besides we already have so many unaccounted private mercenaries that are getting paid big bucks and I doubt that anyone who gets drafted would get paid more than peanuts. But you're right that if it's propagandized the right way people will buy it.

The more I learn about Pete the more I dislike him. Especially after reading an article on his life. Yuck!
