Senate Dems Freaking Out!
I don't usually recommend reading Politico, but the butthurt is just too delicious:
For some Democrats, Bernie Sanders’ latest gambit — challenging Donald Trump to a debate to cap all debates — is the last straw.
“Bullshit,” said Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia. “That confirms what we’ve been saying. Why would you expect Bernie should be considerate or be nice or be working to bring everyone together? Why? He’s not a Democrat.”
This is what Joe had to say about Democrats when he was running for the Senate in 2010:
I have a feeling that Bernie isn't going to lose sleep after failing the Joe Manchin Democrat purity test. I hope he doesn't chicken out of running for re-election in 2018, so I can see him lose.
Of course the senior senator from the Pentagon is also having a meltdown.

I've heard that Team Bernie has Double Dog dared Trump to go through with it. Has Donny shown any sign of actually doing the debate or is he still trying to weasel out?

I heard at 5pm PST on AP network news that Trump
had agreed to the debate earlier in the day and that networks were negotiating who would carry it. This will be super bowl like ratings, free millions of eyeballs watching Bernie mop the floor with BOB--Bloviating Orange Billionaire. Hillary will get attacked from the left and the right and will be nowhere in sight unable to defend herself. Midway through the debate---BREAKING NEWS---FBI to indict Hillary! May the perp walk begin! Seriously though, some people are pissed that a politician running for president is trying to get attention? Who are these idiots? I'm loving it! May all there heads explode. I feel another donation coming on for Bernie!

The lede in this Politico story is a flat out lie. I wrote them an e-mail pointing that out. Fat lot of good it will do.

Debate idea OK with at least one Dem
Howard Dean was one Dem and Hillary backer who wasn't freaking out about it. He was on with Chris Hayes last night saying he'd love to watch a debate between Bernie and Trump and said Bernie would totally clean Trump's clock. He thought Trump was trying to weasel out, though, with all the goalpost-moving changes in his conditions. Dean also wasn't particularly worried that it would hurt Hillary, I guess because he thought Bernie would weaken Trump so badly it would be easier for Hillary to beat him. Someone must have forgotten to send him the Dem establishment freakout talking points before he went on.

Currently there is nothing genuinely democratic about the leadership of the Democratic party.
