Friday Night Photos Guitar Lovers Edition

Happy Friday everyone. Welcome to Friday Night Photos your once a week escape from the day to day insanity of the world we live in. Post any photos, memes, music or whatever else you find of interest that helps tune out the madness.

Last Friday I toured the Taylor guitar factory in El Cajon. The company was founded in 1974 by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug. When he didn't have the money to buy a guitar he saw in a local music store, Bob Taylor built his first guitar during his junior year high school wood shop class. From that beginning Taylor guitar now has two factories, employs over 700 people, produces 1000 guitars a day and sales guitars worldwide. Some notable Taylor players include Leo Kottke, Dave Matthews, Jewel, and Taylor Swift.

of months. I read music, so all I had to do was figure out strings and frets. Before I got too far into it, I worried about the inevitable callouses on my finger tips which would be disastrous for my piano playing.
My Dad played the steel guitar, but never bought one. In fact, I only heard him play for a couple of minutes once. He could also play a guitar.
I am addicted to instruments that are the best of the best. My grand piano is a Chickering, made with a ton of copper, African mahogany, elephant ivory keys.
What a onderful experience for you, and now I know lots about Taylor guitars!

I have a friend that teaches piano. She'd like to get a grand piano but doesn't have room for one.
The only musical instrument I can play is the radio.

About half of the processes are done on computer controlled machines. The other half are done by hand.
The whole process from start to finish takes about a week.

and AI are, there are still plenty of items that require a strong human touch. Musical instruments are included in that group. I would love to watch AI stumble trying to put together a mandolin from scratch. Really getting sick of so-called "high" tech. More like dumb and dumber tech if you ask me. Also, there are quite a few folks who are not familiar with Leo Kottke. Why? I don't know. He was one brilliant guitar picker highly respected by the educated music nuts in my group. Smile Love the pics and subject matter, Sp. Hope all's well in San Diego. So far, so good on the hurricane front, but we still have a few more weeks, and the oceans are bubbling soups temp-wise now. Rec'd!!
