2nd white male arrested for torching Pct.3 in Minneapolis

This one by Federal Police. (From various sources)

Dylan Shakespeare Robinson (22) of Brainerd, MN, and was apparently captured on CCTV film inside the precinct building. He’s being charged with arson, and a second count of aiding and abetting arson, which can apparently carry a penalty of twenty five years in prison.

The investigators reviewed a video allegedly posted on Robinson's Snapchat account that shows at least one individual appearing to make a Molotov cocktail while multiple unidentified voices provide directions on how to make the crude explosive device. Robinson allegedly posted several comments during the Snapchat video, including, "These guys have never made a Molotov," "Rookies" and "We need gasoline," according to the complaint.

Investigators reviewed another Snapchat video in which Robinson can allegedly be seen setting fire in a stairwell within the Third Precinct, according to the complaint.

ATF then released photos of Robinson as well as other suspects accused of setting fires to the police station and asked for the public’s help in identifying them.

On June 10, a woman emailed the ATF stating Robinson was one of the suspects. He had gone to school with her son.

Robinson is currently on probation in Crow Wing County, Minnesota related to a conviction of fourth degree possession of phencyclidine/hallucinogen. According to his probation officer, Robinson is currently in violation of his terms.

On June 12, investigators obtained a search warrant for information on Robinson’s phone. Data showed that Robinson was in the vicinity of the Minneapolis police station on May 28.

Cellphone data then showed Robinson was located near Denver on June 13 and was headed west of the city. Robinson was then arrested on Sunday, June 14 in Breckenridge at about 2 p.m.

Robinson’s due back in court on Friday for Detention hearing re:: bail, flight risk, possible transferrence to MN.

Now at least in the coverage I’ve seen, D. Shakepeare Robinson hasn’t pretended to be a ‘peaceful police-state protestor for George Floyd’ as had Brandon Michael Wolfe [‘white male arrested in the burning of Precinct 3’, june 10, 2020 ] , whose name only one site’s coverage had even mentioned. He was due back in a Hennepin court on Thursday June 11, but his name has vanished from the 'current' news.

or so? (i live in a timme warp by now.)

jeezum crow:

Gee urged supporters to “not come to Bethel right now”, in a chilling echo of so-called “sundown towns” – majority-white towns where black people were evicted, barred from buying property, and banned after dark by threat of violence earlier in the 20th century.

“It is not a time for any type of Black Lives Matter supporters to be in Bethel right now,” Gee said. “It’s not safe.”

“Our purpose was to show our community that it cares,” she said. “That it loves the people within our community, and right now, that cannot happen.”

in bethel, ohio?

i got to thinking that the police were looking to identify the 'white woman' who'd torched (or helped?) the Wendy's in atlanta where Rayshard Brooks was assassinated by police. bingling brought:

New photos released of white woman accused of starting Wendy’s fire;
Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward leading to the arrest of anyone who participated in the chaos that led to the fast-food eatery being torched, Ny Magee - New photos released of white woman accused of starting Wendy’s fire', June 17, 2020, thegrio.com

'Atlanta police previously released photos of two women connected to the fire. Both appear to be white and many social media users suspect that they are race soldiers for a Neo-Nazi group or agitators with the anti-fascist political movement ANTIFA.'

How does that work?

[Edit: I'm not saying he didn't do it.]

shakespeare robinson, then. beats me. wolfe had identified himself in the photo, and admitted to 'aiding and abetting the fire'. i have no earthly idea what do believe, esp. about him and his seeming court date disappearance from 'the news'.

@wendy davis
Turns out he was a rent-a-cop.

Last week, Branden Michael Wolfe, 23, of St. Paul was charged with aiding and abetting arson in connection with the police station fires. According to the criminal complaint, Wolfe was arrested June 3 a few blocks from a Menards home improvement store in St. Paul where he was fired earlier in the day from his job as a security guard. He was wearing body armor with his name written on duct tape on the back, a police utility belt and carrying a baton as he tried to get into the store, the complaint said.

Now there is your guy with a likely history of violence.

Dollars to donuts firebombing the precinct was Wolfe's idea. Also wouldn't be surprised if, before he handed Shakespeare the tools, Wolfe told Shakespeare to drop a tab or two so he could watch the visuals. Acid would certainly would help explain some of Shakespeare's seeming ineptitude as well as his lack of fear in running through the burning building.

Now who gave Wolfe the target, the plan, and the materials in the first place we may never know - although the chain may start with that probation officer.

@Not Henry Kissinger

or some such dinnae work: here it is., including these snippets:

“When Wolfe was arrested, he was reportedly “wearing multiple items stolen from the Third Precinct, including body armor, a police-issue duty belt with handcuffs, an earphone piece, baton and knife. Wolfe’s name was handwritten in duct tape on the back of the body armor.” Additionally, at Wolfe’s apartment, authorities found “a riot helmet, 9mm pistol magazine, police radio and police issue overdose kit.”

Wolfe was previously convicted of a petty misdemeanor trespassing charge and interfering with a 911 call. The 911 call case also initially included charges of domestic assault, property damage, trespassing and disorderly conduct, although those were all dismissed. Wolfe is still on probation for the 911 call until September 2021.
..............................
“The profile indicates Wolfe has worked as a private security guard at O’Brien and Associates and at Medusa Nightclub. The Star Tribune reported Wolfe was a former security guard at Menards, a home improvement store in Minnesota. Police arrested Wolfe on June 3 after receiving a complaint that he was trying to get into Menards wearing body armor and law enforcement equipment. He had been fired from the store earlier in the day after talking about his social media posts about stealing from the 3rd Precinct, according to the Star Tribune. The posts in question appear to have been removed from Wolfe’s Facebook page.

Heavy then features two of Wolfe’s Facebook posts, the second one noting that Orange Fanta had been invented in Nazi Germany in 1940, the contest to name it, and its name meaning in English: “Let your imagination run wild!”. He’d finished with: ‘Hope you’ve learned something from this. Good night!”

Wolfe appeared in court yesterday by video link before Magistrate Judge Hildy Bowbeer of the US Magistrate’s office n St. Paul. He’ll be appointed an attorney from the Office of the Federal Defender and will be held in custody pending a further hearing which is scheduled to take place remotely on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.

My sense, for what it’s worth, is that Wolfe wasn’t there to protest against George Floyd’s assassination by the 3rd Precinct cops, but an opportunistic, and at least slightly-deranged and violent frustrated wanna-be Cop. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about his profile in the future. Then again, maybe he was a cop.

on edit: gotta run; mr. wd's home with the groceries. be back in a bit.

My working assumption is that this was a provocation by the MNPD who used these two to burn down their own precinct as a screw you to the community.

Far from the first time a law enforcement agency in the US has set up patsies to do its dirty work.

In fact, I put the odds that these two jamokes were lone Wolfe domestic terrorists at about 20-1 against...

not having been familiar w/ that partcicular hallucinogen, i really have no idea of its effects, nor whether he'd had any in his pockets to give wolfe, but having been a bit of a psychedelic kid in my youth, fire would have flipped me crazy, but then LSD, for instance, actually changed the quality of the chemical packets across neuro-dendritite spaces. as in: lysergicc acid was a sacrament that showed us the inter-connectedness of all forms of life.

edited w/ cross-outs: rubbish, i just looked at his face again; what was i thinking?

but i do take your point, as hallucinogens of any sort may act to amplify what's afoot in someone's psychology to begin with. and certainly wolfe's history with domestic violence speaks to a violent past, even he may have threatened someone/s to drop the charges. antifa afoot?

thanks so much for weighing in, NHK. 'scuse tyops, my eyes have those C-shaped cornea prisms by now.

This guy fits a generic profile, but this one doesn't Could suggest a societal change that's not positive.

Lore-Elisabeth Blumenthal is a 33-year-old massage therapist accused in the arson of two Philadelphia police cars during the George Floyd protests. She was tracked down by the FBI using her peace tattoo and Etsy and LinkedIn profiles.

The FBI used Blumenthal’s social media to help identify her and they traced her Etsy T-shirt to the store where she bought it, a criminal complaint alleges.

'page not found' (at least for me) but the same info seems to be here at thesun.co.uk. she looks pretty white to me. but:

"Blumenthal allegedly set fire to both a police sedan and sport utility vehicle parked on the north side of City Hall.

She is accused of picking up a burning piece of wood to do so.

The US Attorney said that various videos and pictures taken at the scene allegedly captured her wearing protective goggles and gloves.

They allege the masseuse was filmed "taking a flaming piece of wooden police barricade from the rear window of the sedan that was already on fire, and then shoving the flaming wood into the SUV that was not on fire."

"Within minutes, the SUV was also completely engulfed in flames," court documents stated. "As result of the fires, both PPD vehicles were destroyed."

is the outrage du jour pour moi. An already abandoned and vandalized police car then torched by a couple of misguided, poorly counseled young lawyers of a non-white bent.

Being prosecuted by the feds with a major charge thrown in -- to give prosecutors more leverage in the negotiation stage but mainly to send a message to other anti-police/gov't protesters -- which if convicted on, would mandate a minimum 45-yr sentence for each, with a potential life sentence. For a property crime. One police car dashboard burned.

The two defendants are also having their attempts at getting bail thwarted by prosecutors.

This is the Trump Justice Dept/Wm Barr in action. Another reason why this president is very dangerous to democracy and has to go.

@wendy davis data entry linking error on my part. Despite my best efforts, every year or so these things tend to happen. Like the swallows returning to Capistrano, you just can't stop 'em.

Linkage should work for all concerned now. It's to an article in today's occasionally-worthy Intercept by some dude who's name is not familiar to me but the story seems egregious, and so Trumpian and Barrian.

you dunno maz hussain? who'd lionized the dark worse-than-psyop White Helmets as the saviors of syria" another in a long list of reasons not to trust the Intercept™. ; ) of course, amy goodman had done the same thing, and Netflix made a glorious biopic about them. ; )

but yes, those charges are sick.

i admit i'm a bit agnostic as to worse or better, biden or trump. but then i vote green, anyway. at least the Trumpeteer's racism and bellicosity are out in the open; obomba just smiled and fucked us all w/ his FP, saving wall street, not main street, immigrant deportations greater than trump's, on and on. biden has a pretty racist past, too, but i'd need to refresh my memory on that.

@wendy davis to remember, and some I never bothered to try to remember. When I start getting paid to remember all these names, I'll gladly do so.

As for Trump being upfront about his racism and authoritarianism, still doesn't sound so good, and I'd rather not risk a 2d term to see what greater havoc he can wreak, thank you. I'll consider (I said consider...) checking the box for the guy with the kinda checkered past bc at least there's some chance to nudge him leftward on some key issues, which in some areas he's already starting to do. Donald, uh, not so much.

But I understand your position on the Green Party, which we've previously discussed iirc. For me here in CA, I have a freebie vote, so am still considering writing in Jimmy Dore.
