Trump Running to Get Revenge on the Kenyan
I had posted in a reply that I heard that Donald Trump is running to spite Obama et al. This video report seems to agree with me.

I thought I had heard it on Ian Masters show, from a respectable source, recently on the drive home, and it made sense at the time, given Donald's personality trait.
In another one of Ian's shows, one of our ex- Foreign policy advisors opined that Trump represents the strongman, in the sense that Berlusconi or - she mentioned Cesar Chavez represents the strong populist leader who promises purple unicorns and leads his people into ruin (why this happened, with US meddling, she did not mention, but yes, Venezuela is in ruinous times).
I strongly endorse Ian Masters' show. Your brain needs it!
But what do you think of the idea that he is motivated by this strong ego drive? I think it fits in with his personality profile, his "Meyers-Briggs". And I might add that these people (New Jersey is not sending their best Cory Booker!) have been historically wreakers of havoc and wreckers of good. I do not know how to stop them, but stop them- stop him! - we must.
...for the future, for the planet, for the children.

Myers-Briggs for T-Rump?

I don’t see how we stop TTP, TTIP, and TISA without stopping HRC
Trump has attacked NAFTA-like trade agreements.
We (Democrats) won't stop them.
We (Democrats) will learn to love them. Embrace and own them--until a Republican is back in the Oval office, then we (Democrats) will pivot back to being against them.
For an example of how this works, see TOP. I didn't wake up to politics really until GWB. I used to be bothered by people who said there was no difference between parties. I would disagree and explain how just the issues in the Middle East (Iraq) were enough to show the huge difference in the parties. I worked my ass off to help elect Obama because I believed and then watched wide-eyed as I was proved a fool. They are identical except for a few social issues so that it makes it easier to pick a team. Pick your poison.
There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties.. This...is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.--John Adams
Arsenic or strychnine...
and nobody says, "Why do we have to take poison?"
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Perfect! We spend hours discussing which poison...
will give us a few hours more life or a slightly less painful death... but most of us never say - wait... why don't we not take EITHER one?
my Dad was yelling at me the other night when I went for dinner, telling me I had to vote either Trump or Clinton, there was no one else on the ballot.... Since I prefer not to fight with my RWNJ parents, I didn't enlighten him. He'll find out when he sees the ballots.
Apologies, but
I'm not buyin' this.
Let's just say that (at least IMO) Mrs. Clinton knows why Donald Trump ran, and leave it at that.
Hugo, not Cesar ... though both were populists!
Venezuela's problems are similar to the problems wherever left-wing reform meets right-wing obstruction. The fascists do everything they can to undermine the institutions of reform, and then they point and say, "Look, it's a failure!" (See: Canadian Health Care)
The earth is a multibillion-year-old sphere.
The Nazis killed millions of Jews.
On 9/11/01 a Boeing 757 (AA77) flew into the Pentagon.
AGCC is happening.
If you cannot accept these facts, I cannot fake an interest in any of your opinions.
While this may have been a factor...
I'm not convinced that it had as much to do with it as his friendship with the Clintons...
Of course this is all CT... But...
I believe the "Birther Movement" was actually part of a Clinton racist attack against Obama...
I also think that Trump running was a joke that the Clintons put him up to in order to decimate the GOP Frontrunners and throw the party into disarray...
Early on he ran down the list of Republican Talking Points that they all harbor but cannot admit to as it would destroy their electability...
Trump could say them because he wasn't planning on winning, he was only going to shred them, and withdraw from the race after getting outrageous and having his support falter...
The only problem was that as outrageous as he got, his followers supported him even more, and he couldn't say anything wrong...
Oops! There goes the exit strategy...
I really do think he was created by the Clintons as part of their election strategy, and the monster once out of the bottle got out of control, even beyond Donald's control...
Now they don't know what to do...
Yea... It's all CT...

Yeah, but it sure explains a lot of the
tone-deaf steamrolling over obvious questions by others, where they simply refuse to acknowledge the questions about Hillary. If they do answer, it's vague, if it's even related to the actual question at all. They don't HAVE TO answer, not really, you see: she's a "foregone conclusion", so why bother?
When it comes to these "insider Democrat" types, I put nothing past them, including making Trump a ringer, so Hill's negatives weren't so obvious. It's kind of a brilliant strategy, except for the part where it demonstrates that you're morally bankrupt. But as you note--and I agree--nobody counted on Trump becoming so popular. And they didn't see Bernie coming, either.
And now it's a mess. OOOPS!
Eggzackly...
Which is why it is so plausible...
I'm sure the strategy planning for this election started when the Clintons were in the White House and has never stopped... They just modified it as the situations developed...
I put nothing past them... Their greed for power is endless...
Ultimately it will consume them...

Off The Subject But Only Slightly
I try to write in full sentences and complete words. But I'm old. It seems most people on blogs and certainly on C99 prefer acronyms to English. I use the acronym dictionary and other sites, but not all acronyms are listed. Most acronyms can be gotten from context or ignored if not crucial to the meaning. I have done my best. Really, I have. But one of the popular acronyms in use here is not in the dictionary or any other researchable site that I can find: "CT".
Please give me the English translation. It would help if people would use acronyms when they really need to save space and not in everyday communication.

-Socialism: the radical idea of sharing.
-Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

Hi Polkageist
CT stands for conspiracy theory. I don't know why people prefer shorthand when they're being dismissive. Maybe they don't want to ruin their doublethink?

LOL, for me, texting has something to do with it
I can write really long texts and it has taken me years to start using some shorthand my niece and nephew use - LOL, LMAO, ROTFLMAO, IDK, etc. I find myself using both "ur" and "your" in text speak, although I don't do it when typing YET, I have almost done that. Space saving but also thumb saving when texting.

I still don't get the "birther" thing
The theory that President Obama is secretly an illegal alien from Kenya was so preposterous that I just shrugged and assumed it was code for "OMG there's a black guy in the White House!"
Nobody could actually believe what Trump was saying, right? But here's a poll question from January 2016:
Do you think Barack Obama was born in the United States, or not? (Party ID = Republican)
Yes 21%
No 53%
Don't know 26%
I can't explain this. If I could, maybe I would understand how Donald Trump is connecting with right-wing voters.
The "birther" movement apparently began in 2008 with Hillary Clinton supporters, but not with her official campaign.
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."
that's
exactly what the birther thing is about. A black man, in the White House.
And it was the Bush family Trump ran to revenge himself on. Not Obama.
Oh, of course it wasn't
with her "official" campaign, because Plausible Deniability, for heaven's sake.
It was just another "LOOK! A Squirrel" moment, the kind which we see every fucking day in the US "news".
This Plausible Deniability of the Clintons...
Is one of the biggest "Turned Off" triggers I have towards them...
