I know...like saying "the Wolfman is better than Dracula". Actually, it's very much like that. I hadn't realized how much it's like that until I typed it.
He wasn't running to win on the first round of votes, he was running to win on the second. I thought that the party at least would have kept him afloat to the convention. What this probably means is that he was hearing that Trump delegates were not planning on switching after round 1.
Regardless, Cruz just basically solidified Trump as the winner. Trump still had to do really well in the remaining states, and I believe that three that Cruz would have won (The Dakotas and Nebraska) are winner take all. Trump doesn't even to win those (although he's now up against a man who literally only won his own state and not very decisively), he just needs to peel off some of Cruz's support in CA and that should put him over the line (let alone all the other states).
The positive is that I suspect Donald Trump might start pivoting to how he would run in a GE, and I'm hoping that would be a strong selling point for Bernie because if Trump goes in a certain direction, he can hit all of Hillary's weak points (in turn, making any arguments that Sanders can sell to voters and superdelegates more convincing).
Think about it. Hillary already has problems (as we have seen in two campaigns now) when she actually has to campaign. Now, she has to campaign against 2 people at once. Why do I see epic meltdowns happening in the sHill campaign now.
I added the bit about Carly winning first prize for shortest VP run. Someone commented that it was nice she'd go down in the anals of political history.
Not sure if it was a typo or not, but I loved it.

Thank God for small favors. Crud is out.

And Indiana democrats like Sanders
What's the matter with them!?!
Don't they know about pragmatism and rallying around the anointed?
OMG what will hecate do?
He won't have Zed Crud to kick around anymore. LOL
Seriously, what this tells me is that the Republican establishment has decided to rally around Kasich as their last ditch effort against Trump.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?

Heavy hitters have been backing Kasich for a while now
Here is my little FEC dashboard as of March 31, which shows that Kasich has larger average contributions than anyone except Clinton:
(Note: This is only individual contributions large enough to be reported.)

Last Stand Hill?
For the GOP to rally around Custer -er, I mean Kasich, will be about as successful as that of the 7th Cavalry on June 25, 1876.
