Our part of the world just got socked with well over a foot of snow, which is not all that common in southeast Michigan. The snow was followed in short order by bitter cold.

Somehow I missed this diary. I really enjoyed seeing the gorgeous patterning of the white against the dark orchid color in the second photo. I wish my few orchids looked that remotely good.

nothing lasts as long or is easier to take care of. I manage to kill them anyway as my mind is always elsewhere, but I keep them going through one flowering season at least. Managed to convince my mom before she died that they were the best indoor plants for sure.

when it gets here, though, it is downgraded to "wintry mix," which basically means that it's going to freeze and make a damned mess. oh well.
it was a lovely day yesterday inside the conservatory. it's four acres under glass and the temperature is perfect. B)

orchids are my favorite indoor flower
