New Reuters/Ipsos out Wednesday confirms that Trump is surging on Hillary

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-poll-idUSKCN0Y21TN

Over at the Great Orange Sellout, they have FPers and shills claiming that the Q poll this week showing Hillary doing poorly in swing states was a 'bad poll'. Other posted the recent PPP poll that was also bad for hillary, and more commenters wrote off PPP, despite the fact that TOP has paid PPP to conduct polls based on their reliability. Lol, TOP. But here's yet another poll for the DNC apologists to dismiss--

Donald Trump's support has surged and he is now running nearly even with Democrat Hillary Clinton among likely U.S. voters, a dramatic turnaround since he became the Republican party's presumptive presidential nominee, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday.

Here's the problem: in the SAME EXACT POLL less than 2 weeks ago, she was up 13 points. So she dropped double digits in the SAME POLL. But I'm sure they will find a way to Hillsplain all that.

Seems a lot of Americans prefer a vulgarian they see as 'honest' over an intelligent liar. This probably explains why Bernie does so well in national polls despite having less name recognition than Clinton/Trump. When people perceive you as honest in an anti-establishment cycle, it's a big advantage. In some other era, Clinton would be a solid lock for the win. But this year.......nope.

And if the fact that the right wing has chosen a populist that the people want, while the ' populist Democratic party' has anti-democratically chosen Hillary, isn't bad enough.....the fact that the Dem establishment is working to stab progressives in the back does not bode well for November. For all the talk of "the most important thing is beating Trump", one would think that screwing Sanders over on convention committees and shitting on his supporters day in and day out would be bad moves.

Bill Maher was screaming at Rob Reiner on set to not take for granted that Hillary will win in a landslide. And these latest polls are showing that the Democratic victory in November that most of the country assumed will happen might not be a guarantee. Clinton can lose. They have UNDERESTIMATED just how unpopular the Clintons are right now.

It still amazes me that so many don't seem to understand the long term hatred of Hillary and the Clinton's in general. She's never going to beat Trump. She sure won't be getting much help from progressives.

and I really want to share it as it pretty much explains the Bernie/Hillary divide so clearly. It was made in a response to a Hillary supporter who was demanding that Bernie supporters fall in line, support and vote for Hillary. The post he responded to was one of those in all caps!

He certainly speaks for me! Enjoy! And spread far and wide!

When we tell you that we are only voting for Bernie and will not vote for your candidate in the general election, we are not asking for your agreement nor are we looking for an argument. The reason we tell you is because we know how important it is to you that your party wins the general election. We know you fear a Trump presidency the way we fear a Clinton presidency. We are giving you notice before the convention, so you won't be surprised at our lack of support for Hillary if you were to nominate her. We're telling you this while you still have the opportunity to support Bernie Sander's nomination, so your party can win by including us.

Insult us however you want. It's not open for discussion. We are not bluffing. We don't trust her. Her words are meaningless. There is nothing she can say to change our minds. No "buts". We will vote for Bernie if his name is on the ballot. If it isn't we will write him in. Those of us who can't write him in might vote for the Green Party candidate Jill Stein or not at all.

We can all be united with your party if you nominate Bernie. You're on your own if you nominate her.

Sincerely,

The Independents, Conservatives, Republicans, Greens, Bernie-only Democrats, who have started the political revolution

FDR and RFK were great voices of the party so is Bernie Sanders

Those pantsuits.... I know we're not supposed to focus on appearances, but who in hell is dressing her? They are some of the ugliest outfits I have ever seen, and I am certainly no fashionista. That yellow thing she wore at both a debate and at GS is just so ugly and does "nothing for her" as my late mother would say. But I guess those outfits fit her in that they are as tone deaf as she is. I know, snarky and petty, but I am glad someone else said it too!!

Ted Cruz, the establishment will not be allowed to forget they chose HRC. If Sanders does not get the nomination, the establishment will have the profound enjoyment of trying to chase Trump down like a recalcitrant five-year old and make sense of his policies and will never know from one minute to the next what he will get into next. This could be a lot of fun. It will keep the establishment busy, while Sanders and We the People form a working party or two to replace the two that are crumbling.

In an email sent out on Wednesday, Bernie 2016 campaign manager Jeff Weaver declared plans to push for a contested convention in Philadelphia in July.

By nominating Hillary Clinton, Weaver insisted, the Democratic Party would be risking “disaster simply to protect the status quo” in the U.S.

“We’re going to have a contested convention where the Democratic Party must decide if they want the candidate with the momentum who is best positioned to beat Trump, or if they are willing to roll the dice and court disaster simply to protect the status quo for the political and financial establishment of this country,” he wrote.

Another Refugee from the Great Orange Purity Troll

this is why i don't care for 'incrementalist' change that obama and hillary seek: it doesn't fucking work.

Let's just look at the period of 2008-2010 when the Democrats controlled the Presidency, House, and Senate. The President paid great lip service to single-payer while behind the scenes he advocated against it. They didn't close Guantanamo, there were no prosecutions for torture, they bailed out Wall Street (I know, signed by Bush), didn't do anything about the Banksters (zero prosecutions), and provided no checks to avoid the next big crash. They did nothing about the failed drug war and kept incarcerating people for marijuana offenses and continued on their merry way making sure that student debt (which now exceeds credit card debt in our country) is not forgivable via bankruptcy....

Shall I continue? You may not want to face the facts but when the Democrats had control of all legislative branches they made sure to do as little as possible. After 2010 they had the cover of a Republican majority. Perfect.

Or are you a believer in the the virtues of incremental change? You know, crumbs for the masses.

Actually the incrementalism of obama and hilliary DOES WORK; it works exactly as intended. Step by step backwards for the working class and more and more for the Elites.

ObamaCare is a perfect example of that. Forced payments from us to the Insurance Racket while we get little or no actual health care out of it and insurance rates continue to eat up what little pathetic raises we might get. Which raises, in my case are exactly none, not in the past nine years.

this article on the intercept which Meteor Man diaried tonight.
It goes into detail about the types of people that Hillary will appoint in her administration and also shows how the democrats are just as corrupt as the republicans when it comes to taking money from the banks and other financial institutions.
And how so many democratic congress members have financial people on their staffs who help them write bills on banking regulations.
Barney Frank who helped write Dodd Frank had a person involved in the banks help write that bill. Which Hillary constantly harps about when she says that Obama has passed the most stringent banking regulations since FDR but she doesn't mention that the banks helped write it or that it has been so watered down that it is basically toothless. And remember that Frank is on her campaign staff.

And as bfk wrote that when the democrats were in the majority, they didn't bother to address any of the issues mentioned.
They let the GOP water down the ACA saying that they wanted their votes yet knowing damn well that they weren't going to. But they continued to let them add amendments to it and then they voted against them.
The ACA was given to Baucus and the democrats and Obama knew that Liz Fowler from WellPoint was on his staff and helped write the bill.

Please read Meteor Man's diary and read this link he included and see who might be on Hillary's economic staff if she's elected president. https://theintercept.com/2016/03/02/larry-fink-and-his-blackrock-team-po...

Because most Americans barely live at a subsistence level these days and protests fall on deaf ears.
Short of violent insurrection I don't see a solution. Look how hard the establishment has fucked Sanders over for being a progressive. His rhetoric is more or less the middle of the road stance for Europe but the media and his own party has been trying to undermine him as an extremist from the get go.
America is a terrible place to live if youre poor. It's spend the last 40 years trying its damnest to trap its poor into modern day serfdom. Between insane housing costs, poor mass transit, and suppressed wages its really dangerous to try to dig yourself out of poverty. A decent chunk if Americans are scared of losing their homes, being scared of their heath is an ill afforded luxury.

In the explosive bubble years leading up to the Great Recession the Establishment discovered that the poor were an untapped reserve of wealth. They could write mortgages and issue credit cards at obscene interest rates, beyond what they could pay. A mortgage originator could make a lot more money off of an unqualified mortgage than one for a well qualified person. The scam was to bundle it with other mortgages, in that way they produced the best of both worlds, net return in a supposedly safe overall investment. On top of that, anti-bankruptcy insured that the poor could never get out of their obscene credit card debt.

Congratulations to the oligarchs who now completely run this country, with the help of their sycophants otherwise known as the Democratic Party.

I remember during Clinton's Impeachment hearings saying that to my not yet Tea Bagging mother - that they all sit around and decide who will be "for" what, and who will be "against" that, and then get together in a back room and make a deal. She asked me how I could be so cynical, I asked her how she could not.

But of course, I went on too to defend Dems, arguing over Obamacare and NAFTA, supporting both Billy Bob and Barack wholeheartedly. And then I read a bit more about what Obamacare actually IS, and that made me pause for a second, but I still wanted to believe. Then TPP and Obama using the racist meme to say that anyone against that was merely a racist, and by God it started to sink in - they really DO make those backroom deals and probably always have.

And the betrayal of that is what makes me so fucking angry. As I used to say in that other place when some Hillbot got all defensive over Mr Obama - you too will figure it out someday and you too will be very angry, and that anger will burn one hell of a lot hotter at the Dem who sold you out then your disgust and anger at the stupidity of the Tea Party ever burned... And once you see it? You can't un see it.

Hillary's negatives are from a lifelong history of prevarications, bad judgement, scamming the system, and securing personal power at any cost, not to mention being the worlds foremost Neocon.

Trumps negatives are from letting his mouth flap without control. All he has to do is to rein in his verbal excesses and his negatives will decrease, especially in comparison to Hillary. Trump has control of the causes of his negative ratings; Hillary can't escape lifelong actions.

This is Martha Coakley all over again. The Democratic insiders see their leading politician as deserving of the nomination, without at all considering her objectively or how she is viewed by most of America. It brings out the basic contradictions built into today's Democratic party, that the liberal party is really anything but a party of the people.

Comment post New Hampshire primary, when it was clear that Trump was winning. He stated that in every election/campaign Hillary has ever run whatever her poll numbers are at the beginning, they never get better. Never go up. He cited her runs in New York, and her previous bid for the White House, and said that her starting number was never improved upon. She either stayed the same (NY Senate race, at 67% (?)) or she dropped (Pres race), but once her numbers went down, they never, ever went back up.
And now we have at least 3 polls showing Trump either surging or beating her. Wonderful.... Just try telling her supporters that, and you're likely to get hit with more venom and 'la la la' than you can handle.

The dangers of free trade agreements: TTIP’s threat to Europe’s elderly

The most serious threat to European health care and care for the aging population in general is pressure from U.S. firms and diplomats to ram through the TTIP.

It is much more than a free trade agreement. Its “investor dispute” mechanism threatens to disenfranchise governments. The intent is to block them from protecting Europe’s economy, population and basic social philosophy that has developed over the past century of social democracy.

That is why so many of us in the United States also are fighting against this agreement. It has been a major issue in this year’s presidential campaign. Republican nominee Donald Trump has affirmed that the public option is by far the most economic. And Democratic contender Bernie Sanders has opposed Hillary Clinton’s support for her patrons on Wall Street and in the pharmaceutical monopolies. I hope that a similar fight will be waged in Europe.

Could things be more backwards? The Republican says positive things about the public option, while the (establishment) Democrat pooh-poohs it and pampers the profiteers.

Disenfranchisement. Now there's a word that might--might--get peoples' attention. I keep saying this mechanism will render borders and Constitutions null and void the first time this Investor wins one of them. That people cannot see this or understand it absolutely makes me nuts.
