Why I'm voting for Bernie

Why I'm voting for Bernie Sanders

I'm 44 years old, and I've never voted before as I've watched time and time again in election after election that my vote doesn't matter. After watching what's transpired in this election cycle, I'm still not sure that it does. For the first time in my life there a candidate who has given me hope. Hope against the oligarchy that inspired me to write a paper about how the rich are dooming this country way back in 1990. I was strongly against Desert Storm back then and my opinion was that it was all about oil. I still feel that way, especially when it comes to any decision made by the Bush family and the actions either have them took when it came to the Middle East.

I'm voting for him because I don't want to have to apologize to people who get victimized by the economy when it crashes again. Unless we reinstate Glass Steagall you can bet that it will. In my opinion, anyone who isn't in favor of that is incompetent, corrupt, or both.

I'm voting for him because I don't want to have to apologize to people suffering from droughts, and hurricanes, and other natural disasters that we didn't do enough to save them and their homes and families.

I'm voting for him because it's ridiculous that since Martin Luther King Jr. died, his ideas on social justice appear to have died with him. That's a crime against this country and its citizens that should no longer be tolerated.

I'm voting for because this country should be a leader when it comes to providing health care and education to its citizens, not copying and lagging behind the rest of the world.

I'm voting for him because in the modern history of this country there hasn't been one instance of an interventionist regime change action that has yielded a positive result. It's time we stopped.

I'm voting for him because with the money and special interest groups controlling both political parties, I don't trust our current political system to change a 5 dollar bill.

I'm voting for him because I want to be able to tell future generations that when someone came forward saying the game was rigged and we needed to change it to make this country what is was intended to be, to prove to the world that here in the United States of America, every man, woman, and child are equal, that I cast my vote for him.

I'm voting for him because at the end of my day when I go to bed, I'll be able to sleep better knowing I did.

Bravo indeed.

I was briefly tempted to lecture you for not voting, I won't.
I'm not going to wish on anyone that additional empty feeling one feels when you do vote.
In my presidential voting life I've never unreservedly voted FOR anyone.
I want to vote for Bernie so badly it aches. That's never happened before.

I have been waiting decades for a person like Bernie to run, not one of the corporate puppets. And your reasons OP are similar to many of us as to why we are voting Bernie!

and that was 49 years ago. But I have also been waiting for Bernie all of my life. I was underage when JFK was elected, and while I voted for Jimmy Carter, at that time it was not clear to me (probably to most people) exactly what stature of human being we had in him. I doubt it matters whether one has voted along the way or not. All of us have been waiting for Bernie.
