Is Korean movie trailer Spirit 신명(神明) for real?

South Korea's first occult political thriller, Spirit 신명(神明).

"December 3, 2024, it all started with 'her'" (Kim Gon-hee, former First Lady. The actress even looks like her). At the beginning the words The Day appear on the screen, which is a reference to the movie hit 12.12 the day of the Chun Doo-hwan military coup (Yoon's hero) 12.12.1979.

"I went to the mountain vastness to the place of the dead" (This is a reference to the place of spirits or god(s). Clearings in mountains are used for grave sites of ancestors, and in some classical poetry are the place where gods dwell. )

A must-see movie for all Korean citizens!

'Shinmyeong' 신명(神明) launch trailer grand premiere!

Opening in theaters on May 28!

Two of the lines at the end, "I can see better than most shamans" and "I am a spiritual person," are taken directly from a recording a reporter made in more than seven hours of phone conservations with Kim Gon-hee, some time ago. She believed she had his loyalty because she had offered him some monetary reward later after Yoon was elected. She had referred to this as..."When I take power..." The director/producer who made this video is always dealing with litigation and libel suits to shut him down.

The trailer was published on youtube by 열린공감TV a leftish independent political channel. Sometimes they produce their own video material which is very high quality. I can't tell if its real or just satire. I think it's real. 열린공감TV the political youtube channel. I heard the PD discuss the production process on May 2 when the movie was finished. It was finished in 40 days, so it may look a little rough. Maybe they will just publish it on youtube. The movie premiere of Spirit is scheduled right before the election? If so, it's going to draw applications for injunctions. They have to get a rating from some government agency, too, which may not happen in time.

This definitely outclasses all the bots on social media spreading disinfo about Lee Jae-myung. The symbol for King 王 on the palm of a hand that appears in the video, was a Yoon trick used during his presidential campaign, and definitely was a shaman like trick to appeal to the superstitious voters. It's commonly known that Kim Gon-hee patronized a couple of holy men or fortune tellers. So did the retired DIC commander Noh Sang-won, who is also on trial for insurrection. Noh, incidentally, was drummed out of the military for some sort of sexual battery on a subordinate.

A couple of weeks back I watched one of 열린공감TV videos that began with a wonderful revolutionary song. I searched and searched and couldn't find the source.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981

I still feel like I'm missing a great deal.

I only wish the occult/science fiction/fantasy could get anywhere NEAR American politics; how pathetic is it that I momentarily felt a twinge of enthusiasm purely because I'd heard that for once, a major American politician had actually read and really enjoyed a science-fiction novel, and...that politician?...that novel...?

It's hard for me to explain well, because I don't know the actual contents of the "movie." I first encountered the trailer for the movie "Spirit," yesterday. I recognized the former First Lady's character right away, and some of the other visual cues in the very brief trailer. I thought is this a "real" movie trailer or just a joke of some kind for political effect. I searched the producer director's youtube channel and found a brief discussion of his completion of the movie production, and intent to release it, as soon as he could. Obviously he wants to release before election day June 3. It makes me wonder where the producer director gets his money to hire actors to make the movie.

The "ruling" conservative party is tainted now with Yoon's impeachment for attempting to overthrow the government. Even though they have a new leader, Kim Man-soo, who won the presidential nomination, he is burdened by the association with the Yoon administration. He as the Labor and Employment Minister, a far right, conservative, if not a complete lunatic, supported Yoon till the bitter end.

One of the themes of the opposition to Yoon, was the corruption of his wife Kim Gon-hee the first lady. A superstitious woman, she had Yoon consult shamanists, to make major political decisions. It is believed that she was actually in control of the South Korean government, not Yoon. Yoon used his clique to protect Kim Gon-hee and her mother from investigation and prosecution for years and years, while democrats keep digging and finding further evidence of her corruption.

She said in the "seven hours" recording that she would get revenge on her enemies when Yoon was elected. The power struggle inside the S.Korean government was really between the opposition and Kim Gon-hee. The is an image of a "kill list" in the trailer. The DIC commander Noh, also a shamanist, is the one who actually drew up the kill list for the coup, a list of politicians and rivals to Yoon both within and without the democratic opposition to be killed during the Dec 3 coup d'etat. There were also a couple of judges on the list. The names of course are changed in the movie. The main character's name in the movie is similar to Kim Gon-hee, it is her appearance that makes one certain the main character represents the former First Lady.

As the legislative opposition seemed to be getting closer and closer to overriding Yoon's repeated vetoes of appointments of a special prosecutor to investigate, indict and prosecute the first lady, the coup became mandatory. The National Assembly almost had enough votes to overcome his vetoes. In real life, Yoon chose not to rule from the Blue House, but the former Ministry of National Defense building on Yongsan, (a base originally established by the Japanese Imperial Government) because it was more auspicious according to shamans. The same holds true for Yoon's provocations against North Korea, and rapproachement with Japan. His wife and other shamans told Yoon that Korea would be unified in 2025 with Yoon, er, that is Kim Gon-hee, the spiritualist, the moodang, at its apex. This is story behind the movie, although the movie appears to be a parody or exaggerated in some of the theatrical effects and I don't know the actual plot of the movie. It appears to be based as least in part, on actual events over the last 4 or 5 years.

If the movie ever does appear on the internet, I'll certainly watch it. As I watched this, Yoon's criminal trial for insurrection (at his wife's behest) is still underway. The movie's purpose is to expose the medieval mind of the main actor behind the effort to reimpose tyranny in South Korea. As the options close for the Yoon clique, South Korea is politically very unstable. Rumors are swirling now about plots to assassinate democratic presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, who is the center of opposition to Yoon. Lee was also the leader of efforts to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate and indict Kim Gon-hee. The efforts to indict and convict the first lady are still underway. She is forbidden from leaving the country. In the past the presidential staff is alleged to have labeled the former first lady as VIP 0, while Yoon was referred to as VIP 1, said to reflect the real power in South Korea.

edited for typos, and clarity a few times.
